Longer Day At Work -- Conquered
May. 18th, 2020 11:26 pmIt was a bit stressful -- spent most of my day catching up on GL stuff and working on looking up checks that need extra steps to find out who "owns" them -- but I got through it with a minimum of pain. And I got those checks on, so they're out of my hair now, yay. Every little victory counts!
Back home at three, ended up staying in for my workout as it was cooler and cloudier than the past couple of days. (Also gave my nose a break from the trees -- my sinuses have been playing up something fierce lately. Stupid hayfever.) I'd INTENDED to try and sneak in another mini-FO4 session after putting in another mod, but got to wondering which mod it should be and ended up looking more stuff on load orders. *sigh* I'm glad I delayed, though, as I was able to pick up a recently-deployed patch for that quest mod I got the other day, "Tales from the Commonwealth," which fixes a bunch of visual oddities and broken precombines and whatnot. So now when I plonk that in, I shan't be dealing with all that! :) Trying not to fall too far down the mod rabbit hole though -- while it's super-fun to look at all the different little things people have put into the game, I'm trying to keep my mod experience light because a) I want a fairly stable game and b) I still haven't actually FINISHED the vanilla version, so it's probably best I don't change things up TOO much right away! Also c) load orders are still kind of baffling and I would really like it if someone would just set up mine for me. *grumbles*
Other things of note for this afternoon:
-->I got up all the pictures and starter text for my Wednesday Newcrest Adventures update after work, and did the picture captions after catching up on webcomics and whatnot. Just have to fill in text and tags now! It's a pretty short update -- three posts, one with only five pictures -- but I really didn't have much to do with Eric that day. At least future updates will be a little more interesting!
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice has managed to restore power and escape the VERY shaky, VERY steamy turbine room. Not without getting scalded in the process, sadly, but at least as a vampire she can heal herself more easily. Of course, there's no easy way to "refuel" in the Ocean House, so she'll have to be careful going forward. . .at least she gets a free ride back up to the top on Wednesday!
-->YouTube was primarily catching up on Linkara's review of the Attack of the Clones comic adaptation -- again, decent adaptation, but a lot of the movie's stupidity was reproduced, and the artwork had its fair share of "not great moments." Including Linkara cracking up at Dooku and Yoda's big lightsaber battle that made it look like they were just wagging the sabers in front of them like they were oversized glowsticks. XD It was great. I also snuck in a Mitten Squad video earlier this morning -- 5 Happiest Fallout Vaults. Generally vaults that either had less-than-lethal experiments, or were evacuated pretty early. Top of the list was FO4's 81, a shining example of what happens when the Overseer actually CARES about the people under her charge. No idea how she slipped through the cracks, but we're all the better for it. :)
Aaand -- that's really about it, honestly. Not a lot to report today. *shrug* Tomorrow will probably be more of the same, only the fic will be "Secundus 2" and I'll be catching up on rather more videos in the old Watch Later. Time to finish up what's in the inbox and hit the sheets -- two more days in the office! Hopefully they'll go by quick. . . Night all!
