Happy Birthday Alice!
May. 4th, 2020 10:56 pmAnd May the Fourth Be With You to all those Star Wars fans out there. :p But for me, this is definitely primarily Alice Liddell's birthday, and I made sure to celebrate in at least a few small ways:
-->Did this last night, but made sure I had a birthday post ready in my Valice Multiverse queue for today with the Alice I typically do quick threads with these days, w000~
-->Wore my American McGee's Alice t-shirt -- and added my Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Cheshire Cat sweatshirt when the temperature started to drop (yeah, sadly the day started out really nice, but got cloudier and colder as the day went on, meh. I want more days in the 70s, darn it)
-->Worked on the A-Maze-Ing Wonderland in Sims 4 -- managed to complete both the Looking-Glass Land chess section, and the Dollhouse playground section! Took a bit of fiddling around, but I got both into a form that I liked. :D Also filled in a gap with some more Deluded Depths stuff I couldn't find a space for in the "main" spot. Though I did discover something concerning -- both the Duchess's bathtub and a certain hanging swing bench from the "Cottage Garden" fan stuff pack I downloaded just vanish whenever I try to place them. O.o I'm not sure what's going on, especially since other items downloaded with those items still work (like the Duchess's gramphone, or other chairs from the "Cottage Garden" pack). It's not a HUGE deal right now, since so far it's only two items that I can see, but -- hmm. Might be time to go Googling and see if there's any fixes I need to apply to my CC. I do have a lot of older stuff. . . Still, I'm pretty happy with what I've got! Now I just need to finish off the Looking-Glass station building and maybe add in a couple more decorations! And remember to keep turning on "move objects" because sometimes items will disappear if I don't (Hatter's tea table tried to go walkabout today).
-->Wrote some on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- hey, it stars Alice, it counts! XD At any rate, she's made it into the Ocean House Hotel, and had her first few spooky run-ins. Thanks to which she's realized there's TWO ghosts (man and woman) and thus her job just got a whole lot harder. . .yeah, wait until you fall through the damn stairs in the next section, Alice! Then the creepiness is gonna start ramping up!
-->Took this picture of Victor Plush and Alice Dolly with my celebratory ice-cream-and-brownie to post on my Tumblr :)
-->Watched two old videos I have in my "Clip Mania" summing up the story of both AMA and A:MR with said ice cream and brownie
-->Read and reviewed a quick fic I found on FanFiction.net about Alice and her struggles to remember the truth of the fire (very poetic)
-->And I'm currently listening to extended versions of the songs on the A:MR soundtrack while I finish up stuff for the night~
So yeah -- I feel like Alice's birthday was adequately celebrated. :) Good times, good times~
In other news:
-->Spent the morning getting my Newcrest Adventures post for the week sorted -- a bit weird to write about Andy trying to befriend and adopt Sprig the cat when I already know Andy's going to be kicked out of the house for erasing his and Eric's relationship NEXT update. Also a bit annoying to run into one of those glitches where a post I've just finished won't queue and thus I have to redo it. *grumbles* Didn't help that I had the tireds this morning -- stupid period, and stupid brain for constantly either not letting me get to sleep easily and/or waking me up early. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
-->Went back to Nexus Mods for a quick look-around in the Fallout 4 section, have found a cool mod for the Minutemen that a) adds a lot of neat stuff with the Minutemen leveling with you, having actual uniforms, and generally being more awesome and b) fixes the radiant quest thing so you only get one at a time, and there's some cooldown between them, meaning I can actually talk to Preston. XD AND, from what I can see, bug reports are low, and people still enjoy it in 2020, so -- yeah! Think I found a big mod I feel okay installing! Isn't that a trip!
-->Did an indoor workout, because of the weather worsening over the day, and also some rando talking to a friend RIGHT on the edge of our driveway, meaning going outside was not recommended. Hmph.
-->On the YouTube front, we had:
->The usual "couple of companion react" videos from Fallout 4 – apparently Deacon was somewhere in the background of Fallout 3, as he comments on the Capital Wasteland and "Project Purity" cleaning up its water supply. Also, vertibirds are hella exciting for some companions (Preston, Cait) and hella terrifying for others (Deacon, X6-88 – yes, the Institute Courser who otherwise rarely shows emotion). XD Also watched a trailer for a mod that is supposed to take the Sole Survivor to Miami -- the creators are basically trying to make a full-on DLC pack, which is awesome and I wish them all the best with it. (It has killer flamingos, so you know it's cool.)
->Three videos from GrayStillPlays:
A) 112 Operator, where you control emergency services (police, fire, and paramedics) for a certain city and have to respond to various emergencies. Gray, of course, wanted to get as many people killed as possible. XD First run involved SWAT team members on horses; there was chaos, but not enough death, so Gray switched to single officers in Lambos with tasers. THAT resulted in a lot of "officers down." XD
B) Academia: School Simulator, where you build a school for children and have to make it the best school possible – except uniform options include prison, and one of the principals can be an ex-Yakuza. Gray promptly made a school that was literally formed from the letters of HELL and tormented his students in various ways (including trapping them in classrooms, providing only a single bathroom, and letting the school lunchlady poison them). They managed to come 1,001 out of 1,000 in the rankings. XD
C) More Drug Dealer Simulator! Gray has moved from trying to kill as many people as possible to making loads of money – mostly by combining heroin, Viagra, sugar, and baking powder into a mix he calls "Hand Sanitizer" (with +s added depending on how much Viagra's in it). It's, um, very popular. XD He's also gotten very good at making drug deals in front of police and then running away from them just in time. XD
->The latest "Fun With Shorts," featuring the "Venice of the North" – Stockholm! Which is apparently a bunch of islands in a large lake? Chalk that up to things I didn't know. . .boring short, fun mocking, as usual with that channel.
->More adventures of RT and Plumbella in LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 – more jokes about Hagrid and his umbrella abounded, along with them fighting over who gets to control what character. And tormenting poor Fang trying to get him up a ledge. XD SOMEHOW they got through the plot of Chamber of Secrets, and even earned "True Wizard" by collecting a ton of studs on a few of the levels. So yay, good for them! Now if only they could stop running each other over with plungers and cars. . .
->Plumbella on her own:
A) Playing more of the Bratz game, namely making an awful shirt for one of the gang; completely ruining the makeup of another; and pushing her cat to do silly and fun poses until it won a pet show. Also getting annoyed with all the male characters except Cameron, since they all want her to do stuff for them except him, who just wanted one friendly skating competition. :p Suppose there are worse virtual boyfriends?
B) Trying to figure out what the heck the SimGurus are up to on Twitter – apparently people are wondering if their recent tweeting of the letters in "Future Cube" means anything and if the cube can reveal the future of the franchise. I personally think that it didn't mean anything beyond "we're bored and hid the cube in some pictures of our Simselves working from home," but it's fun to watch Plumbella actually try the Future Cube and try to read something deeper in the responses. XD
Aaand -- that's about it, really. Been a busy yet pretty chill day. I can dig it. Tomorrow -- well, gonna be doing my best to focus on Fallout 4 -- finishing up the "modding" situation and -- hopefully -- starting up the game in some capacity. Even if it's just to check that it hasn't exploded from installing the mods I want to install. :p Also more videos to watch, and "Secundus 2" to work on. (Also have to see about doing a couple of gift fics this week -- maybe Thursday and Friday?) And maybe even sneak in some more fanfic, depending on how my morning goes. . .
Right now, though, I have to finish up the stuff in my inbox. Night all! Enjoy these last few minutes of Alice's Birthday! :p
