Okay Friday
Aug. 21st, 2020 11:10 pmWork was frustrating, though I partially blame that on my period heightening my desire to punch in faces, along with some frustrating things happening in my e-mail inbox (more credit card stuff, no surprises there) -- at least I got a largely quiet lunch thanks to eating early when my coworkers went out and about for a while. And I left on time, so that was nice too. Really hoping my hormones have calmed down by Monday so I can get through the day with less murderous impulses! (Seriously, thinking about work tends to make me so mad right now. . .have to try and let it go. Be calm. It is the weekend -- a cleaning weekend, but still.)
Few complaints about the afternoon, at least:
-->Mom showed me some funny clips of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her jokes at the DNC, then an old video of her and Joe Biden getting up to shenanigans when she was playing the vice-president in a show and he was the actual vice-president, before the White House correspondent's dinner in 2014. XD So that was fun!
-->Played through another day of Newcrest Adventures with Wheatley, Chell, and Geeker -- they celebrated Egg Day, and attended the Humor and Hijinks festival with Dario! I had them all join the Jokesters side, and they ended up winning and getting a bunch of free fireworks and microphones. :) So that was nice! Good day for the Simmies.
-->Played the beanbag game with the folks -- Dad again won all three games, and again, I only managed to take second once. Though I managed again to get three bags through the holes, so that was satisfying! Ended that game on a high note. Now if only I could conquer my problem of so often throwing off to the left. . .
-->Had a ride on the bike afterwards, as it was too hot to do a jumping around workout -- the temperatures today hit the 90s again, and the humidity's going back up, so it's gonna be a sticky weekend, bleh. Might need to keep the AC on throughout the day as well as the night!
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" after supper -- Alice has met Mr. Gimble, learned about him and his career, and basically sussed out that he's a serial killer. XD Though Wonderland is telling her that he hasn't killed Carson, sooo. . .now she just has to figure out how to let Mercurio in (they had him stand outside so Gimble wouldn't get spooked by an extra person) and chase after her erstwhile lover of limbs. . .
-->Then it was time for a bit of YouTube:
A) Plumbella brings Mumbella back in to critique some of her worst builds – except she's not really, Plumbella's getting her to unknowingly critique some of EA's worst builds. Said evil plan kind of went off the rails when Mumbella actually LIKED some of the builds – the word "lovely" was used more often than you might think. She did decry the wasted space in one of EA's stupider houses, though, and was very dismissive of the Community Space from Eco Lifestyle as it served no purpose (you have to vote on it first!). And when Plumbella explained what was actually going on, she was only too happy to ask EA why they were wasting time on builds like this when they should be making cars and kettles. XD
B) And then we had a bit of Call Me Kevin:
1. Microsoft Flight Simulator – the one that came out in 2020! Where you can go anywhere on the map. Kevin ATTEMPTED to go around Ireland, showing off the Cliffs of Moher and the city of Cork (where he's from), but – well, as you might expect, he's not exactly the world's best pilot. XD I mean, the game didn't exactly make it easy for him, with the tutorial tips switching from controller controls to keyboard controls depending on where they popped up, but still. He didn't make it easy on HIMSELF either – forgetting to release the parking brake, unable to figure out how to raise the landing gear on takeoff, making himself weight over 1,000 pounds. . .yeah, I know that last sounds like a GrayStillPlays moment; there's a reason people want Gray and Kevin to cross over. XD Ah well, even if we didn't get the best views of Ireland, at least we got to see a lot of ways a plane can crash in this game!
2. Neighbours From Hell – Kevin takes control of Woody, the star of a sitcom all about him tormenting his neighbor! From scribbling on his mother's portrait, to replacing his whipped cream with shaving foam, to adding hair restorer to his bath, to constantly blowing up an egg in his microwave, Woody does it all! And doesn't get arrested because it's all, apparently, fictional. XD It's a very cute game, with a kind of Aardmany claymation style – and Kevin only got through the very first season of the show, so hopefully there's more to come! XD
-->And the rest of my evening so far has been listening to music, catching up on webcomics, and getting ready to answer comments and do queues. Valice Multiverse looks set, but I still need to figure out Song Saturday on VictorLuvsAlice. . .I'm sure something will come to me!
So yeah, guess I don't have too many complaints about the day. And hopefully it'll be a decent weekend, even if I have to do the cleaning tomorrow. . . I shall also try to fit in some Fallout 4, and the latest Fun With Shorts -- and hey, did Linkara ever upload his latest Atop the Fourth Wall? May have to hunt that down if so. . .
Anyway! Comments, asks, queues, the usual. Night all!
