Not So Bad Monday
Jun. 17th, 2019 11:06 pmGL was a touch complicated, but nothing truly horrible -- I had it done by midmorning. I also cleared out some stuff from the returns, took a few phone calls, and tried to contact a few people (not always successfully). There was a bit of a thing at the end of the day with a duplicate record, but I don't think it's actually as bad as I thought before leaving work. Fingers crossed, anyway!
Weather was looking a bit unsettled throughout the day, but fortunately it never actually rained, so I was able to test out my new sneakers with my new Ace socks. Both were very comfy, so I had a good walk/run after work. :) Hot one, though -- it hit 80 degrees today! Going full summer today. Unfortunately, this might be the pick of the week -- we've got rain showers coming in Tuesday through Saturday. Just FIGURES for my long weekend off. . .we're keeping our fingers crossed that Thursday isn't a washout -- we're still willing to go to Mystic if it's just the threat of rain, or a few light sprinkles. Otherwise. . .gonna have to find something else to do.
Speaking of things to do, I managed a fairly productive evening:
-->Since yesterday finished off a chapter, I took a night off from "Secundus 2" to refine the gift fic that's going up for my tumblr friend on Saturday (since that's her birthday). I think it came out pretty nice -- it's just some Victor/Alice cuteness based on some private messaging RPing we've been doing (Victor's been adopted and taken to the future by her character, and Alice recently joined the shenanigans by falling through a time portal). Hopefully she'll like!
-->Watched Helloween's latest set of his Dead Space 2 replay -- Isaac is having Not Fun Times in the USG Ishamura location from the first game. Mostly thanks to a combination of necromorphs popping out JUST OFTEN ENOUGH to keep him constantly on edge; his dead girlfriend's accusing voice constantly whispering in his ear; and flashbacks to previous gameplay sections that get the player as much as him. :p I really like this game, can you tell? :p Helloween's commentary adds another level of greatness too, especially with his nicknaming of the monsters and constant mockery of Dead Nicole. And making explodey spears for the javelin gun. *sigh* Delightful. Love this series.
-->Also watched a Deli video about some of the most popular starter homes on the Sims 4 Gallery (plus one College Dorm lot she snuck in under the rationale "well, in real life, a place like this is sort of your first time living more or less on your own!"). People make some pretty gorgeous starters in this game! Me and my little boxes are suitably shamed. :p I particularly liked one where the creator used the special debug menu in buy mode to get some of the furniture your Sim can make on the woodworking table, and used it in the house to suggest a home that your Sim had made yourself! There was also a cool vampire starter that looked really awesome on the outside. . .and then was nearly empty on the inside as clearly the person had spent too much on making it two stories. :p Great look, though -- ugh, every time I watch a video like this, I'm so tempted to add all the lots to my library, even if I never use them. . .
-->On my own Sims side, I did two of my posts for my Wednesday update -- which, considering it's a three-and-a-halfer, is not bad! (Yeah, I didn't have enough remaining pictures from the day to do a full forty.) Whatever keeps the queue going. . .still gotta figure out what I'm doing for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but I have a little time for that at least. And I know one of my "Saturday" slots is already filled, which is good. :p
And I managed to take care of all the comments in my inbox early tonight, so that's a little plus there too! Time to get off the computer and take a stab at turning in BEFORE midnight, or at least closer to. Two more days. . .hopefully there are no major disasters. Night all!
