Somewhat Stressful Tuesday
May. 19th, 2020 11:09 pmThought life was going to be fairly easy when I had a simple GL this morning. . .but then the e-mails started coming in, and I got a paper cut sorting the mail, and I got a number of phone calls where I had to look up stuff, and then lunch was interrupted by Fiscal dumping some new deposits on me (and then when I looked one of them up, I'd already DONE IT) and I sloshed my soup trying to make sure I'd properly disinfected the microwave, and I constantly felt like I was on the verge of running out of time for stuff and worrying about touching things and -- yeah. *sigh* Not a good day for the anxiety. I did my best to keep everything sanitized, and I did get a fair bit done -- all the GFGP checks on, and I cleared out the other two deposits Fiscal dropped off -- but still. Glad to get home and relax some. And put some moisturizer on my poor dried-out hands.
Not too much else of note for today, other than:
-->Got my Newcrest Adventures update completed, so I'm good for tomorrow on the Victor Luvs Alice side of the queuing, yay~
-->Did a little over a page and a half on "Secundus 2" Chapter 8 -- the gang has discussed relationships and courting length while watching Doc, and now everyone is proceeding to the dance floor after seeing Doc and Clara get on it. Victor with a touch of reluctance as he doesn't want to look an idiot, but Alice managed to soothe his fears a bit. :) Cue fun square dance scene and then a competition between Marty and Christopher! Hopefully you will all find it good stuff once it goes up.
-->The usual bunch of YouTube:
A) More Fluffy Ninja Llama videos – companion reactions to a nursing home run by robots, where naturally all the residents were dead in their beds (Deacon was like "at least they died in bed," while Hancock was like "dead in bed – worst way to go." And poor Codsworth sounded like he wanted to cry – I once again wonder why I can't hug the robot); and a quick video showing a random event you can encounter – a moonshiner accidentally blowing themselves up. And wonder of wonders – I've come across this myself! Reason being, it's near Jamaica Plain, and I wandered by the shack it happens in while doing mod testing with the Unofficial Patch. (Well, I SAY "mod testing," I was just making sure the game still RAN.) The explosion rather – threw me, I have to say. XD But it's a good little moment – for all of us except the moonshiner, anyway. . .
B) The new trailer for The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle! (Yeah, I think I called it Eco Living before, but that's the actual name. Just defaulted to "Living" after City Living and Island Living!) The voiceover was – well, it was trying a little too hard to be "down with the kids," but the actual gameplay looks interesting to me! And a blog post released recently promises that the eco-stuff is actually going to affect most other worlds in the game (with the exception of "Destination Worlds" that you vacation in, and StrangerVille because that has its own problems). People are still shitting on it, but – damn it, I think I might actually like this pack! Talk about being in the minority this time. . .
C) Modding 101 from Gamerpoets, because I want to know more about load orders for FO4 and how everything works. It was pretty informative – I've learned how Fallout 4 handles its files and how and why .esm and .esl files must load at the top (even if they're not technically .esms or .esls). Basically, my method of "just carefully load in each one at a time and then check for game implosion" seems to be the best way of going about this sort of thing. So I guess that's what I'll keep doing! Start with bugfixes and go from there, I guess. . .
D) Time for more GrayStillPlays! :D We had:
1. Episode, where FloridaMcMan ran for President on a platform of getting wasted, saving the turtles, and forcing infants to work. Also he announced the campaign via text, promoted himself with cheerleaders and cute dogs in handbags, and had sex with his (very willing) opponent's wife. And also some other random lady going door to door. He totally won, dooming us all. XD
2. Planet Coaster, where he built Herman the Roller Coaster Frog Volcano to "cure people of their fear of heights." XD This damn thing was spitting out SO MANY roller coasters by the time he was through. . .not to mention he reversed gravity on a bunch of stuntwomen to create a memorable entrance to his park. Though the piece de resistance? Definitely spelling out "You're fucked" in fireworks. XD
3. X-Plane 11, where we had more fun with launching planes into ridiculous scenarios. Like dropping an airbus from space! Or better yet, a glider! A glider whose wings turned to complete gelatin and FOLDED IN ON THEMSELVES. Better yet was when Gray started making custom planes, like a 747 with ultra-thrust, or an ultra-lite with 99,999 horsepower (which completely mucked up his game by flinging itself through the world XD Poor Gray apparently nearly went deaf from the noise of all the props he forced on it!). Oh, delightful. . .
And I'm currently fixing up my Valice Multiverse queue while catching up on tumblr tags. Usual evening stuff. Now I just have to finish up everything and head to bed. One more day at the office to get through. . .hopefully it's not too stressful! Fingers crossed, everybody. Night all!
