Saturday Took A Different Turn
May. 30th, 2020 11:36 pmIn two areas, in fact:
Weather: The prophesied gloom and rain never materialized. It was actually pretty damn nice out today! Windows open, sun shining, all that good stuff. I still took the day off doing yard laps because a) second day of my period and b) my two other sports bras were drying so I needed to make sure I had one for tomorrow, but I did pop outside to hang up and then retrieve said sports bras from the line. I'm glad -- it's good to have summery weather. Makes everything a little brighter.
Gaming: I, uh, didn't actually do any. ^^; This is what happened -- I woke up a bit late, made my smoothie, then cleaned until lunchtime at one. We watched Taskmaster with lunch, which is a 45-minute show, and then I had to help clean up the lunch dishes, so I didn't get back to finishing up my cleaning until around 2, and didn't actually finish until after 2:30. And while I was vacuuming, I had a discussion with myself -- would it be better to try and fit both YouTube and gaming into the window of time between now and supper? Or would I rather just try and catch up on as much YouTube as I could and do a double-dose of gaming tomorrow, when I don't have to do any cleaning?
Yeah, second option won out -- I figured, I'd have a bit more time tomorrow to get through both my final day with Eric Embers in Sims 4 and test some mods in Fallout 4, even with my usual screwing around online and such. And I really wanted to catch up on some of the videos in my subscriptions! Did a good job of it too:
A) One Fluffy Ninja Llama video – some holotapes over at the Atom Cats' garage of their poetry readings! Yeah, they're a group of essentially post-apocalyptic power-armor-based greasers, who really like free verse. XD The poems were fun, though the third one was just one of their mechanics, Rowdy, getting stage fright. Poor thing. . . I have to find this lot in-game – they seem fun, and you can even join up with them if you know how! Which – I don't, but I assume it involves a quest. Possibly saving their butts from monsters, I dunno. Something to consider for the future!
B) From James Turner –
1. The ending episode of "Rags to Repayment!" Grim agreed to be a roommate last episode (and fortunately stayed a roommate after James deleted his bed in an attempt to give him a room upgrade with a fancy bed and an attic room with a coffin), so all that was really left to do was age Ambrose up and get Bob together with Elsa! The latter proved to be a little difficult, thanks to Bob's intense sadness over the death of his clone, but he eventually managed to charm her, and Elsa officially joined the family and became Bob's fiancee. Who knows if they'll ever get married, but hey – the people have gotten what they want, and Ambrose is almost officially ready to take on the Eco Lifestyle Rags to Riches LP! (I say "almost" as he obviously can't be assigned any of the new traits or anything just yet – James will have to edit those later!)
2. The next two episodes of "Wax To Riches," his mini-LP with the early access version of Eco Lifestyle and "James Burner." Though the title has become a bit of a misnomer, as by episode 3, James was focusing a lot more on the juice-fizzing side of things. Did you know that one can fizz TRASH FRUIT? XD "Bin Juice," he called it – appetizing, right? XD He DID get a little bit back into candle-making in episode 4, but yeah, the juice fizzing is definitely the star of the show. Burner also successfully stole a couch and stereo off a neighbor, crafted some rugs for his freelance career with the help of the Willow Creek library (to talk to clients on the computers there) and the Fabricator on the empty crane house lot, and created herbal kombucha and "ToFizz" (a tofu drink from soybeans) for other clients. Heidi, meanwhile, has been assigned dumpster-diving and yard sale duties. She finds some good stuff from time to time – a nice desk, and the special Sims 1 TV. :D They're still struggling to keep up with their needs, but they've graduated to having a fenced-in lot for their "living room," and an actual walled space for an office! James WANTED to do a full container build, but it would have cost too much – the "office" basically holds the desk, the cheapest computer, and nothing else at this point. XD They're getting there!
C) A Fun With Shorts on flower pollination – which was actually pretty interesting! Better with Josh's riffs, of course, but I feel like I did learn something about how plants self-pollinate, and how cross-pollination happens between certain types of flowers and trees. Good stuff!
D) Ended up rewatching RTGame trying to get Akinator to guess who he is because I recalled it being funny (genie guessed Pewdiepie twice, Call Me Kevin once, some other YouTuber once, and "Your Own Character" once before hitting RT – RT was quite annoyed)
So yeah, that just leaves one thing left in my subscriptions -- still got a bit in my Watch Later, but I'm hoping to clear some of that tomorrow, so. . .it's all working out pretty well, in my opinion!
Only other thing of note I did today was another chunk on "An Introductory Guide To Magic" -- again, didn't write as much as I would have liked, but I got a few paragraphs on burnout, and started a section on magical auras and how they're cool. Blaming slow writing today on my period, which occasionally makes the words hard. But I'm gonna see this through to the end, come hell or high water!
All right, time to finish up answering comments and seeing about the Valice Multiverse. Tomorrow -- well, washing the car is on the list (Mom asked for my help, and seeing as she and Dad are gonna gas it up for me. . .), as is some laps around the yard later. But I should be able to fit in Sims 4 and Fallout 4, along with a couple of videos. (Mainly hoping to knock out the FO4-related videos, and my OXBox stuff.) And then Monday it's back to the grind. . .still trying to look at it like "lunch break and no homework." *shrug* Night all!
