Stressful Yet Productive

crossover_chickYeah, work wasn't exactly easy today -- though I will say that the ride in was better, with normal heavy traffic instead of accident standstill. Just -- lots of problems, lots of weird situations, trying to puzzle things out, trying to clear up duplicates and call people back. . .and we're still technically in the slow period. Once things start ramping up with the latest asks. . .well, this is why I need to plan my time off. At least I'm keeping busy?
Evening's been pretty productive, though -- I accomplished the following:
-->Wrote another page on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice was HOPING to slowly draw all the guys out, either drink their blood or otherwise knock them senseless as revenge for Mercurio, then sneak inside and get his money back and the Astrolite. But because this is fanfic, she got seen by their dog, then by the shirtless guy outside, Brian. So now she's had to kill at least one guy, and she'll be killing the others because they're nasty drug dealers and making insinuations. Alice does not like insinuations. At least she'll get to be nicer to E and his group?
-->Got my Victor Luvs Alice queue sorted through the beginning of Sunday! :D One of the benefits of having two short posts already ready to go for Thursday and Friday, and finding something to fill the gap on Saturday before my video. So hopefully that all goes off without a hitch (aka without tumblr trying to eat one of my posts)
-->Watched three Sims videos all centered around the Tiny Living pack:
A) James Turner takes on Frost's "micro home" challenge -- three Sims, budget of $12,000, no move objects on or debug. It took some major fiddling, and some redesigning when one element (a dresser next to the Murphy bed) didn't QUITE work (the dresser stopped Semaj the Self Sim from sleeping on the side it was on), but he managed a pretty nice tiny house in the end! With a full bathroom and a separate bedroom no less. And he showed us all a neat trick -- use diagonals in your tiny builds. Technically, that gives you a little bit more room for the same tile footprint. *nods*
B) Carl's Sim Guides talking about the gameplay bonuses you get for living in tiny homes -- bills get slashed in half, relationship gains are through the ROOF, skill gains are also frankly amazing. . .and you don't even have to be directly ON THE LOT to experience them! So long as that is the lot that is loaded, you keep your benefits just strolling around the neighborhood. Carl is of the opinion this honestly makes living tiny TOO tempting, and that the bonuses are too strong. Also the Murphy Bed is apparently such a murderous asshole because it breaks just from your Sims SLEEPING in it. (Not to mention it's only Energy 1. . .) Basically, don't have that thing in your house unless you intend to get SUPER handy. Good information to have, I guess!
C) Plumbella's review of the pack, which boiled down to -- she likes the objects and the new CAS items, but she doesn't like that there aren't any new traits (she really wanted "Claustrophobic") and she doesn't think the style of the items actually suggests "tiny living." HIPSTER living, maybe, but tiny? Nope -- in her opinion, everything is still that little bit too big. XD Which, hey, validates my decision to a) get the pack on sale or as part of a bundle deal, and b) to get the pack for its objects and ignore the tiny living aspect altogether. Have I said enough about how I like space in my rooms and want my Sims to have that too? :X

And -- that's about it, honestly! Which is good, because I do need to head to bed. I've been waking up earlier than I should lately, so I'm gonna try and balance it out with some earlier bedtime tonight. Need my zzzs, after all -- still got two days of work to go! And tomorrow I'm thinking I need to stop somewhere and pick up a card for Mom. . .her birthday's coming up, after all! We'll see how it goes. . . Night all!
