Nothing Too Special Thursday
Oct. 10th, 2019 11:27 pmDid my best to solve some problems and figure out some mysteries; did database updates and all that fun stuff. Nothing of any real note, honestly. Suppose that makes it a decent enough day at work, then. Even with the weather remaining pretty shitty. . .though, ironically, today I wore my rain boots, and ended up not needing them -- it was dry both walking into work and walking out of it. But you just KNOW it would have been pouring if I'd left the house without them. . .
Anyway, non-work-related things:
-->Got in an exercise video, yay me~ I mean, I followed it up with cookies because my mom made a bunch, but still XD
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice is going up to see the apartment, and has encountered Fish! Who, because your sire in the game is always the opposite-gender counterpart to your chosen protagonist, looks like a deranged pimp raver. Alice keeps talking herself out of running for plot reasons. XD Also, I am probably having way too much fun making Fish as annoying as humanly (or vampirely) possible. Well, the idea is you're not supposed to miss him when the sword comes down on his neck. . .
-->Watched:
A) Another riddle video from Laurenzside -- an early one, with a theme of "spot the man dressed up as a woman/woman dressed up as a man!" riddles. Which, uh, rely on some pretty sexist tropes at times. . .at least Lauren calling them out is funny.
B) The latest Atop The Fourth Wall, now ASHOCK The Fourth Wall for Halloween, complete with a fancy logo! :D We're into Hellraiser stuff this year, and first up with an anthology comic. We had a decent story about someone encountering the cenobites in the age of the Crusades and going on a torture campaign to gain power to destroy the "devils" that gets a bit muddled with its message, but has good gore and a nice ending; a pointless story about a card game with one of the puzzle boxes as the prize, with an admittedly-very-surprising twist -- unfortunately, that's what renders the story pointless; a good story about a man who's made a deal with one particular cenobite to get its help in torturing people -- only for his latest victim to turn the tables; and a weird story with horrible artwork where a woman welcomes a cenobite killing her but her unborn baby has to be removed first because they're not allowed to drag it to hell, so it becomes a star. Yeaaaaaah. Also, Halloween storyline -- Linkara has the paranoia, his friends talk him out of it -- and then it turns out he was right to have the paranoia, because SOMETHING is messing with reality. Starting with giving him cats, so. . .terror? XD (Seriously, this is the introduction in-universe of Lewis's new real-life kitties, and they are adorable. :D)
-->Left some reviews for some (much shorter) fics I enjoyed recently, yay~
-->And answered the stuff in my inbox and got my Valice Multiverse queue done -- a hefty one, but I have stayed atop it. *nods*
And lo, that was my day in a nutshell. Time to head to bed so I can best Friday and finally get to my long-awaited long weekend. Night all!
