Saturday Of Getting To Things Late
Jun. 27th, 2020 11:30 pmStarting with getting up late -- I went to bed officially a little after two (2:17, I want to say), and ended up not getting up until 10:20. Which, hey, is good for getting enough sleep for a change, but it did throw off the schedule of my day. Namely, the cleaning part of it -- I didn't finish my breakfast smoothie until 11, then got caught up in reading TV Tropes (the "Wayside School" books article -- hey, did you know that the fourth one came out THIS YEAR? Seriously! Wayside School and the Cloud of Doom -- which, uh, feels appropriate for 2020) until almost twelve. So I only got the "above the bed" dusting and my sheets changed by lunchtime (largely because I had to restick a couple of my minimates), and then the rest of my dusting, swiffering, and vacuuming was held up by stuff like having to grab the laundry out of the dryer and finding creepy-crawlies on stuff I was touching (like a big old moth on my page-a-day puzzle calendar). I didn't actually get done until 3:30, and by then. . .well. Suffice to say I decided to skip video games and just concentrate on catching up on YouTube and suchlike. And then we had a late supper, and then I had another brief TV Tropes binge before trying to get to my writing, and. . .yeah, today wasn't my most productive. @.@
I did get a few things accomplished, though:
-->I made a decent dent in my Watch Later queue!
A) Time for a little more GrayStillPlays! Today's offerings:
1. More fun with mods in GTA V! Gray now has the ability to span Sirenheads (which are a horror monster that – well, has sirens for heads), and he took full advantage of this. Sirenheads throwing sharks and cars at humans; Sirenheads versus sharks in the water (the sharks were LITERALLY BEACHING THEMSELVES within moments of being spawned; this is what Gray does to games); the Patriotic Helicopter Blender Tube full of Sirenheads and sharks. . .if this man ever goes ahead and commits actual grand theft auto in these games, I will be utterly flabbergasted.
2. More fun in Episode! This one's premise was "party animal whose parents recently died must find someone to marry in order to get their inheritance." He actually played through it a couple of times – once with Florida Prinze Jr., then with Floridicia Silverstone to get some other endings. He was disappointed when the game immediately took away the chance to be eaten by a cannibal (you find love on a dating app, 'Cannibal' is listed as a preference, but if you click it they say that they removed them all), but he DID at least get to grab a girl from prison! And spend four and a half lovely minutes with her. XD At any rate, Florida Prinze Jr. went with the cougar Amy (45) as she was older and would die sooner than he would, only for her to abscond with all the money six months later; while Floridicia Silverstone got with the prison girl, Madeline (which worked out for a while, but eventually all her money was spent), got with Molly the drunk (who immediately went on a bender so bad she apparently spent all the money and overdosed), and chose to stay broke and single because none of the choices were worthy of her. Good times all around! XD
B) Then we moved onto some Call Me Kevin, which consisted of:
1. Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated! As far as I can tell, the PLOT is that a bunch of robots are running around causing chaos, and Spongebob (and Patrick) are trying to save the day, but – honestly, we're not here for the plot. We're here to watch Kevin torment innocent civilians with his bubble blowing weapon and leap around looking for his underwear. XD And beat up the King Jellyfish as he's apparently stinging customers over at the Krusty Krab. *shrug* Like I said, not here for the plot.
2. More Tomodachi Life! We have two new villagers – Kevin's old Mii creation Miicasso (who, like Turg, has a nose on their forehead – also a mustache UNDER their mouth), and good old RT Game (who is a terrifying sleep demon goblin with a tiny mouth and a screechy voice). We also got a look at Jim's screwed-up dreams (like sitting with all the other villagers with them in blond wigs and telling each other "wonderful, darling!), tried to see who was compatible with who (the boys seem to be eyeing up default for love, but she, as usual, isn't interested in anything), and recruited as many Miis as possible for a techno band (to encourage people to join the cult!). I love these silly little episodes – they're so strange, yet so fun. :)
3. Miitopia! Which is a fantasy RPG about an evil dark lord stealing people's faces, populated by Miis! So, essentially, the fantasy adventure AU to the above game. Kevin made Turg the main hero, and was absolutely THRILLED to discover he could customize the other main Miis of the game. So the face-stealing dark lord is now, of course, Jim, and Turg's first fellow party member is Lil' Kev! Better yet, thanks to some weird class choices by the developers, Turg is now a Pop Star and Lil' Kev a chef! They defeat their enemies (slimes, goblins, and butterflies with the faces of the victims) with the power of song and the power of a frying pan to the face. *insert Tangled joke here* I really hope he continues it, as it also seems like a lot of fun. I want default to become a party member! :D
-->I did get some writing done on "An Introductory Guide to Magic," though it's far from my best work. More of a case of "oh crap, how the hell do I want to start this chapter. . .damn it, just put something down, you can always edit it later!" So I've got the start of how one actually starts casting magic (along with a sidebar on spontaneous magic), at least. It's just not a very good start. Honestly, I think my fighting with this story is very indicative of how I feel about 2020 in general. . .
-->Got a bit more done with my Victor Luvs Alice queue, and answered all the questions on my Valice Multiverse one, so I'm doing okay there. Also spent some time playing in a Fallout-themed dollmaker making Victor and Alice, which I then turned into a post draft. XD Hey, it was fun!
And now I have to answer some comments and continue to catch up on tumblr tags and the like. Tomorrow I hope to do a double hit of Fallout 4 and Sims 4, along with getting more done on Chapter 9 of "Secundus 2." Fingers crossed I manage to be more productive and creative tomorrow! Night all!
