Sort Of Typical Monday
Oct. 28th, 2019 11:32 pmNothing TOO stressful at work -- just getting on some gifts I've been meaning to put on, and cleaning up some addresses as best I can. Also cleaning out our silverware drawer after one of my coworkers brought in a bunch of plastic silverware because it was kind of a disaster. XD But yeah, fairly quiet day for the most part. I'm hoping this is a trend that continues throughout the rest of the week. I'd prefer to keep my stress levels low before going on my long weekend. Especially since Mom's work has just been giving her shit lately. . .she's talking about quitting, and I don't blame her. The place she works at is pretty damn awful, and she deserves better.
Evening was also pretty quiet and went as follows:
-->Got in an exercise video -- no lunchtime walk as it was kind of crummy, and expected to be that way for most of the week. Warmer temps, at least, but persistent rain. Not exactly great weather, but I guess I'll take it over California's state of emergency. Meep. :(
-->Had pastrami sandwiches and fries for dinner -- and as the pastrami was really thick-cut, there were a couple of slices left over that I could take as a sandwich to work! :D So that was nice.
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- went longer than I usually do because I wanted to finish up the video I was watching in Helloween's playlist. Alice has learned how to handle a computer and gotten shot by a bunch of Sabbat assholes. Obviously couldn't KILL her, but hurt like a bitch. Plus her shirt is basically Swiss cheese at this point, which annoys her. But hey, I estimate we're about halfway through the tutorial, so that's good! I can't believe how long this first chapter's gonna be -- I mean, I'm used to writing long fics, but I get the feeling "Londerland Bloodlines" is going to be something of an epic. O.o *cracks knuckles* Welp, nothing for it but to keep going and hope people want to read it once it comes out!
-->Did my Valice Multiverse queue for Wednesday -- and captions are STILL not working on queued photosets! I have officially submitted a support ticket. Dunno what'll come of it, but. . . Again, I still put up the posts with text, explaining their trip to the Magic Realm, and Emmet's no-good-very-bad-day at work, but -- I never realized before now how much being able to do a funny caption influences what pictures I pick for these updates. I don't get why they're suddenly not working and have no clue what changed. . .hopefully I shall soon receive answers!
-->As a result of this (and making up a picture to show the issue to the support team in my ticket), I only had time to watch one YouTube video. Or, rather, LISTEN to one YouTube video -- the latest Wyrd Sisters Podcast episode, aboutFaust Eric! Which. . .you know, I remember enjoying the book, but it's not one of Pterry's best. Manning and Liz mentioned they felt it was like a rough draft, and I think that's a good way to describe it. Lots of good ideas and whatnot, and it's still a fun read, but everything could have used a little more development. Ah well, not even Pratchett can hit it out of the park each time. . .and he was apparently coming off working on Good Omens when this book came out, soo. . .
And now, having already answered the stuff sitting in my inbox, I should really go to bed. Still got three days to go this week, and I should be better rested for them. At least I'm well-prepared for my Victor Luvs Alice queue this week. . .we'll see if I'm the same for doing the Valice Multiverse tomorrow! Night all!
