Tiring Monday
Jul. 27th, 2020 10:58 pmThough that was partly because I had another poor night's sleep the night before -- not sure WHY other than my brain hates me. -.- I even swapped back to one of my favorite CDs, the Corpse Bride soundtrack! But nope, it was one of those nights where I kept waking up early and needing to go back to sleep. . .ugh. No likey. Hoping I don't have a repeat tonight.
The other tiring part of Monday was job stress -- specifically, online transactions stress. We have to poke the online people so much these days. . .I hate it, I really do. Especially when I'm trying to get other things done and find time for a proper lunch break and keep on top of other stuff. . .ugh. I really wish 2020 wasn't, well, 20-fucking-20. My coworkers may have gotten on my nerves sometimes, but DAMN it would be nice to have another person to handle the load again! Just have to remember, proper long weekend this week. . .
Other things of note today:
-->Another hot and humid one -- being outside for any length of time was pretty miserable, I gotta say. And tomorrow's supposed to be more of the same, with perhaps some rain moving through overnight. . .ahhh, end of July. Gotta love it. Can I live somewhere where it's just spring and fall constantly?
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Lily has had her little freakout over killing Phil, and has explained to Alice what a "thin-blood" is. Alice, for her part, is honestly pretty happy to tell her that E wants to see her again. Though there is the small matter of dealing with the corpse on the floor first. . .don't worry, Alice, Vandal will see to that. :p
-->The usual bit of YouTubery:
A) Another quick-and-silly – a very short animation of audio from Call Me Kevin's attempt at playing a thief in VR. Only 45 seconds, but it really does capture the essence of what Kevin was doing in that video so well. XD
B) Then it was onto what I said I would be doing yesterday – GrayStillPlays marathon! Featuring:
1. Plague Inc. – no, actually, Gray WASN'T trying to kill the entire world. Instead, Gray was helping TikTok take over the world and subjugate humanity to its will! Yes, this is a genuine custom plague where the idea is to infect everyone without killing them. Which, given the symptoms end up in "watching TikTok videos until you're literally crying blood," seems like it should have been harder. Gray managed, though, and humanity fell under the sway of everyone's favorite "Vine" replacement app! ...I would totally take this over what's actually happening in 2020.
2. GTA V – who wants to play "get the vehicle through the cutout made of people?" :D Seriously, Gray ended up getting REALLY into this – from ramping a car through a hole in a partially-levitating group of beach goers, to DESPERATELY trying to work a plane through a plane-shaped cutout in a partially-levitating group of beachgoers. That second challenge cost him at least two planes and most of his sanity, but in the end, he managed to slide a jet through the group with nary a scratch. :D At least, until he came back around and exploded them. XD
3. Happy Wheels – speaking of getting vehicles through cutouts made of people. . .to be fair, though, in this game, the people can be the most dangerous obstacle, as Gray discovered in a board where you can be impaled on children. XD The usual gory nonsense followed, with special props to the pogo-stick men who keep getting harpoons or spikes in – unpleasant areas. XD I don't know HOW he makes this so funny, but it really is.
4. Universe Sandbox – a late addition in that he just played this one today, this one goes along surprisingly well with my sudden rekindled love for WALL*E. Mostly because Gray was surrounding the Earth in old satellites and then seeing what happened when he smashed them into the planet at ridiculous speeds. Parts of Earth vaporizing or exploding outward like popcorn is what happened, folks! It all had a very strange beauty to it. When the game wasn't crashing anyway. XD (And then I went back and watched those TikTok videos of his again, since that felt very appropriate after this little marathon.)
-->JUST finished getting my pictures ready for the "Newcrest Adventures" update this Wednesday -- another long one, given it involves the partial house remodel, some shenanigans at the lab, Nikal giving birth to their daughter, and Emmett being abducted. Still, I didn't expect a five-parter! @.@ Well, at least I have the pictures ready -- hopefully I can slap them into some quick "starter" posts and have them ready for the queue, at least! Actual text will have to wait until tomorrow, of course.
-->And now it's time to answer comments on here and get ready for bed. Again, REALLY hoping I sleep better tonight. . . Tomorrow should be Sims-themed YouTube (the next Spark'd episode is up, and I figure I might as well watch it, just to see what happens. It's about supernaturals too, so maybe it'll be a little more fun), and hopefully I can actually catch up on some of the shit at work. I'd like to know I was heading out onto my day off with a clear conscience. Or at least a clear desk. *sigh* We'll see what happens. Night all!

Date: 2020-07-28 08:31 pm (UTC)I want to make an Avengers Captain America reference but I'm not sure if you saw the movie. Ooh, but YouTube has the scene! :D

Date: 2020-07-31 01:11 pm (UTC)Speaking of glitches, I got a fun one in the same area and I wish I'd taken screenshots. There were paintings clipping through all the doors and on the elevator above the buttons. Oh, and a painting instead of the fans on the ceiling. Exiting out of the game and restarting solved that, but I think the elevator is still glitched because I have to put the cursor way off in order for the button to register.

Date: 2020-08-01 03:40 am (UTC)LOL -- I've heard of this glitch! It's when some random asset randomly replaces others in the world -- I've seen pictures from Hollywood where the "Fast Buck" sign was randomly everywhere. I'm glad a restart fixed it, though the elevator thing sounds super annoying. Again, a reminder of my own luck when it comes to this shit. . .
