I did end up getting up kind of early, then going back to sleep for a while this morning -- needed to hit the bathroom, which makes sense after sucking down a glass of water writing last night. Have discovered that putting my music back on again after the trip to the necessary makes it easier to actually get some proper shut-eye (usually what ends up happening is me lying there trying get to sleep, but my brain is JUUUST too busy making up story stuff). So that's good, I suppose? :p
Anyway, got up properly a little after ten, proceeded to hang around in my nightgown drinking my breakfast smoothie until a little after eleven, then got dressed and mucked around on the computer catching up on tumblr tags and the like until lunchtime. Then after lunch we went out and played the beanbag game! I, uh, lost every round. ^^; To be fair, it was SUPER hot and humid most of the day today, which WAS kind of distracting. But really, the main problem was I was overthinking most of my throws, trying to figure out what worked. Gotta remember to just aim for the board and not try to make a big deal out of it!
And then, after that, I got largely distracted by Fallout 4 Nexus Mods until I remembered that I was supposed to be doing something productive. XD What can I say, I am easily amused. But I did:
-->Knock a few things off of YouTube and out of my Watch Later list:
A) Carl's Sim Guides goes over all the new features in the base game pre-Eco Lifestyle patch that dropped on the third – firefighters, inventory management, Off-The-Grid and bill updates, the works. Interestingly, while there is no alternate way to get power in the base game, you CAN at least get water for your plumbing if you're Off-The-Grid. Just go to your nearest fishing spot and scoop some up! XD I'm looking forward to pairing some of this with the new pack once all my mods update and I'm sure the bugs aren't gonna destroy my game.
B) Plumbella renovates one of the new apartments in Eco Lifestyle's Evergreen Harbor, taking a rather bleh starter home and making into something quite nice. :) Though she did have to get rid of a bunch of decorations because she ended up running out of money before the final bedroom. XD Still, it turned out well in the end, and she got plenty of chances to slag off EA on their building techniques (at least until SimGuruNinja joined her Twitch chat and she had to get nice XD).
C) Plumbella tries again to smog everything up in Evergreen Harbor, after being told by the Gurus that she really needs to get more lots in on the action if she wants Industrial footprints everywhere. She did her best, filling all available lots with as many fireplaces and generators as possible, and blocking green initiatives at every turn. . .but she could only ever get the two non-Industrial neighborhoods down to Neutral, and by the end of the episode, not only had one of them reverted back to Green, the Industrial neighborhood had gone Neutral! Sheesh! I mean, yeah, trying to get everything as green as possible is how I would play, but still. Let Plumbella have her fun, yo! The comments told her that it's the Civil Engineer career that apparently really does the trick, soo I guess a part three shall be forthcoming soon. . .
D) Time for a quick Gray Still Plays marathon!
1. Ark Survive, a game about essentially being Noah and needing to survive 40 days on an ark full of animals. What the game doesn't tell you is that these animals are messed up. Chinchillas are having affairs with cats. The monkeys want to get swole and will riot if you don't let them. Orcs are present and rocking the boat (the comments theorize the game meant ORCAS, but still). Oh, and there are like fifty MILLION ways to die, including accepting a massage from God, and asking for His help with a goose bite and getting your blood turned to wine. You know a game is good when Gray goes from trying to find every way to die to trying to find a way to live to the end. XD
2. Episode, cult edition! Floridaman of Budliteology manages to get kicked out of the cult he was already in, and so takes his love interest Amanda and founds his OWN cult. Gray started off with a polygamous cult of doctors and nurses, which led the other cult to leave town, then tried a destructive cult with both senior citizens (not very good fighters – and when Floridaman and Amanda tried to do the violence themselves, they were caught by the old cult leader) and high schoolers (TOO good of fighters who kept hurting each other; Floridaman and Amanda just gave up then), went back to a medical polygamy cult and accidentally caused a baby boom, then did a doomsday cult with the high schoolers – which ACTUALLY ENDED WITH A METEOR HITTING EARTH. XD I don't know WHERE he finds these things, but they're AMAZING.
3. Episode, quarantine edition! Floridamanitis decides he refuses to spend quarantine alone in his apartment and goes out looking for good times and hot women. There's actually a level system with this one, where the goal is to have fun but avoid commitments. Gray had him sleep his way through the first few weeks of quarantine with random ladies (and one gym owner) and won, then won by avoiding sex but not getting sick or getting tied down. He only lost when he randomly adopted some lady's dog she left behind in the park, because a pet counts as a serious relationship (* The More You Know~*). Featured a special cameo from President FloridaMcMan! XD
-->Played some more Fallout 4 and finally got a look at my "Mobile Mechanic" workbench in action! It was a near thing, though -- some thunderstorms rolled through late this afternoon, and there was this huge crack of thunder when I booted up the game that forced me to immediately quit and turn off my computer for a while. And then the game froze when I tried to reload it, so I had kill it through the task manager, then go back to a slightly earlier save to actually get my level up (achieved by finding some new locations and killing a bunch of Mirelurks and raiders). Got the Scrapper perk, fast-traveled back to the Red Rocket for the chem bench, and built a couple of kits to test out the workbench. Works fine, as far as I can see -- I was able to scrap stuff down to its base components and mod the new synth helmet I picked up! So that's all pretty cool. :) The one thing that concerns me is, I stopped at Jamaica Plain to see if they had a chem bench before fast-traveling to the Red Rocket -- and they seem to be missing a garden plot and an apple tree. O.o I don't know if the tree has gone MISSING, or if the save I'm on didn't have me actually plant the tree -- I DID get killed by Mirelurks shortly after doing that bit of gardening, so I could have been reverted to a point before I did it and then forgot. I guess best thing to do is check if Abernathy still has their trees? Do that tomorrow. . .
-->Wrote a bit more on "An Introductory Guide To Magic" -- closer to a page this time! Added a bit to the "burnout" section, did the section on magical auras, and I'm currently doing a "common terms for magic-users" section. Getting a bit back into the groove here -- mostly because I'm doing more listy stuff, which is what I feel most comfortable with concerning this kind of thing. I'll make it all work one day!
-->And I just got my queue done on Victor Luvs Alice for the next couple of days, including reblogging some nice new fanart of the Forgotten Vows Verse -- on Victor's birthday no less, yay~
Aaand there's currently not a lot happening online, so I'm gonna answer some comments and PMs that need answering. Tomorrow -- supposed to be drier and a bit cooler, so that'll be good. Probably gonna have another round of beanbag game, and gonna get in yard laps. Also want to try and get in the OXBox/OXtra videos I've had piling up, more Fallout 4 (thinking it might be time to either slot in the Vault 88 stuff or the "make your own bathrooms" stuff), and of course more "Secundus 2" Chapter 8. Wish me luck in not getting distracted by all the things! Night all!
