crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)

Literally -- my parents just spent a good half-hour cleaning glass out of the bathroom after a picture toppled off a shelf and smashed the frame. Nobody's sure what happened, as the damn thing's stayed in place over the past two years, but. . .not exactly the best note to end a day on, is it?

Fortunately, the rest of the day hasn't been TOO bad. Work was kind of stress-inducing, with having to figure out some problems that popped up as the day went on (mostly online stuff), but we came to a resolution on the most important one, so that's something. And I caught something that would have screwed up our totals later before I could put it on the system, so that was good. Got in a walk at lunch, and a walk-at-home video before supper because it went all rainy and miserable in the afternoon. And there were cookies (both Mom's and a friend of Mom's), so I ended up having some. Trying my best to be good food-wise, but -- sometimes, you gotta have cookies. :p

On the writing front, finished up the third chapter of "Secundus 2" -- so far, all the chapters are pretty damn long! But then again, that feels appropriate to the first installment, and to a series that was born out of NaNoWriMo. Our villains have all shared why they don't like our mains (Doc and Victor in particular), and have decided to at least hear each other out on ways to destroy their lives. Next chapter we swap back to said mains as they reach the McFly Farm, and Victor has a crisis regarding his ability to be a good father. Turns out accidentally scaring a decent chunk of your best friend's family doesn't do good things for your self confidence. . . Slowly but surely making progress in this fic!

On the video front, my Discworld podcast had a special Good Omens-themed episode, as the creators are fans. The theme of the whole show seemed to be "when the book's good, it's REALLY good, but some of the story ideas and characters kind of show their age." A pretty good look at what works and what doesn't in the book, especially with the miniseries adaptation coming out soon.

There was also another episode of The Sim Supply's Sims 2 LP -- on their last day on Twikki Island, Nina finally managed to find the Mysterious Hut treasure map. And James almost missed it as he was trying to micromanage everyone else's needs at the time. XD Nina went and visited the witch doctor, but didn't manage to repair all of his appliances and thus didn't get the voodoo doll. Ah well, they did come home with a giant chest full of treasure, at least! Which James refuses to sell, despite them needing money, because it looks too cool. XD And they all earned some nice vacation perks from their trip -- can THAT be a thing that comes back at some point too? Moodlets are fine and all, but. . . Seriously, this LP just makes me miss all sorts of things in Sims 2. We really need a Sims game that combines the best parts of that generation and Sims 4 -- that would really be the ideal, I feel.

And I JUST finished my Newcrest Adventures queuing on Victor Luvs Alice (whew! Five posts in one day is no joke), so time to clear out the inbox and hit the sheets. Still gotta get through work tomorrow before my next day off. :P Hopefully I can get a few more things done that I've been meaning to do. . . Night all!

I'm thinking about watching that Good Omens show only for two reasons: wings and David Tennant.

Yep; he's a demon, so they're black. I've only watched the first episode and half of the second, so if there's more I don't know yet. I'm also not sure how I feel about it yet.

I read on TV Tropes that Neil Gaiman was very strict about making sure it was a good adaptation since he wanted to keep Terry Pratchett's memory alive. Having not read the book, I can't say either way.

Finished the series. It was...okay. I might find the library in this town and try to check out the book. So, six episodes and with the exception of the opening animation, the only other time we see wings on Crowley and Aziraphale is in the last episode. For no reason other than...Rule of Cool? *shrug*
