crossover_chick: Victor on the ground with one hand up with the text "Nooo! Anything but the fangirls!" (CB: save Victor from the fangirls!)

And, as usual, it wasn't anything too special -- I completed the roster maintenance I took home early, took care of a couple of other little things for my boss, and spent most of the rest of my day catching up on my tumblrs, trying to read a friend's fanfic (annoyingly, I only made it partway through the next chapter I need to review -- it just wasn't clicking with me as it's a fantasy story and my brain's currently stuck on sci-fi thanks to Fallout 4), and looking at Nexus Mods. Went ahead and added another to the list -- one that allows you to build baths, showers, toilets, and even some kitchen stuff for your settlements! I figured Sole Survivor Victor would appreciate a way to bathe. :) The same creators also had upgrades to the cooking stations, but I ended up passing on that -- they implement "logical cooking" with new expanded categories, which is cool, but I kind of like that I can cook everything at any sort of cooking station. I'm not that into immersion. Plus I'm worried about it interacting weirdly with my apple and pear recipes. I'll live with vanilla. I AM looking into some backpack mods, though -- that would be nice just to give Victor the proper look. Aaaand tempted to see if there's a mod out there that will let me properly adopt the "wounded mongrel" you can randomly encounter, heal, and name. I miss Mutt, as she was called in my game. I want her to be a permanent fixture of one of my settlements. :(

Anyway, other things of note for today:

-->Freaking hot -- it got up into the 80s! Proper summer, this. I actually only did about 32 laps on my walk around the yard today -- just too warm! I was sucking down water like crazy.

-->We played another round of our beanbag game -- I won the first one, then Dad tied me; then Dad won the second one, and I tied him (same score both times! 22); then Dad won the third one and I managed to make second after some close scores with Mom. Pretty nice -- and good to feel like I'm actually improving. :)

-->Youtube started out Fallout 4-based, then moved onto Keviny goodness:

A) A quick JuiceHead video on a "secret" in Fallout 4 that apparently Todd was surprised the community hadn't found a few months after the game came out, but has been discovered by now according to one of the other people who worked on the game. Unfortunately, said person didn't say what the secret actually was, so the video was largely speculating on which fan theories it could be (Juice settled on "P.A.M. the predictive robot faked an attack by the Chinese and set off the Great War," which is – dark, but that's Fallout for you?).

B) Two videos on the best way to go about achieving the Minuteman ending in Fallout 4 that allows for a (probably tense but still) peace between the three remaining factions (Brotherhood of Steel, Minutemen, and Railroad) – one a bit shorter but with some more specifics on the quests you can and can't do, one longer with more talk about the stuff you can do afterward if you pull this off). Turns out you can do a LOT of the quests for each faction before turning to the Minutemen – you only have to fail the ones that essentially lock you into the ending for each faction (Mass Fusion for the Institute, Tactical Thinking for the BoS, and Underground Undercover for the Railroad – and that one you can at least START, you just can't finish it because you need to be banished from the Institute). It's pretty cool, and leads to a situation where you can still do quests for all the factions remaining, with them all glad to see you. I dunno if I'll pull this off exactly in my own playthrough – if only because I don't think Victor's going to do much with the Brotherhood – but it's good information to have!

C) And then it was Call Me Kevin Time!

1. Tomodachi Life provided him with a whole island for Turg, Jim, and Default (the most bland Mii in the world) to live on and make friends! The episode was mostly Kevin cracking up over how Turg and company talked and moved (twerking is very popular on this island), feeding his Miis jelly and spaghetti, and having Turg sing an opera about himself. XD

2. Imagine Lifetimes provided him with not one, but TWO chances at a better life for himself! He – promptly tried to buy a house too early in the first life, and only BARELY escaped Poverty Hangman (yup, this is a minigame in this one), then somehow managed to successfully find a partner and, after a couple of tries, have a baby. And then we switched to the baby, who traveled the world, got a good banking job, got married, and then retired and played with a lamp until they died. XD Also, this game has the grossest sound effects – it starts with a sperm fertilizing an egg, and the SQUELCHING. . .eugh.

3. Episode provided him with "hey, if you want to do anything cool in this Love Island rip-off, you gotta pony up the dough!" Yeah, uh, turns out there's a side to Episode I hadn't seen with Gray's videos, and that's the "trying to guilt you into microtransactions" side. Sheesh, where the hell are my Floridaman-themed funtimes? (Apparently in "User Stories," which one has to unlock. . .hmmm.)

4. Family Man provided him with a partner named Patchy (who has an eyepatch), a son he named Butter, and a terrible debt to the mob thanks to his best friend Bobby getting him mixed up in organized crime! Yes, this is a surprisingly dark game, and it only gets darker if you do things like kill a boar in hand-to-tusk combat. Or knock a guy out, though that depends on if he's a "ruffian" or not. :p Plus you have to take care of your struggling family, and do jobs around the world to gain money to pay off your debts. It's pretty interesting, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of it.

-->I wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice has found the newspaper about the child "chopped up like firewood," the family's room with the creepy picture, and the room where everything gets thrown at you while you try to retrieve the right key. :p She's not exactly having a fun time. In fact, I get the feeling she'd fistfight Ed if she could -- she doesn't have much love for anyone who hurts children, after all. I've already decided that, when she gets the ax from the elevator (after Ed tries to drop it on her), she's not keeping it -- she's in fact turning it over to Therese to make damn sure he gets exorcised and dragged off to his rightful punishment. It was a useful weapon in-game, but Alice is better with a knife herself, and I pretty much ditched it after getting the sledgehammer anyway. (And then the sledgehammer was superseded by my swords. . .)

-->And I'm currently wrapping up my Valice Multiverse queue and getting ready to answer what's in the inbox before heading over to the Friday Night Writing Thing. While trying not to be further distracted by Nexus Mods. XD Seriously, even though I have no intention of actually downloading most of them, they're so fun to look at. . .

Anyway! Focusing on Sims 4 tomorrow -- I have a lot of Eco Lifestyle info to catch up on (though I did read what's on Sims VIP -- apparently the vertical garden can be upgraded to provide SYNTHETIC MEAT) and some playing to actually do in the game! Though, given what I currently have for custom content, I may be doing some Fallout 4 stuff anyway. . . :p Night all!
