Why A Stressful Saturday
Aug. 17th, 2019 11:06 pmNot HORRIBLE, but -- well, I personally am still on the red curse, and we had some iffy weather today (alternating between sunshine and looking like it was going to rain any second, and humid as HELL), meaning Mom couldn't do any more painting on Dad's truck like she wanted (she's been painting it to look like a Peter Max piece), so that was annoying her. And then when we went out this morning to get me a bathing suit, we encountered some pretty miserable traffic trying to get both up and back, and general crowded conditions in the shopping plaza we went to. Just -- wasn't a great time. Plus I've been feeling like I'm behind where I should be because of the timing of everything all day. . . That isn't great either. *grumbles*
I did get things accomplished, though:
-->Completed my dusting WITHOUT giving myself a head injury from my fan (was VERY sure to turn it off FIRST before getting up on my bed today)
-->Got the bathing suit I was looking for! It was a near thing -- Kohl's didn't have a great selection, but we found something that looked decent enough and fit me upstairs (my boobs are always my worst enemy when it comes to this kind of clothes shopping). And thanks to it being on clearance and me having a gift card, I only had to pay $10.20 for something that was originally $88.00. :P
-->Watched the first part of the next bit of Critical Role's "Thursday By Night" -- well, two-shot, I guess, since it's two episodes. When we last left our heroes, they had narrowly escaped the explosion that took out the Geek & Sundry studios, and today's adventure involved them getting lost in the tunnels of the lizard-people! . . .No, seriously, there are lizard-men under L.A. in this universe. Apparently because that's a genuine L.A. myth. They managed to convince the lizard-people they were no threat to them, and got escorted back to the surface world. Where Liam promptly killed a guy in a porta-potty, and Laura just BARELY kept Travis from draining dry a YouTuber filming in the cemetery they found themselves in. XD This whole thing is so ridiculous it's great. Especially since almost everyone keeps flipping back and forth on whether or not they like being vampires. And human morals are REALLY tied to how hungry they are at the time! Looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up tomorrow!
-->Played some Bloodlines -- got another night in Alice's life covered! Did a bunch of early Downtown stuff, such as meeting with Strauss, meeting with Nines (he's actually NOT hostile to me in the playthrough, mostly because Malkavians don't get access to the same line other clans do about ruling over his bar, and that's the joke I want Alice to make to piss him off. Just not gonna talk to him from this point on to "fake" it), and reporting back to LaCroix. Picked up the two sickness quests (Camarilla and Anarch flavors) AND the Patty quest -- which I think is a good thing, because it means Alice has heard more about how being a ghoul can go wrong, and thus will be even more resistant to the idea of keeping Victor one (at least, until she falls in love with him. . .). Also picked up the Elizabeth Dane quest, which I went ahead and did because I remember seeing a hint of sunrise when you complete that quest, suggesting it marks the end of a night. Alice happily used the cop to complete most of the objectives, and picked her way into the Records Room to get the cargo manifesto. Have improved her Stealth and Investigation. Next up, turning in the Elizabeth Dane, getting the Skyeline Apartment, picking up "Victor" (aka Heather), and starting investigating everything in the apartment building! Lot to do, lot to do. . . But it's all very fun. :D Even if it leads to absurdly long note write-ups.
-->Watched a couple of Call Me Kevin videos -- one of him in some sort of "Gary's Mod" SCP RP server (he played mostly as a D-Class being experimented on who wouldn't stop flirting with his assigned scientist and then accusing him of cheating by talking to other characters XD); the other of him playing Steep (a game about winter/mountains sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and parachuting -- Kevin was. . .not great at any of them. Though his characters were very enthusiastic about being smashed into trees and launched off of rocks XD).
-->Got the next Scene From Secundus up: A Most Unusual Moon! Just some fluffiness of Victor and Alice looking up at the night sky, inspired by one of my favorite AMA skyboxes -- the crayon stars and Cheshire moon above the Skool. :D Seriously, still so cute.
And now I'm trying to do some of the RP thing, catch up on some tumblr tags, get my Victor Luvs Alice queue done, answer what comments I can in the inbox. . .it's a busy night. Just gonna keep pushing through and get what I can done! Tomorrow should be a little better, as I don't have anywhere I need to go. Goals include: finishing up "Thursday By Night," writing some more on "Secundus 2," and playing Sims 4. I think these are all achievable. Night all!
