Happy November 12th!
Nov. 12th, 2019 10:04 pmYes, the big BTTF date -- could NOT skip out on getting a 10:04 post today! Even with the icy wind howling outside my window. . .seriously, it is BLOWING out there. I'm just glad that what it's blowing isn't snow. We had a little snow shower this afternoon -- first of the season -- and I was fully expecting a shitty ride home because of it. Not because of it sticking -- none of it did -- but just because RI drivers don't handle any form of precipitation well. Fortunately it stopped before we went home (and left us with a very pretty sunset!), and getting home wasn't really any worse than it is on a normal night. So yaaaay~
Anyway, not too much to report on the day -- work wasn't TERRIBLY horrible, though we ran into some fun times with trying to figure out a thank-you letter for one person's gift. Mostly, though, it was just the usual catching up after a long weekend. And my evening wasn't too out of the ordinary:
-->Caught up on the latest patch notes for Sims 4 -- some new holiday clothes, multistory columns, and a TON of bug fixes -- about freaking time on some of them! Granted, this means I need to monitor my mod/CC situation a bit. . .you see, this is why I have only really committed to MC Command Center for the moment. Once I start indulging post-University, it's gonna be a LOT harder to update everything for patches. *sigh* The price you pay to have a much better game. . .also, they're doing another fan-voted-on stuff pack! We'll see how that turns out -- they have some interesting ideas, including what looks like a hobbies stuff pack! That would be nice. . . Voting happens next week, so hopefully I'll have a chance to throw in my two cents.
-->Wrote some more on "Secundus 2" -- edits on the first chapter are coming along well! Almost done "setting the scene," as it were. Then it's onto Chapter 2 and getting everyone off on their grand adventure! :) I'm hopeful that I'll have both chapters ready to go around Christmas-time, and a good start on Chapter 3 at least, so I'll have a decent posting buffer. Dunno how long it'll last, but -- hey, you can be assured of getting at least the first couple of chapters in decent time! :)
-->Watched the "Back To The Future - Script To Screen" video that has been sitting in my Watch Later for AGES in honor of the day. It was an interview of Bob Gale and Christopher Lloyd at the University of California regarding BTTF's script and some of their forays into breaking into television (Chris on the acting side, Bob on the writing side). Mostly the same stories I've heard before regarding BTTF and its origins, but it was still good. And it had some new stuff, like Bob doing a script for a terrible cop show where the lead actress became a Jehovah's Witness and thus had really strict limits on what she would do and not do in-character. (Apparently she had people from her church around during filming to police her!) So that was amusing. As was a script-read of some of BTTF, where Chris got a chance to play the Doc again. It DID kind of highlight just how gravelly his voice has gotten as he's aged, but he's still got the energy. :)
-->Got my Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse queues done, yay! Neither was too difficult, though of course a four-part Newcrest Adventures update is gonna be kind of time-consuming. But it's done, and there wasn't a crazy amount of asks/threads going on on Valice Multiverse (unlike last Tuesday with the Issues), so I'm good on both sides! w0000t~
-->Reread some favorite BTTF fic, also in honor of the day -- still love "15 Minutes Above The Fold," though unfortunately the effect now is spoilt somewhat by the newspapers having Photobucket watermarks on them. *grumbles*
And now it's time to wrap things up and head to bed -- got a cold day coming up, so I want to spend as much time as possible under my nice warm blanket. :p Night all!
