Yeah, it got rather warmer and muggier today -- apparently we're due a couple of days of muggy weather, with some rain and scattered thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon/evening, then it goes back to being pretty nice. I can dig it -- even if means I have to turn on my AC to be comfortable enough to sleep tonight.

Anyway, as per usual this long weekend, it's been a day focused mainly on YouTubery:

-->Caught up with the latest set of "Riddles with Jay & Kassie" videos -- some goofy "figure out if she's cheating or not" riddles, some silly supernatural riddles, the occasional creepy thing (like a genuinely spooky monster under the bed) -- all your typical 7-Second Riddles nonsense. Fun to watch, though. Even if Jay and Kassie ended up doing some of the same riddles over again. XD Can't fault them there, really -- I've watched 7 Seconds' stuff, and they do a LOT of repeats in their videos!

-->Today's long video was an OXBox Birthday livestream done last Friday -- OXBox is officially seven years old! :D They celebrated with a rainbow cake and trying to do some suitcase-related challenges in Hitman 2 to unlock a hilarious homing briefcase.

They FAILED EVERY SINGLE ONE. XD Could not complete even ONE of the challenges. Admittedly, the challenges are all set in the final level, and are kind of tough -- transporting a briefcase from the morgue to the crypts while wearing a burial outfit, which makes you suspicious to everyone because that's supposed to be on a dead guy; knocking out six guards on a rather open pier and hiding the bodies without being spotted; killing one of the targets with an explosive hidden in a briefcase (this one was extra fun, as they kept blowing THEMSELVES up with the explosive chosen). . . I still expected them to manage ONE. I mean, Andy, who is usually The Competent One, kept ending up in full-on Mike combat situations as he tried to carefully plan his way through the level. Pretty hilarious, but man. XD On the other hand, I DO see they have a new escalation out involving a certain jogger they mentioned during the birthday stream, so maybe. . .we'll see soon, it's in the Watch Later queue. :P

-->As for Sims stuff, we had:

A) A look at Moschino Stuff from James Turner, which -- okay, the fashions are pretty awful (in my opinion). The new furniture I probably wouldn't use, but there is a nice bookcase, and some neat new picture frames. . .and photography in this pack looks a lot better than before? Like, you can have Sims pose, and you have new backdrops, and. . .it all looks good? Admittedly, I have done like NOTHING with the photography skill, but this sort of makes me want to? It's not enough to get me to buy it right away, but I've gone from "I'm ignoring this stupid branded stuff pack completely" to "maaaaybe the next time there's a sale?" I dunno, we'll see.

B) Deli's look at the newest patch and some of the glitchy bits in it -- nothing really all that different from what James talked about, but Deli showed off a little more of the new frames update for photographs and how the whole "wall to shelf" thing works. (You don't even have to assign a frame -- if you don't, the photo gets a sort of clear plastic stand, which is cool.) So that's good to know!

C) James showing off the speedbuild of the house he made for his patch video, an "off the grid" two-room hut. Small, but nice if you have a Sim who doesn't mind living a more eco-friendly life. Though James was talking about all the cool stuff you COULD have in a proper eco-friendly pack, and that got me thinking about what Laundry Day Stuff was SUPPOSED to be. . . Maybe one day they'll do something like what the fans originally voted on. Or, more likely, we'll have a fan-pack all about it from dedicated modders.

Speaking of modders, my own Simming got off to a late start because I almost forgot I had to go and update the mods I have currently before patching up my game. And then patching took longer than I expected. . .meh. I know it takes a while with so many expansions, but still. Eventually I got in, though, and had another day with Eric Embers! He had work today -- I finished off the case I hadn't QUITE completed the last time he was at the station (literally just had to get the confession from the Sim he was interrogating), then picked up a new case and started work on that. I hate to say it, but his job can be a bit boring sometimes -- every case is in essence the same. I mean, doing the same things over and over again is a problem with ALL the active careers, but it's most pronounced with the Detective, because there's so little variation. With the Doctor, you at least have a variety of diseases to look out for; with the Scientist, there's all the neat inventions you can make. Reasons why I don't think any career in Sims should be full-active, but instead just have active elements. . .

Different rant. Anyway! We got through that, then Eric came home, napped for a bit, then had his dinner party. Which was a huge success, despite me not fulfilling the main goal (call everyone to a meal) until near the end of the party. Turns out that option doesn't appear on GOURMET meals, which is what I had Eric make for the main course. Fortunately, the dessert he made, a sugar-free coconut carob cake (Eric is a Wellness nut), DID have the option, so all was well. Really well, in fact -- thanks to all the minor goals I'd fulfilled earlier, his dinner party scored gold! :D Got a new pot rack and coffee maker out of the deal, nice. Plus a new stereo and dining table, because I'd bought them in preparation. :p So yeah, good day for our little detective!

And I got some proper writing done -- more on "Secundus 2," closing up our heroes' conversation as they prepare to leave the party. Victor's feeling pretty low, thinking he somehow provoked Gordon -- everyone was sure to tell him, "No, Gordon's just an asshole." Though an unusually informed one -- how DID he find out about those spiders? And Buford was talking about a "dead-walker" too. . .unfortunately, they're not going to figure out this mystery until it's a little too late. Ah, the demands of plot. . .plus, none of them seriously think anyone would actually reanimate BARKIS. A notion it will be very unpleasant for them to be disabused of.

And that's about it -- I gotta answer some last questions and wrap things up here. Work again tomorrow! Likely to be busy too, with the long weekend. . .we'll see how it goes! At least I only have to get through two days before getting another day off. :p Night all!

Wait, I'm confused. Is this the same Gordon Tannen that chased Victor into the train in the first place?

I guess he's in Hill Valley visiting family or something?

So shouldn't Victor know that Gordon is just an asshole?
