Happy Thanksgiving!
Nov. 28th, 2019 11:16 pmI had a decent enough one -- got up around 9:45, made my smoothie, fooled around on my computer for a couple of hours, made my bed and got dressed, then around 12:15 we were off to my aunt's! Got there a little after 12:30 to find WAY TOO MUCH FOOD waiting for us. XD Seriously, she had a platter with vegan cheese, crackers, apple slices, hummus spread, olive spread, and other nibbles waiting, a GIANT bowl of salad, a good dozen cornmeal pumpkin muffins, these HUGE sweet potatoes with chickpea and vegetable toppings, whole roasted and glazed carrots, a pumpkin pie with vegan ice cream. . .and lest you forget, my mom brought turkey and butternut squash soup! It might not have been so much if my cousin and his girlfriend had been in attendance, but they were down in Kentucky, soooo. . .
Still, a decent meal! Everything tasted pretty good, and we managed to keep individual portion sizes from getting completely out of control for each thing. I ended up really liking the corn-pumpkin muffins (tasty!), though I didn't particularly care for the pumpkin pie. *shrug* Can't win 'em all. . .anyway, it was a good visit, with lots of conversation and some sitting around and watching the football games on the TV. We ended up leaving around 4:30 and got home about 5, carrying lots of leftovers and chocolate turkeys my aunt bought everyone. XD I ate mine, and we had another little supper from the leftovers later. So yeah, definitely kept up with the Thanksgiving tradition of eating more than is probably healthy for ya! XD Fortunately I didn't end up feeling too stuffed -- though maybe I can partially thank my period making me hungrier than normal for that. :p
As for the rest of my day, it can be summed up with the following:
-->Wrote part of a quick scene in my "Londerland Bloodlines" notes -- probably never going to make the fanfic, as it's a touch NSFW in a particularly kinky way, but it was fun and that's all I wanted from today :p
-->Had a Call Me Kevin marathon:
A) Prison Architect, where Kevin built a terrible prison with terrible torture cells thanks to a mod -- do we expect any less from him at this point? :p
B) Yes, Your Grace, where Kevin was a terrible king who refused to help his citizens with their problems unless they paid him, and also forced his daughter into a political marriage for troops, only for the king he made the deal with to get poisoned and die, and his son to immediately withdraw support. Also they seem to be at war with the ORIGINAL person who was going to get said daughter's hand. Whoops. XD Also also Kevin got killed once by starving angry peasants. As you do.
C) Calm Down Stalin, where Kevin had to make sure Stalin only THREATENED to push the button and start nuclear war, not actually press it. Which, given it's one of those "simulator games with awkward controls and an increasing number of awkward tasks to perform," was NOT easy. Kevin was actually saying he didn't want to be a dictator anymore by the end -- which, if you know Kevin, is EXTREMELY out of character! XD Ooof, poor guy. . .
D) Scribblenauts Unlimited, where Kevin caused ever-more chaos with this game's disturbing ability to let you do just about anything. From raising an orphaned dragon and having him eat God to become more powerful, to giving a deaged wizard an abusive parent, to killing off a shipwrecked couple to reunite them in the afterlife, to exploding himself making a mecha T-Rex, Kevin has done it all! And he still hasn't visited every area in the game yet! So many more lives to ruin. . .
E) Superliminal, where Kevin struggled more with weird perspective puzzles -- especially when the game suddenly dipped into horror territory for a while (not in the sense that we were in any danger from anyone, but in the sense that the atmosphere definitely took a turn for the creepy!). Kevin's reactions to the "logic" of the game are the best. XD I really hope he does more episodes.
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue sorted (went with just a thank-you message for everyone for Forgotten Vows Friday -- fortunately I have some ideas of what to do for December!), and have been juggling messenger conversations while I try to get the Valice Multiverse queue sorted
So yeah, that about sums it up. Time to get back to that last tick on the list so I can hopefully get said queue done before I get too tired and have to go to bed. Have to answer some comments in the inbox too. . . We'll get through what we get through! And I have another day to catch up on stuff too. . .night all!
