Oh Damn It
Sep. 13th, 2020 10:47 pmHad a very annoying Anxiety moment this morning, and now I know the reason why -- ~guess what I got this evening right before my shower~ Ugh, and right before a full week of work too. . .at least now I know why I've been extra stressed out and antsy at my job! I really hope nothing really bad happens this week -- with the extra hormone fun, I might go ahead and have a full-on breakdown. Ugh. . .
Besides that fun surprise, though, it's been a nice Sunday! Again, the small to-do list I had in mind got accomplished:
-->Again, watched all the YouTubery I wanted, plus a bit:
A) Started with something silly from my "Recommended" – clips of newscasters working from home interrupted either by their kids or their pets (or occasionally having their cameras fall) XD One of the few nice things about this year is getting lots of fun clips like these.
B) Then it was over to OXBox for their latest – 7 DLCs better than the main game! Including Minerva's Den for BioShock 2 (which, I personally rank BS2 as my favorite of the series, but I'm not gonna quibble – that DLC IS amazing); a Hot Wheels expansion for Forza Horizons 3 (seriously, it is amazing and awesome based on those clips); the Old Hunters expansion for Bloodborne (rightfully so, it looked incredible when Helloween played it); and Last Survivor and Crew Expendable for Alien Isolation (because the best Alien game gets even better when you can play DLC that puts you back in the original movies). Also a DLC pack for Duke Nukem Forever, on the logic that it's not hard to be better than Duke Nukem Forever. XD
C) Then (after playing Sims) it was time for Sims videos! Starting with a video from Carl's Sim Guides about things you might not know about Journey To Batuu! Namely, it is kept SO separate from the main game's systems IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SEPARATE SPIN-OFF. No supernatural powers work there, aliens who come home with you will be taking off their masks and thus looking like regular Sims, your droid doesn't act like an actual robot off-planet (instead being a remote-control mobile stereo, basically), and any attempts to live there are going to be stymied by the lack of building and available resources (basically, people have had to be told how to use the TOILET in this pack as there's none anywhere to be seen – you have to pop into rabbit holes to fulfill that need). Uuuuugh. . .I am so less than impressed with this pack now. James's LP might be fun, but in all other ways, this pack is a definite "avoid" for me. (I suppose one of the pluses is children can use lightsabers, but that feels INSULTING given how they can't use any of the USUAL fun stuff, like spellcaster spells or vampire powers or even plain old cooking. God damn it, EA!)
D) On a happier note, we also had a new episode of "The Sims Logic" from onlyabidoang – this time featuring Call Me Kevin! :D Yeah, Jim Pickens happily showcased how you can recycle a tombstone into the raw ingredients for a salad (yes – the fabricator from Eco Lifestyle lets you make food from bits and pieces), and how easy it is for a Sim to invite random kids to accompany him to a lot; while Kevin himself showed how Sims can happily regift something right back to the person who gave it to them (and possibly even created it!), and how aging can be a little – weird (namely, how the younger sibling can, through abuse of birthday cakes, become the OLDER sibling XD). It was delightful – and very cute to see Abi fanboying over a favorite YouTuber.
E) Also on a happier note, Trash's Journey to Batuu LP is back! And James is sipping the tea, even as he admits he likes the pack. Sipping the tea and remodeling the First Order headquarters to actually have a bathroom, showers, a rest area, and a sleeping area. Cripes, EA, you couldn't have done that yourself? Everything has to be a rabbit hole or a text adventure. . .anyway, Trash has managed to go up a bit in the First Order's esteem with some successful missions, but has proven to be very unlucky at Sabac and lost a good chunk of her money to the scoundrels who frequent the Cantina. What's a Sim to do. . .probably continue ranking up in the First Order and make those scoundrels pay. :P She's almost high enough level to afford a red lightsaber crystal, after all. . .
F) Of course, after coming across Kevin in onlyabidoang's video, I had to watch his latest:
1. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 – the original, not the remake that apparently came out recently. Kevin created a giant one-year-old skater with huge feet, a "I like food" tattoo, and a bowl cut and neck beard. You would think he would stand out in this world, but – well, everything is set in Draw Distance Silent Hill, and the other characters are pretty wacky in their own way. I mean, the college level is reasonably normal, with you taking out frat boys and doing tricks for kids in the skate park. . .but then you find you can go to Alcatraz, and suddenly you're playing baseball with the ghosts of prisoners and knocking "Ranger Bob" into the sea for fast-talking fast-driving Ranger Ron. It's – it's a product of its time, is what I'm saying. XD
2. Batman Arkham City – oh look, a good game on the channel! Been a while since THAT happened. . .but yeah, I'm not ENTIRELY sure what's going on here, but it looks like Batman's gotten himself arrested, Catwoman just narrowly avoided getting dumped in acid, and Kevin is prancing around in a weird Catwoman mask because that's the only one he has. XD The game genuinely looks fun, though, and Kevin's commentary is of course amazing. XD Nice to see him give himself a break from the crappier games for a night. :p
G) And might as well throw a little more of GrayStillPlays Solar Smash in at the end! We actually had a pretty thorough look at what might happen in certain nuclear disaster scenarios (bad things, essentially), then Gray cut a quarter out of the Earth to see how much damage he could do before everyone died. XD He also ended up squaring off the damn thing – and doing a pretty good job of it! I was impressed. If you want something horrible done right, you go to Gray. :p
-->Played Sims 4 and went through Love Day with Chell, Wheatley, and Geeker -- Chell and Wheatley had a very successful date at the local museum, while Geeker had a rather more awkward date with his beau Dario at home. Still managed to get Silver on that one, though, despite the two of them becoming embarrassed thanks to Geeker getting angry over bad cell phone reception (dude, I paid the electric bill! You should be fine!) and rejecting a flirt. Guess everyone has a bad day or two. . . But yeah, have successfully wrapped up my week with them -- now it's either back around to my vampire Victor and Alice pair, or going back to my ideas for a new save file. . .
-->Did play another five games of beanbag toss -- though only against Mom today, since Dad was watching football. We alternated winning games for the first four, but then I managed to pull out a win on the fifth and took the day. :p We were both doing pretty good, though! I guess it's easier when Dad's not there to intimidate us. :p
-->Made sure to answer a PM sitting in my FF.net inbox before it got too old. Still miss getting actual e-mails about those. . .
-->I finished up Chapter 13 of "Secundus 2!" :D Yeah, it was another one of those cases where I got to a page, looked at what was left, and was like, "Yeah, I can finish this." I actually think I ended up writing two pages thanks to adding in a bit of dialogue, but the story is done! Though it won't be OFFICIALLY done until next Saturday evening, of course. . .told you it would be ready by then. :P
-->I also got all my pictures for my next Newcrest Adventures update (the one featuring the weird second Chell) sorted! O.O Look at me being productive for once. . .might try to get at least the pictures and a bit of placeholder text drafted tonight, if I have the chance before my bedtime.
-->And I got my queue for Valice Multiverse all set, though that's mostly because it was just two things. :p
Okay, yeah, that's really good for a Sunday night, especially one where I'm just coming on the rag. We'll see how my productivity fares for the rest of the week. . .at least I should be over my period by next Saturday! When I have to clean. . . *deep sigh* Well, that's life. If I can get through this and get the days off I'm planning for the end of the month. . .as long as I have SOMETHING to look forward to, I can do this. *nods* Night all!
