One of those days where I expected to get a lot more done online, but a combination of various factors -- including TV Tropes, rereading portions of Going Postal (probably my favorite Discworld book), reading through various people's tumblrs, and getting accidentally sucked back into reading an arc from one of my webcomics -- means that, well, I didn't. *facepalm* I know it's not the end of the world that I didn't watch all the YouTube videos that I wanted to watch, or to take some time to browse a favorite blog or two, but -- meh. I wish I was a little more focused on weekends these days. (And then I look at the state of the world and think 'maybe I should just be grateful I can accomplish anything at all. . .')

Anyway, things I DID accomplish today:

-->Caught up on a few YouTube videos! Including:

A) Two CollegeHumor "CEO" sketches -- they do these in response to shady business practices from companies (JUUL advertising to kids) or depressing realities (GoFundMe being used in large part to fundraise against medical debt) and take them to absurd conclusions (like JUUL coming out with a "carrying case" that's literally a children's lunchbox, and every "fun" GoFundMe turning out to have something depressing to do with medical debt), with the CEO character being appropriately horrified or beaten down. JUUL one was funny, GoFundMe one ended up being more sad than amusing. And that one was posted on my birthday last year! So that's interesting, at least to me. :p

B) Plumbella doing Evergreen Harbor renovations in Eco Lifestyle -- she ended up just knocking down an absolutely terrible mansion and rebuilding the house from the ground up. It came out really nice, though! She struggled with designing a nice carport, where to put the stairs to the second floor, and nearly gave the lesbian parents separate bedrooms (she thought one of them was a teenager), but she got through all those issues and created a lovely little house. :) Looking forward to seeing the updated world when she's done!

C) James Turner's latest EA-sponsored Eco Lifestyle video, which was taking Port Promise, which starts out as the token "Industrial" area in Evergreen Harbor, and making it "Green!" How do you do this? Giant roofs full of solar panels, as many dew collectors and wind turbines as you can fit, and trees. LOTS AND LOTS OF TREES. XD He managed to get four of the five lots to "Green" with this method -- the lone holdout was the local bar, which refused to budge off "Neutral" no matter what he did. But it was more than enough to change the whole area to green -- along with some cheated "Green Initiatives" and "Modern Look" Neighborhood Action Plans. XD Just a bit of silliness, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

-->I fired up Sims! My mods have been checked and updated accordingly, and I just did some low-key testing today to see how things were working with the new patch. So far, so good! Test save ran well, anyway -- I played a couple of days of that version of Geeker McTest, out in Oasis Springs, and nothing exploded. Also took a moment to scope out all the new neighborhood tags added! They're pretty cool, though two in Willow Creek have typos from what I can see. *sigh* And it does kind of throw into stark relief just how big the older worlds are, compared to the newer worlds. Meeeh. Ah well -- I still like the game, and I still intend to play it for the time being. Tomorrow maybe I can see how things are going in Newcrest Adventures. :)

-->I got Chapter 8 of "Secundus 2" up and posted! Which, uh, took WAY longer than anticipated, both because of its length, and because I took a break partway through for that last video and webcomic catch up, which included the spontaneous reading of the arc. *sigh* But I DID get it up, and now I can move onto Chapter 9! Which, if I recall correctly, SHOULD be one of the shorter chapters, so that's good. If I can complete "Secundus 2" this year, I'll count it as the One Definitely Good Thing Of 2020. (God knows I need one.)

-->And now I'm just doing more catch-up and looking for an online Father's Day card to send Dad (fortunately we already bought his present long before this whole mess started). Took the night off RP because of the whole overly-long chapter thing, so I just have to put the asks I got into the queue. Tomorrow -- well, Father's Day stuff, but I am DETERMINED to, if nothing else, catch up on "Rags To Redevelopment." Maybe fit in some GrayStillPlays too -- I have a LOT of his videos piling up in the Watch Later queue. *kind of wishes she was working from home again like she was before and thus had lots more time to do all the things she wanted to* The lockdown wasn't GREAT, but at least I wasn't so anxious about the damn disease and had something resembling a healthy sleep schedule. Meh. 2020 for you. . .

Anyway -- time to get some queuing done, answer the stuff in my inbox, all that fun stuff. Oh, and the Father's Day card. I'm not sure how to gussy up his present, though. . .maybe we have a bag big enough? *shrug* I'll figure out something. Night all!

I did not see any typoes, but then again I read it at 1am. Now that I'm a part of Ao3 I get a notification when you post. XD
