Pretty Chill Sunday
May. 31st, 2020 11:18 pmSemi-literally -- it was a nice sunny day, but it was definitely cooler than the last couple of days -- and windier! I had to put on a hoodie briefly because of those two factors, but only briefly. Tomorrow promises to be more of the same, which -- you know, it's fine with me. I like decently-warm days with cooler nights -- I tend to sleep better if I can bundle up a bit more, I've found. Part of the reason I haven't put away my big purple blanket despite it being June tomorrow -- I like having it in the bed, even just all folded up against my back, as a comfort thing. (Though maybe that's also just because 2020 is the year of shit and awful and the more stuff I can use as comfort items, the better.)
Anyway! It was a pretty good Sunday, overall -- didn't get quite as much watched as I hoped to on YouTube, but I still accomplished a fair bit:
-->Played the beanbag game with the family post-lunch -- Dad won the first two games, and then I managed to win the third thanks to a few good throws. :D So that was satisfying. It's fun to have something to do in the yard -- lets us enjoy the sunshine and have a game to play, since we can't really go OUT anywhere this year. Though the beanbags themselves need some shoring up -- the felt's getting holes in it. Ah well, Mom said she'd try to fix them up/make new ones this week. . .
-->YouTube today was largely Fallout 4-focused, with a quick bit of Sims 4 near the end:
A) A video on how to do the Bunker Hill quest in FO4 without angering any of the factions or getting kicked out of the Institute early (although, if you DO want to burn your bridges with them then, the dialogue that gets you kicked out is featured at the end of the video). Good little tutorial of sorts of how to handle the mission, especially when it comes to freeing the synths. Have to keep it in mind for when I get up to that point in my own game!
B) Another video on how to get the "peaceful Railroad-Brotherhood of Steel-Minutemen" ending, focusing on the conversations you can have with the three remaining factions post-ending (mainly focused on the BoS). Most people are pretty happy with how things turned out, which is good. Though I kind of want to smack BoS member Quinlan for saying that using the Minutemen as "cannon fodder" to protect BoS lives was good. *grumble* I don't want to shoot the Prywden down because, you know, kids on it, but damn if this doesn't confirm Victor's not gonna be doing much with the Brotherhood of Steel!
C) A video on goofy glitches and interesting occurrences playing Fallout 4 – featuring a guy getting freaked out by surprise ghouls and such at least 8 times, dealing with his first super mutant suicider (and getting murdered by the mutants in Medford Memorial SO MANY TIMES), having surprise raider attacks while telling settlers he's handled their raider problems, and going flying thanks to physics in this game being totally broken. It was delightful. XD And included the super-cute moment where Mr. Zwicky marries Miss Edna, his Miss Nanny robot teaching companion, awww~ (Dude NUKED them right afterward, but hey – was still cute.)
D) The next episode of "Wax To Riches" from James, as he tries to hurry along to the mini-series conclusion because he only has (or HAD, I should say – all of this was filmed May 14th, apparently) a limited time with his early access Eco Lifestyle pack. You know the computer he bought at the end of last episode? Stolen at the beginning of this one thanks to that "sharing is caring" action plan he implemented. XD James was so SALTY. But, fortunately, a couple trips to the library later, he actually got "promoted" in the Freelancer career and got a bonus, so he was able to not only buy back the computer, but make his little shipping container office, complete with recycling machine and fabricator! He also finally took a few candle-making gigs, only to discover making candles takes AGES and thus it's probably smarter time-wise to just keep making kombucha for cash, at least in the career. He's also moving into fabricated furniture to make money faster – we'll see if he manages to achieve his hoped-for end goal, moving into the little crane house, in Part 6!
-->I did play both games as well!
A) Sims 4 -- just finished up Eric's week with another day at work (he picked up a vandalism case and analyzed a bunch of evidence -- was hoping for a promotion, but no go), followed by a trip to the Spice Festival because 1) it was the pop-up "Night On The Town" holiday and going was an easy way to fulfill that and 2) I hadn't been in a while and it seemed like a fun thing to do. Eric did not beat the Spice Challenge, but he had fun blowing on the bubble blower, so that was good. XD And hey, nice to end one of my cycles right before a patch and new expansion pack drops! I have a good buffer as I wait for stuff to update and make sure nothing broke terribly.
B) Fallout 4 -- I'd hoped to add in more mods, but due to time constraints I ended up just testing out the "Campsite" mod more, heading down to the Red Rocket in one of my testing saves (using the "early days" Victor), picking up Dogmeat, then working around to the Chem bench and making a tent, a couple of fire kits, a cooking pot, a sleeping bag, a cloth wall, and a dog bed to carry along with me. (Had to kill a lot of mole rats to get all the leather needed, that was for sure! Fortunately, raiding their den gave me the opportunity to give Dogmeat a teddy bear and watch him play with it XD) Went exploring, got killed once by some raiders, reloaded and redid a few things, then found a place to camp and set down my stuff. The fire, cooking pot, sleeping bag, and tent all worked fine -- I didn't get a chance to test out the dog bed, as I accidentally told Dogmeat to "stay" so I could trade with him and didn't rescind the order, and when I dropped the dog bed I couldn't find it. O.o I'm thinking that was me dropping it in a bad spot, as everything else seemed fine. *shrug* I'm happy with it, so I endorsed it and picked up another mod from the same author -- the "Mobile Mechanic," with a portable crafting and scrapping bench. :D If that goes well, maybe I'll even try out the weather mod from the same guy -- "True Storms" seems to have quite the following, after all!
-->Did 40 laps around the house, which was good -- this kind of weather is great for walking. You work up a sweat, but you don't feel totally gross afterward. I like.
-->Did some more on Chapter 8 of "Secundus 2" -- Marty has gotten his canonical gun belt, and Richard has not had a good time with Mr. Starkey. XD The buffet should help soothe his pride, at least until shit starts going down. . .
-->And I just finished up my Valice Multiverse queue for tomorrow -- nothing too painful, yay~
Aaand that's about it! Just gotta answer the last comment in my inbox, and then head to bed. Work tomorrow -- full day too. *deep breath in and out* Hoping it won't stress me out too much. . .feels like most of my life is lived with some sort of anxiety lately. Too much happening in the world. :( I'm just doing the best I can. Gonna make sure to take all my breaks tomorrow, and remind myself that I don't have to worry about doing any work stuff once I get home. We'll just see how it goes! Night all!
