More Stress And More Heat
Jun. 27th, 2019 11:06 pmLots of phone calls at work from angry people, and the usual nonsense where I'm trying to do one thing but I keep getting pulled into other stuff. If I didn't have proof that they could from last week's long weekend, I'd swear this office couldn't survive without me. *sigh* Stress really didn't ramp up until the end of the day, though, which was a little better than yesterday. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
Heat is definitely a thing now -- got up to about 86 for a high last I heard, and it could have been even higher. Fortunately, we now have the lovely air conditioners up and running! Dad had them going when I got home, which was very welcome after a hot ride along the highway. (To the point where my after-work exercise was an indoor walking video -- I was just too 'woof' to head back out into the heat.) We turned them off for a little while when it cooled down around sunset, but I'm turning mine back on again for sleeping purposes -- cold is just better when it comes to sleep. (It's actually cooled down decently outside, but it's so hard to get the cold air into my room, even with a big old fan -- and trust me, I've tried. It doesn't seem to adequately cool down until it's finally time for me to get up!)
Other than that, evening has consisted mainly of:
-->Getting another chunk done on "Secundus 2" -- Clara and Doc have been reminded other people exist. XD Though, on a less amusing note, Clara brought up the fact that Secundus survived the Queen of Hearts to back up Christopher and Doc's complaints about how they can't even do a motorized wagon in Hill Valley, and -- well, Victor's having the Bad Memories again. :( This is kind of a recurring theme, given his fears about losing himself to anger, especially around the baby. Fortunately the conversation's due to take a nice turn again soon enough -- and Victor's likely to get some reassurance on the whole "scary Touched" thing before the chapter's over.
-->Watching a build of a Sulani sandbar cafe, the Boat Hole, on The Sim Supply. It turned out really nice, with lots of wide-open spaces, and "windows" made from half-walls, columns, and spandrels, and a nice little canoe "garage" to the side -- he even got over his love of white and black and threw a lot of color into the build! Once I get Island Living, I'll probably pop it into my library for safekeeping. :)
-->Watching another set of Dead Space 2 from Helloween. Isaac has braved the medical wing (along with Jump Scare Nicole reminding him of all he lost), upgraded his flamethrower and roasted quite a few fools (including many Necromorph turkeys), done the thing with the gravity tethers and gotten Ellie and Stross where they needed to go -- sort of, ejected himself in an escape pod and crash-landed, saw Stross STAB ELLIE IN THE EYE WITH A SCREWDRIVER (well, we never saw actual penetration, but -- we know what happened), and now he has to get through another wrecked part of the space station he was on to try and get to them and stop Stross doing anything ELSE horrible. As well as still figure out a way to destroy that damn Marker. . . Game remains good stuff, Helloween's commentary remains on-point. You know a set's going to be good when it opens with the LPer going "ow" from crossing his legs on a sticky seat on a hot day. XD Probably laughed at that more than I should have, honestly. . .
-->Getting my Valice Multiverse queue sorted -- some asks, some threads, it's all good.
And now it's time to clean up any last-minute stuff and hit the sheets. One more day. . .and then a weekend that may possibly include some mini-golf, and may possibly include my parents going away for the day for their anniversary. We shall see on both fronts. *nods* Night all!
