crossover_chick: gif of Doc gasping (BTTF: EEK)

Had a long, rambling phone call at work from someone who had big business ideas for us, but that was kind of the worst of it. Managed to clear up some of the stuff that was stressing me out yesterday too, which was nice. Good to go into the weekend with a few things off my plate! Weather was an improvement too -- some scary-looking clouds, but it all cleared up into sun in the end. And tomorrow's supposed to be lovely -- a good day to get out and about. :)

Evening's been pretty nice too, I have to say. Ride home wasn't horrible, and I got in my walk once I realized the scary clouds were not actually going to dump rain on us. Then, after supper, I finished up the current part of "Secundus 2," with Gordon and Buford managing to escape thanks to taking everyone by surprise. Everyone is very apologetic to Doc and blaming themselves -- don't do that guys, blame me. Sometimes, things happen for plot. *pats them* Coming up on another "villains' POV" section, then onto the picnic that introduces everyone to Clara!

As for YouTube:

-->New "Fun With Shorts" -- a classic 40s/50s "30-year-old student talks with a narrator about an 'important topic'" style short, this one about improving your memory. I am actively trying to forget the first stanza of the poem they repeated endlessly during it as an example. :p (I mean, maybe I should actually have paid more attention to it, because my memory can be shit sometimes, but still.)

-->Another episode of The Sim Supply's Sims 2 LP, where the Grumpert family continued to suffer because James spends all their money as soon as they earn it. Since they currently have $4,000 bills thanks to their vacation, this is a problem. More of a problem because James won't sell their sports car or hot tub. XD Fortunately there's plenty of "impress the headmaster" artwork they can dump to get at least a few bucks -- you know, for groceries and the like. XD And to feed the pets -- poor Quentin (their kitten) keeps getting near starving because they empty their pet bowls so fast! Awww~ And then James accidentally spawned a burglar on the lot while looking for their bills (for reasons unknown even to him, his game permanently has testing-cheats enabled). Fortunately the car alarm went off and alerted the police before said burglar could steal anything, and the family got a free $500 out of it, but still. XD Even James was facepalming over that one.

-->And The Sim Supply doing more goofy Sims-themed online quizzes. Most of them were the usual goofy "general knowledge that is absurdly easy" or "how would you die as a Sim? Pick from among these totally random options" stuff, but there was one question that rocked both James and my world -- the first quiz, showing a picture of a part of Willow Creek and asking "what neighborhood is this?"

Willow Creek was not one of the options.

The correct answer was Foundry Cove.

Cue James being UTTERLY BAFFLED to discover the neighborhood subsections in the earlier worlds HAVE NAMES. And being COMPLETELY UNABLE TO FIGURE OUT HOW ANYBODY KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE CALLED. Sentiments I totally sympathize with, because I'M IN THE SAME FREAKING BOAT I HAD NO CLUE ABOUT THIS. I mean, ever since City Living, we've had the handy little pop-up blurbs with a name and description for each neighborhood in a world, and I thought it would be nice if they'd maybe do the same with the older stuff -- and it turns out THEY ALREADY HAVE NAMES?! Even more annoyingly, the comments under the videos CANNOT AGREE on whether or not these names were ever visible in-game -- some people are CONVINCED that the neighborhood names used to show up on the old "color was at a premium" map screen, while others keep pointing out James just managed to play some pure base game Sims 4 and they never saw anything like it. *grumble* I like that they HAVE names, but I want to know how we KNOW the names. (For the record? Everyone in my Newcrest Adventures save lives in the Bridgeview neighborhood in Newcrest. Llama Lagoon is the main commercial center, while Ridgeline Drive has been built up into more commercial lots, including the local spa, Chell's current-on-hold bakery, and my "family fun center" lot.)

So yeah, that was a bit of a distraction tonight. XD I have managed to move enough past it to catch up on my webcomics and get my Valice Multiverse queue sorted. Just have to answer one last comment in my inbox, and then I'm doing the old Friday Night Writing Thing with a friend. Tomorrow -- mall trip and vampires! (AKA I have more Bloodlines 2 videos lined up. Not as many and not as long as last time, though. :p) Night all!
