Reasonable To Do List Achieved!
Apr. 4th, 2020 11:17 pmRoom clean: Yup -- and got all that done before lunch too! Granted, I tried to go a little quicker with the dusting today, as we only have the one duster left, but still.
"Vein Pursuit:" Got that done AFTER lunch -- two hours of our favorite vamps at a carnival! Having heartfelt conversations about why they can't go back to L.A. and how they feel about each other (Veronica basically straight-up told them "If I wasn't here with you, I'd be running back to the Camarilla; but you guys make me want to stay, if not Anarch, at least independent"), making more corpses (admittedly, Peggy was VERY hungry, but she did it AFTER she was past the point of frenzy -- greedy Peggy), and having a showdown with their antagonists as they tried to secure a ride that has ended in a fun chase scene! :D Just one more episode to go, and I am looking forward to it! I just hope Morgan doesn't get lost in the crossfire -- he got sent out with a list of errands at the beginning of the episode, and thus was kind of left behind near the end. :( Kind of like his sad sack ass. :p
Bloodlines with a view to making it to Ming-Xiao and using my flamethrower on her: Done and done -- turns out all I needed to do was crouch-jump to get through the balcony gap and down to the lower floor. *facepalm* Come on, Vic, you've been playing the game for how long?
Anyway, yes, killed all the guards down there (Obfuscate and Vision of Death continue to be super useful), solved the puzzles to open up the portal to Ming-Xiao's private room then unloaded the full contents of my flamethrower on her! Then switched to my Dragon's Breath shotgun to finish her off, with occasional bouts of melee. Took some doing, and she did manage to cut off a tentacle and grow one clone, but a few dozen shotgun blasts finally brought her to whatever remained of her knees in her Cthulhu-like form. Stopped by Mercurio's to sell the weapons I no longer needed and buy some ammo for the ones I did (I have ONE tank for my flamethrower, which I fully intend to use on the second form of the Sheriff boss), then started off the final quest by terrifying Chunk into hiding, killing the other security guards on that floor, then taking the elevator as far up as I could go. Funnily enough, this is the part of the game where I barely have to take any notes at all, as in-story Alice does NOT go through the gauntlet of guards and vampires -- instead, she climbs up the side of the building to confront LaCroix directly. I only have to worry about what she'll do in the Sheriff boss fight, and her final confrontation with LaCroix. Dunno if I'll finish the game off on Monday (my next scheduled play session), but we'll see!
As for non-to-do list-related things:
-->Mom was kind enough to make me a fresh batch of chocolate chip muffins! I hadn't had a chance to make a new batch of my own as we're basically out of flour (at least white, I think there's some whole wheat left) and can't get more; so Mom instead got some pancake mix and used that! I had one for breakfast -- tasted fine, if a touch saltier than I'm used to. Definitely like a pancake in muffin form, but that's hardly a problem. So I have more breakfast options now.
-->The whole family made a video right after lunch where we sang "Happy Birthday" to my aunt wearing ridiculous homemade party hats -- it's her birthday tomorrow, and we wanted to do something nice for her as, you know, everything is awful right now.
-->Did up my timeline notes for "Londerland Bloodlines," though I suppose that's a sub-section of the "Play Bloodlines" list item -- at any rate, have pretty much established that, under how I've broken things up currently, the whole game takes place from the evening of October 22nd to the morning of November 14th, 2004. So yeah, a little over a week short of a month. I'm probably going to end up building in more time for Alice and company to actually do things and get to know each other in the actual STORY, but this is a good starting point!
-->Watched four YouTube videos -- again, despite YouTube and my internet connection's best efforts. *sigh* I might have to transition to watching more videos earlier in the day and doing something less demanding on the connection at night. I do have fanfic that needs reading. . .anyway:
A) Video from the Yandere Simulator dev about "SNAP" mode, a frankly terrifying "game over" mode that you get when Ayano is noticed by her Senpai doing something disturbing and goes into a "well if he can't love me NO ONE CAN LOVE HIM" state. There is -- a lot of murder. I thought this was an April Fool's joke I'd missed at first, but then realized it was real and posted the day before. Wasn't expecting that!
B) Jay from the Kubz Scouts investigates "SNAP" mode and finds some interesting glitches -- again, thought this was an April Fool's video when I first saw the thumbnail, then realized it was real. Wild stuff.
C) GrayStillPlays The Political Machine 2020, where he created Florida Maniscomingforyoumotherfu, a giant head with a very American mohawk who had a giant meteor as a running mate, Google Translate as his main political rival, and a solid platform of killing all humans and venerating frogs as gods. And Traditional Values, can't forget that. He won mainly because Gray started him out super-rich to prove money can get you ANYTHING. (We already knew that, Gray.)
D) GrayStillPlays The Sims 4, in an experiment where he was kind enough to let 100 Sims CHOOSE the manner in which they would die for our amusement. The methods consisted of "Rich Starvation House" (all the best stuff but no way to eat; deaths were slow and from other causes at first, but once the starvation actually set in they started dropping like flies); "Drowning Party House" (house was essentially one giant pool with some hot tubs and bathrooms; killed all the sims inside the quickest); "No Privacy Equals No Will To Live House" (house was completely open plan, including bathrooms, meaning Sims were dying of embarrassment as they peed themselves; ended up containing the winner of the challenge because, well, the last Sim to survive in there no longer had to worry about being embarrassing in front of others!); and "Murphy Bed Hell House" (mostly sports equipment with the only places to sleep being murphy beds; took surprisingly long to start killing Sims but got there in the end). It was very amusing and worth fighting with YouTube to see in something other than potato quality. XD
And now I'm catching up on messages, doing a bit of the RP thing over on Valice Multiverse, and listening to awesome Bloodlines music. :) Feeling better than yesterday, that's for sure! Tomorrow is Sims Sunday -- gonna fire up the game and play some more of the McFly family (I need to age Marty and Jennifer up in the final days of their section -- they have school-age children, they're no longer "Young" Adults), and catch up on all of the James Turner videos I've missed so far (admittedly, two are Animal Crossing New Horizons videos, but it's still a simulator game, sooo. . .). Also write on "Secundus 2." Again, reasonable to-do list. *nods* Night all!
