crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

Work had a return of the idiots, more problems with credit card stuff, and one of my coworkers winding me up with talk about how stuff in the kitchen is dirty because lots of people use it. . .the afternoon was actually pretty quiet, and we had a bunch of reversals come through that we needed, but. . .ugh. It was hard to recover after a morning like that. It's still kinda bugging me. I shouldn't feel this "ugh" about going into work. . .

Anyway. Got home, and things got a little better from there:

-->We played beanbag game, though I had to bug spray myself up because I got bit all to hell the other day (gnats, we're thinking -- I have like eight bites on one leg!). Dad won the first two games, with me coming second -- and then Mom pulled out a spectacular win in the third by getting all four beanbags in the holes in her last shot. It was pretty awesome. :) Hell, even I got three in the holes in an earlier game! So that was very satisfying, at least.

-->I got in a workout -- eleven minute interval training video. Yay exercise~

-->Did some more on Chapter 12 of "Secundus 2" -- Barkis has been captured (with Emily agreeing with Victor that he should stand proper trial) and the gang has, with a bit of trepidation, returned to the train station. Except Clara, who is just thrilled to be on a flying steam train. XD I also ended up going back and editing Chapter 3 of the original "Secundus" in response to a comment I got the other day, which asked why I'd changed how Doc and Marty first met in the sequel -- I'd forgotten that I'd established that. *facepalm* (And I WAS going to check when I first did that chapter, but then I was like "oh, I'm sure it's fine. . .") Fortunately the two references to said first meeting were easy to find, and I tweaked it so that the "mind-reading helmet" incident was the SECOND time Marty came by the shop. Still works as an early-in-their-relationship bit of weirdness, and is now appropriately retconned to work with the second story, since I want to keep that version of how they first met.

-->Only watched a couple of Sims-related videos today (it would have been three, except about five minutes in I realized I didn't really care about an online cast reunion from The Sims Spark'd):

A) Plumbella looking at the development of a new simulator game, People of the Newbery – which, uh, is looking awfully fishy. And Unity. (Or, well, Unreal Engine is apparently where the assets are coming from.) This Russian dude is claiming he's making a cool super-realistic life simulator, but people are suspicious about the quality of his stuff and the cut of his jib, and so is Plumbella. On my end, I totally think that, even if it is released, it's not going to be the game he's claiming it is – and if it is, by some miracle, I don't want a Sims-style game with hyper-realistic graphics, so it's not for me anyway. Meh. Movin' on!

B) Yay, onlyabidoang heard me and is doing the Sims 4 version of his lifestates/species race! *gets to 11:37 in the video* HOLY CRAP HE LITERALLY HEARD ME – or, rather, he read my comment, and it inspired him to also do a section on teleports, as I mentioned that at the end! That was – really cheering, honestly. :) At any rate, he did a couple of main races featuring as many different Sims and as many different walk styles as possible (thanks in part to his walk styles mod) – a vampire with the super-speed ability took first place, natch, but a regular old human Sim at a run managed to take second! And then the possessed Sim from Strangerville took third, just beating out a spellcaster on a bike! On the other end of the spectrum, a moody teenager from Parenthood, a skeleton from Jungle Adventures doing the "creepy" walk, and a toddler with no movement skill were the slowest. As for the teleports: the spell "Transportalate" beats the vampires' bat and mist forms, which in turn beat a spellcaster on a broom, and they all beat the mediation teleport. Neat! :)

-->Then the rest of my evening has been catching up on webcomics and my queues -- Victor Luvs Alice's Newcrest Adventures update is all sorted, whew (though I miss my funny captions, leaving them out does save me some time, and it doesn't seem worth it when most people won't see them anyway), and I'm doing my best to finish up the Valice Multiverse asks.

Aaand that's about it. Gonna go finish everything up now, then hit the sheets -- I am le tired. Happily, I just have to get through tomorrow now before getting a day off. . .hopefully it won't be too stressful! We'll see, though. . .night all!

Maybe I'll check it out once I get my queue down. I'm at 114 with videos posted this month, so I'm almost there!
