Just Takes One Moment
Aug. 13th, 2020 10:44 pmWork was pretty okay until the end of the day, where I had to maneuver around people going out the same way I was going and try and avoid someone who kept taking their mask off to talk. *deep sigh* I just -- I don't -- ugh. I try my hardest to be safe, and it just -- stuff like that really pisses me off, you know? At least my coworkers are now pushed far enough back from me that I can feel like I can eat my lunch a little more safely. . . I dunno. Some days I seriously just want to ask if I can work from home again. [insert rant about how I wish it was April again]
ANYWAY -- trying not to think of negative things here. Trying to focus on more positive stuff:
-->Didn't end up doing an "official" workout (I intended to ride the bike today, but Dad was on it longer than expected, and I ended up wrapped up in a puzzle), but I did burn off a bit of energy with a few quick exercises, so -- some kickbacks and mini-squats are better than none!
-->Had some very nice pizza for supper, om nom~
-->Finished off Chapter 11 of "Secundus 2!" Everyone has made it off the train, we have had an epic explosion, and now it's time to head back to town and wrap everything up once and for all. Well, everything in Hill Valley, anyway. :p We have two more chapters to finish off the story, you see. . .
-->Did a bit of the YouTubes:
A) Time for a couple of Call Me Kevin videos:
1. A return to Bitlife, this time with Ian Fluencer, the social media star! It wasn't an easy rise to the top – he had to take a restaurant job to actually earn money in the early days, and all of his various accounts kept getting banned, usually for "unspecified" reasons – but eventually he discovered his niche. And that niche was, hilariously, Bitlife videos on YouTube. XD Talk about meta, huh? Anyway, the guy lived to 102 years old, became a millionaire, and only ever asked out his online haters (none of whom were willing to date him). Also, Kevin discovered the "Bitlife Controls My Sims" challenge through his playthrough, and seemed quite intrigued. I'd love to see him play that with Jim and Turg XD
2. Ruinarch, a god game with only one setting – maximum evil. XD Technically all that's out is a demo, but Kevin had quite a lot of fun with it regardless – torturing villagers, framing them for stealing, turning them into kleptomaniacs so they'd actually steal, turning them into psychopaths, sending them to prison, sending them to be brainwashed, making them into werewolves. . . He kept busy, is what I'm saying. XD
B) And then a hop over to OXBox to discuss seven games with horrendously difficult first levels! And a BTTF game made the list! BTTF III for the Sega Genesis, specifically, which has that level where Doc has to race to catch Clara while being assaulted by barrels, tumbleweeds, low-flying birds, and cowboys, and has to leap ravines and whatnot as well. Given how short and unimpressive the rest of the game is, you should be HAPPY to be stuck on the first level. XD Driver and its infamous timed garage with all the tricks made the list too – lot of commenters having flashbacks, apparently, seeing that. XD
C) And then a ProZD short or two – one pointing out the inherent problem with most open world games (namely, exploring them takes FOREVER); and another complaining about when games decide that there has to be like twenty different minigames in order to justify the price when all you're really here for is to shoot things (admittedly, being the kind of person who collects things in games, trying to find all the eggs in the world might actually intrigue me. . .)
-->And, after catching up on webcomics, I have just finished setting up both my Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse queues! Time to finish up with my DW comment and hit the sheets. Just have to remember, only a half-day tomorrow. . .hopefully it'll be reasonably quiet and I can just get through it and go. Ugh, why is it a long weekend can never just stay with me. . . At least I'll have some time tomorrow for Fallout 4. Shooting and building things in the wasteland does make me happier. Night all!
