Bowling BTTF Sunday
Oct. 27th, 2019 10:04 pmYes, we did indeed go on our bowling expedition (in the rain -- I don't think we've gone out bowling ONCE when it's actually been sunny. Even the time we went bowling in the afternoon it was drizzly!). Bowled for two hours, which allowed five games. I had two bad ones and three good ones. Gotta work some more on not twisting my wrist when I throw the ball! Dad of course was the MVP again, with a streak of four strikes in a row on one game! Though we all got at least one strike, so that was nice. It's good to be back in the bowling season again; I like going to our alley. :) Though I wish we'd stop getting lanes close to the snack bar -- looking at the menu between turns made me hungry! Good thing we had plenty of leftover chicken noodle soup for lunch. . .
Most of the rest of the day has been centered around YouTube -- specifically, Hitman 2 and Sims 4 YouTube:
-->Watched that Halloween Livestream from OXBox regarding the new Hitman 2 Halloween-themed escalation, the Mills Reverie Escalation! Though it took a bit to get to the actual escalation -- apparently the servers went down shortly after it was supposed to be posted, and they didn't come back up until about halfway into the stream. (Not sure what happened -- demand to play the new escalation?) The gang amused themselves with murder rampages in different levels until then -- Andy killing everyone in the vampire magician costume in Paris, and incinerating people in the murder basement in Whittleton Creek. XD He actually acts a bit more like Mike if he's not worried about the score. . . Anyway, the escalation itself is super cool, with the opening tutorial level made up as a super-creepy Halloween-themed landscape, and 47's outfit being a pumpkin-head creature. The level is apparently the dream of a man called Orson, a minor character in the tutorial level -- you go through the escalation doing various awful things to him: "pacifying" him with a spooky bat, pushing him off the roof, sacrificing him at a weeping angel ritual circle, and finally dragging him into a closet with you. All good, creepy fun! Plus you unlock bat-shaped shuriken for completing it, which they promptly rampaged with in Sgail. :D Really puts one in the Halloween spirit. :D
-->Also in the Halloween spirit: a new Hitman 2 Elusive Target! This one a blackmailing male model in the old Hitman Paris level. Jane, Andy, and Mike all had a go, and -- well, does the phrase "chaos is a ladder" ring any bells? :p You know it's going to be a good one when Jane's response to finding the victim is to just snap his neck in front of a bunch of guards. XD And both Andy and Mike tried to kill the guy via dropping a chandelier on the catwalk -- BOTH timed it wrong (though in Mike's case they were tricked by someone wearing a similar outfit) and had to go looking for him afterward. The frustrated Andy found him pretty quick, gunned him down (again in front of witnesses, NOT his usual modus operandi at ALL), and escaped the level; Mike. . .well. It's kind of a wonder Mike COMPLETED the mission instead of being mowed down in a hail of gunfire. XD He had to basically search the ENTIRE MAP for his target after the chandelier crash went wrong, switching outfits and constantly getting compromised/into combat. It was hilarious. XD Plus he eventually blew up the guy with his favorite rubber duck explosive, so that was great. :D Oh, I love when a mission goes completely out-there like that. . .
-->Less in the Halloween spirit (but just as amusing) was a small Plumbella marathon:
A) Plumbella sharing a video her parents made while she wasn't feeling well, with them trying to make each other in CAS -- though what they were really doing was making fun of each other, trying to figure out how CAS even worked, and being total goofballs. XD It was very cute in a mildly dysfunctional way. XD
B) Plumbella touring a few "family fun" builds from her latest hashtag -- had some cool stuff! A cute little fairground with the toddler gym; a mini-recreation of part of Disney, Simsney; and an awesome park inspired by Knoebel's in Pennsylvania with a homemade (non-working of course) rollercoaster and water slide! It all looked super awesome -- even if it DOES make me want some sort of Theme Park pack. *grumbles*
C) Plumbella playing Sims 2, getting all nostalgic over Strangetown (the Specter family! The Curious family!), making herself in CAS (which, uh -- okay, you have to admit we've improved a lot there), and having her Simself (and her dog) make friends with Bella Goth (a difficult process that involved cheating XD). Very fun to see her get all excited over the classic game, and made me nostalgic for my own Sims 2 days. Ah, that was the good stuff. . .
-->And then we finished up with another Call Me Kevin episode about his Sims 4 trash fire. XD He's got a new mod that lets your Sims be royalty and designate other people as their advisor, court wizard, jester, royal servants. . . Naturally, this was strongly abused. XD Though Dear Leader Jim Pickens didn't start out as king! You see, his father was still alive at the beginning of the episode, so HE got to be king for starters. ...please note the "was still alive" in that previous sentence. XD Yes, after throwing a royal banquet and meticulously trapping all his visitors in his new basement dungeon, Kevin sent Jim out to get some "Dear Leader" pictures to decorate the place -- and when he came back (empty-handed no less, the game wasn't letting him take them -- from Jim's own restaurant!), the game had despawned all the prisoners. Kevin was -- not happy. XD Dad Pickens was killed for his failures (though allowed to rejoin the family as a vampire ghost), and Jim took over the royal title. . .with PLANS for all those NPCs who escaped his lair. . . Looking very much forward to the next entry in this ridiculous saga!
Speaking of Sims 4, I played a round myself, as it is Sunday. Emmett and Nikal bought lottery tickets and hit the magical realm (Emmett got himself a new spell, Inferniate, and Nikal snagged the free Orb of the Dragon Familiar available downstairs to get herself her own familiar, Vale -- after the DragonVale game also published by Backflip); then we followed Emmett to work -- where there was a alien invasion going on! O.O
. . .Said alien invasion consisted mainly of aliens in civilian disguise wandering around using the equipment, and Emmett's work goals requiring him to be mean to them. :( Kind of disappointing, to be honest. Even worse was I couldn't even complete two of my work goals! One was order a coworker to garden, but they'd already done the gardening; the other was introduce myself to a particular Sim, who left the lot before I could do anything! I manages to fill up my bar on the one set of goals I COULD accomplish (namely yelling at Sims and mind-controlling them with my SimRay), but bleh. They should have the work goals automatically refresh if you get one you can't do! *sigh* At least it was still a reasonably productive (if evil) day for him. Hopefully the upcoming Harvestfest will be a little more interesting!
And I also got another chunk done on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Jack gave Alice a quick run-down of her Disciplines as a Malkavian after Alice asked if she could do what the Sheriff did to those Sabbat (short answer, no). Alice is not thrilled about being able to inflict derangements on people, but likes the fact that she can turn invisible. We're just past the tutorial lockpick, moving toward tutorial hacking! And we're already on page 16 of the first chapter. XD Ooooh, this is gonna be a long one. . .not that I expected anything else, but. . .
And I just finished my Valice Multiverse queuing, so I'm good there. Time to answer the comments I have waiting in the inbox and prepare for bed! Monday, blah. . .but it's the first day of a short week that ends on Halloween, so that's nice, at least. Hopefully A) things won't drag on too much, and B) we won't have any major disasters! Fingers crossed everyone! Night all!
