crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)

Yeah, the breeze was ablowing outside most of the day -- I only opened one window up in full because it was out of the wind and thus wouldn't lead to assault by curtain. It was also variably cloudy -- the kind of day where you're always eyeing the sky because there's JUST ENOUGH dark clouds around to make you wonder if rain's on the way. At least it was warm too! We happily seem to have turned the corner on cold days, or at least so I hope. *fingers crossed*

The day itself was pretty nice, though:

-->Had a nice smoothie for breakfast, homemade pizza for lunch, and homemade spinach pies for supper :D I'd been craving pizza for a bit, and the spinach pies were a nice bonus from the leftover dough.

-->Watched:

A) Call Me Kevin destroying the world with "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, and coming close to destroying the world with Waluigi and Fortnite, in Plague, Inc (the effort people put into their ridiculous diseases is amazing)

B) Call Me Kevin destroying one city in Cities: Skylines Campus, a new expansion pack which allows university areas; Kevin made a city of islands with one-way toll roads, water and sewage in the same pipes, a giant university island, and lots of cemeteries because oh hey people are dying by the bucketload. Did I mention this video was sponsored by Paradox Interactive, the makers of the damn game? XD

C) The latest Atop The Fourth Wall -- turns out that end-of-episode reference I didn't get before was from Dune, as Linkara reviewed the adaptation of David Lynch's movie adaptation. Much like last week, the "adaptation" part of the comic was done very well -- problem is, when you're adapting a crappy movie. . .not to mention, again, the art style rather sucked. Smudgy inking and underdone pencils made everything look half-finished. Bleh. At least Linkara's riffs were all on-point. Including a Fatboy Slim reference when main character Paul and his mother had to walk without rhythm so they wouldn't attract the worm. XD

D) OXtra doing a Commenter Edition follow-up list to their previous list of worst mentors -- WHEATLEY actually made this list, mostly because he does act as kind of a guide in the early levels and fills you in on some stuff. And then turns evil during the core transfer, because of course he does. OXtra loses some moral high ground points, though, because they misspelled his name "Wheatly" on the little graphic that pops up at the beginning of each entry. Stop giving him legit reasons to be mad at us when he has his bombs for throwing at us!

E) OXBox doing a Commenter Edition follow-up list to their previous list of joke weapons that can actually be pretty awesome. Dead Space 2's Isaac Clarke's foam finger weapon got a mention (though not the fact that I think it's a reward for beating the game on the hardest difficulty, meaning you've already proven you don't NEED it), along with the Dubstep Gun from Saint's Row 4 (I want a gun like that) and the frying pan from Fable (which can be an awesome weapon -- if you find it the right way. You can only "unlock" its augmentation slots by finding all the clues to locate it in an in-game quest -- look up the answer elsewhere and just dig it up, and they're mean enough to take away the slots AND make it do no damage. Okay, maybe you need the clues to figure out how to use the slots, but it's a FRYING PAN. Big metal disk. It's gonna hurt if you whack people with it).

-->Wrote another chunk on "Secundus 2" -- a Gordon POV section shortly after he fled Hill Valley entirely because Victor freaked him out in the saloon. (Note that this is pretty easy to do, as Hill Valley does not have much in the way of borders currently.) He is -- not happy that Victor is doing so well in life. He is also not happy that a gang of thieves has found him and he's about to be robbed. :p It was kind of tough going -- still fighting off some of the period fog -- but I wrestled it into a shape I'm happy with. Slowly but surely making progress!

-->Read this absolutely wonderful bit of Valice fic from my friend Hellz, who dug up an old ask prompt as a thank you for me donating to her Ko-fi. :) It's just -- so good. It gives me all the best feelings about Victor getting through a bad moment with Alice's help. :D

-->Played some Fallout 4! Ended up spending most of the day exploring Lexington, discovering the Super-Duper Mart; raiding Mystic Pines (which LOOKS like it was an old folks' home? Or something of that nature. . .there's a lot of wheelchairs); dying to some raiders and their REALLY ANNOYING turrets; coming back and killing the raiders and blowing up their turrets; and finally stumbling upon the assembly plant I needed to find! I have promptly warped back to the Red Rocket truck stop -- as THAT'S where my power armor lives. :D Time to go to town on some Raider Scum (that is what the game LITERALLY CALLS THEM XD) and finally finish up this Minutemen sidequest so I can get Garvey as a companion and then actually get to work on the main plot again. Gotta recruit the lady who will probably be Victor's main love interest (since you know, I can't have Alice), after all.

And right now I'm working on wrapping up queueing on my RP tumblr while doing some chatting on the main one. Gotta answer my inbox comments, and we'll see where the night goes from there. Tomorrow I'm thinking will be a Sims day. . .and hopefully less windy. Fingers crossed, anyway! G'night all!
