Another Quieter Thursday

crossover_chickWhich I appreciated -- more time to get some of those checks on and deal with different issues. Such as why some companies have to be so freaking complicated with the money they distribute. I have to track down so many weird little reports for some of them. . . *sigh* At least I've made a decent dent in the gift backlog. I'll keep working on that tomorrow, and hopefully end May on a high note for work. Still waiting to see what the schedule will look like in June. . .dunno if we'll go back to full hours right away, but I wouldn't be surprised if we went back to five-day weeks. Or maybe bring back some staff? I could use a hand trying to catch up on the "not processing checks" side of the equation. . . *shrug* Maybe alternate who is in the office and who isn't, I dunno. I'm just happy tomorrow's Friday.
It was kind of a gray, drizzly day today as well -- it was misting when I left for work this morning, and never really improved beyond the sun peeking occasionally through the clouds. Humid too -- I ended up staying in and working out to my computer rather than doing laps, simply because the latter option seemed more unpleasant. Tomorrow's supposed to be more of the same, weather-wise, so we'll see what happens there. And then Saturday sprinkles, possible afternoon thunderstorm. . .at least it's supposed to be nicer, if a bit cooler, after!
Okay, important stuff of the afternoon:
-->Answered a friend's FF.net message while checking my work e-mail for any last-minute pings
-->Worked some more on Chapter 8 of "Secundus 2" -- we're through the gun battle, and a trick shot has earned Christopher a holster! Now we just have to have Marty get his canonical Peacemaker and we'll be all set to head to the buffet XD
-->Today in YouTube – CALL ME KEVIN MARATHON! I was six videos behind, so I decided to wipe them all out in one go:
A) Minecraft Hardcore: Kevin's seed continues to be blessed – more villagers with fertile farms to steal from; sugar cane in easy reach; a stronghold with lots of saddles and golden horse armor; and even a lovely (if slow) horse for him to ride! In this world, all the best things happen to the bastard who goes around happily taking everyone's shit. XD
B) West of Loathing: Have you heard of the online RPG game Kingdom of Loathing? Well, this is the Western version. XD Kevin chose to be a cowpuncher, and has already killed a goblin lurking in the depths of the saloon, captured two gangs through the power of brass knuckles/killing guys while they're asleep, and picked up Google the horse (who has seen things) and Crazy Pete as his sidekick. Just another day in the stick figure Wild West! XD
C) Tomodachi Life: We're back on the island, and everything remains so freaking weird. Kevin is really getting into having his characters sing songs – watching him crack up at them is delightful. :D He's added Grognak the Destroyer and a mini-version of himself to the island now too. Mini-Kevin is constantly sad, and hates Peking Duck enough to melt into the floor when he eats it. Kevin was -- a little surprised, to say the least. XD
D) Family Man: We're back to taking care of our family while also trying to keep the mob happy. And also stealing lemons, beating up priests, taking part in a terrible play to help a guy stalk his love interest, and forging a signature on some forms for the mayor so he can take over some old lady's land. Basically, his karma is WAAAAY down there. But did we expect anything less from Kevin? XD He's probably gonna end up taking over the mob at this rate. . .
E) Episode: Yup, we're back to this – and we're finally in the good, user-created stuff! . . .After Kevin coughed up some money to unlock full access, poor guy. He tried out a zombie apocalypse story set in a high school, and made himself "Clown Car," who -- well, you can probably imagine what she looks like. XD Kevin TRIED building up his cred with local "bad boy with bad earrings" Cody, but kept getting stymied by a) the zombies, b) the episodes ending with terrible deaths, and c) the game STILL trying to hit him up for more cash! Cripes, Gray, where do you find those awesome free versions Floridaman haunts?? (Or are you spending tons on this awful mobile game without us knowing?)
F) Death Coming: The puzzle game made for Kevin – find all the death traps and rack up the most kills! All while avoiding the angel police. XD Kevin took a LOT of joy in electrocuting people in pools, getting them abducted by aliens, drenching them in corrosive acid, and setting reanimated dinosaurs on them. And we took joy in seeing him do it. XD
-->And most of the rest of the evening has been talking to folks on tumblr and catching up with the Valice Multiverse queue -- now I've got to answer the comment waiting in the inbox and head to bed. One more day! Hopefully it's not too painful. . .night all!
