Yes, I didn't QUITE accomplish all I was planning to today, and I think I can pin the cause down to two reasons:
-->Changing my sheets turned into more of an adventure today, because Mom wanted to wash the mattress pad, and I threw in my blankets as well. So I had to do the whole process in two separate parts, which naturally ate up more of my day (both morning and afternoon. . .didn't help that I had my usual slow start to the morning)
-->I ended up spending nearly three hours in Sims 4 because I decided I wanted to start a new game file and put Sims versions of Sole Survivor!Victor and Malkavian Fledgling!Alice in it. I spent almost all of that time just getting SS!Victor's clothes sorted. *facepalm* In my defense, A) I did at least three outfits for all of the categories; B) I had to sort out an issue with one of my custom content pieces where it was putting weird textures on other pieces of clothing (aka I can't have the Pip-Boy equipped with anything that isn't his vault suit); C) I was relying on my iPad to look up outfits from Fallout 4 so I could try and make equivalents in CAS, and -- well, my iPad is slow and Safari likes to constantly reload pages, so it was a process trying to look at the pictures. I DID eventually get him all settled, added the Dogmeat I'd found on the Gallery, moved him into Brindleton Bay (as that currently feels like the most "Commonwealthy" world -- I believe the inspiration for a lot of the styles there WAS New England), and did a quick money cheat so I could then give him the copy of the Fallout 4 house I found on the Gallery. XD And then I started replacing items in it with the custom content I downloaded a while back, and then I had to just save and tear myself away so I could actually do other stuff. XD I'm pretty happy with my handiwork, though! Probably will take some time to finish the house on another day where I don't have to keep up with Newcrest Adventures -- the version I have is the pre-war version, and now I'm thinking that I might try to make it look more post-war and make it an off-the-grid lot. Because, well, this Victor is supposed to be POST-Vault 111, after all. . .
Anyway, I did get a few other things off my list for today, mainly:
-->I watched at least a few of the videos I wanted to catch up with, Sims-wise:
A) A video from Carl's Sims Guides on the new base game features coming to Sims 4 with the patch that will drop before Eco Lifestyle is officially released (fire department! ladders! upgraded bills that track utilities! sortable Sim inventory! neighborhood tags for worlds released before City Living!). It's all pretty awesome stuff, and I'm quite looking forward to it! :)
B) James's latest "Rags To Repayment" episode! Bob FINALLY got promoted to the level he needed to be at to upgrade the cloning machine (though it took James a little while to figure out just HOW one does that – he thought he'd get a prompt through a breakthrough, when really it's just something you do via the invention machine), and – with the prompting of a work goal – cloned himself! Said clone was named Darrell, and was promptly locked in a terrible deep basement room to set off fireworks and die to summon Grim so Trash could chat Grim up and ask him to move in. There were a few hitches in the plan – the Servo extinguishing the fire through the fence James had put up to keep the others out, forcing him to build a wall instead; Trash catching on fire on her way down to check the body because the fire spread – fortunately she was able to self-extinguish; and Grim not even having the option to become a roommate until one of the other roommates was kicked out (I guess the lot was technically at max?) – but eventually the option was secured, and Grim is officially one of the roommates! :D Now Bob just has to get with Elsa, as per fan request, and this portion of the Bigwallet series is pretty much complete!
C) James's hour-long overview of the build/buy stuff available in Eco Lifestyle – he has an early access version of the pack, so he's able to fiddle around with all of it early. There's a lot of interesting items on display – tons of craftable furniture, things you can find dumpster-diving (including recreations of Sims 1 items! Specifically, a chair, a table, and a tiny TV), new candle-making and fizzy-drink-making stations, wind turbines, solar panels. . .and lots and lots of doors and windows with weird chunky frames that – yeah, dunno how often I'll be using those. But then again, I don't build a lot ANYWAY, so. . . I'm really here for stuff like the vertical garden and the living roof. I think stuff like that will go well with my new Fallout 4 Victor. :p
D) And GrayStillPlays's latest Sims 4 experiment – he has discovered Basemental's drug mod, everyone. Things will never be the same. Except that they're totally the same as Gray is CONSTANTLY screwing things up for his Sims. He's just doing it in a more illegal manner this time. XD That being said, there IS a new addition to the family – Turnip the dog! Who has a red head of apparently exposed brain and an aggressive attitude. He'll fit right in. XD Anyway, Sims making bad decisions, massive amounts of pool death, an unexpected survivor in a fabulous mustache – usual Gray nonsense. Also, the video was sponsored by Raython earbuds, so Gray froze them in a block of ice and then smashed it with a hammer to show how durable they are. I guess it's good publicity? XD
-->I got a little more written on "An Introductory Guide To Magic" -- another "sidebar" covering the extremes of how much magic people can have (I've put the numbers at one thaum (meaning you can't cast any spells because even the weakest would burn you out) and one thousand thaums (meaning you basically can do anything as long as you've got the ingredients). I was hoping to get more, but see the above on changing my sheets -- it cut into my writing time, and I really wanted to have enough time to get through that build-buy video and Gray experiment, soo. . . It's something, though! Better than some days I've had with that story. . .
And now I'm trying to keep up with tumblr messages, tumblr tags, and some of the RP thing. Typical Saturday night, really. Tomorrow, more Fallout 4 mod installation and testing! Hopefully nothing shatters into a million pieces. . . Night all!

Date: 2020-05-25 02:54 am (UTC)Heh, yeah, so was I -- suppose it's better to have steady employment and guaranteed benefits, but still. You go get that early birthday present -- I'm looking forward to picking it up myself.
