Hit The Ground Running Tuesday
Jul. 30th, 2019 11:05 pmDon't you just love coming back from a long weekend, only to find a bunch of work waiting for you? Including something the person emailing you really SHOULD have brought to the attention of your director, but no, you and only you? *sigh* Well, at least the day went by quickly, if more stressfully than I would have liked. Seriously, one quiet morning to help ease myself back into things would have been appreciated. . .I'm trying not to think of the mess that might be waiting for me after my end-of-August vacation, depending on how things go. . .
Evening's been pretty busy as well:
-->Worked out -- indoors, of course. Another heat advisory day means staying inside with the AC. I only really experienced the heat going to and from work, but that was more than enough, let me tell you.
-->Did dinner and made muffins -- breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after all. Nothing too different from any other time I do it.
-->Wrote another chunk on "Secundus 2" -- Marty and Christopher have had their contest, aaand -- it's a draw! Marty consistently hit every target, but Christoper managed to take out two rabbits with one bullet, so he managed to stay level with him despite a miss. Everyone found it very entertaining, and Christopher's going to get a free holster out of it (as Marty's going to insist somebody get SOMETHING).
-->Watched a couple of videos:
A) Atop The Fourth Wall's latest PSA Hell -- Captain America and the War on Drugs! Here interpreted as a war against drug-dealing aliens testing how resilient and obstinate humans are to see if they're worth the trouble of conquering or not. Marvel Comics, everyone! The main story was actually pretty good, though -- a pitcher named Mitch turning to drugs to deal with the pressure on him to continually live up to expectations, leading to him accidentally hurting someone during a game with a misthrown ball and nearly getting beaten up by the guy's angry teammates. Fortunately Captain America is there to smooth things over and remind Mitch that he's not alone, and his loved ones are here to help him. Rather touching, and much better than the average PSA bullshit. Even with the aliens. :p
B) That video I mentioned before about lilsimsie's save game -- which turned out to be specifically about her Sulani renovations, instead of the whole file. Which, fair, she seems to have a lot of videos about how the file has grown and changed over the years, but I was a little disappointed it wasn't about the whole thing. The Sulani glow-up looked good, though, with a cool new resort and a fun themed restaurant for the tourists (the employee costume is pirate outfits XD). I am still super amazed and impressed by people who will redo entire worlds in this game -- I barely look at build mode most of the time, and the idea of redoing EVERY LOT in a world, even the small ones. . .wow. I'd never have the time or patience. Kudos to you, lilsimsie.
-->Speaking of Sims, got the Wednesday Sims update sorted -- Eric and Andy's date to Sulani. It really is a nice world to visit -- I wish Sims could properly vacation there! Ah well, have to content myself with day trips. . . Eric at least makes for easy updates, since he's a single Sim with a dog. Though that may well be changing during this round with him, if I decide to have Andy move in, or even marry him. We'll see! But for now Eric's still living the solo life.
-->Did my Valice Multiverse queue too -- which, uh, got busier than expected after I did my Sims update! Oh dear, I don't mind answering threads, but why did everyone have to answer this evening, instead of during the day when I could take a moment to draft stuff? *sigh*
And now I'm finishing up this, while preparing to answer the one last comment I have in my inbox. And then it'll be time to bed again, and then -- we'll see what comes of Wednesday. Hopefully a little less to deal with. . .night all!
