At the very least, I didn't have to slog my way through closing all my applications for a restart tonight. . .wifi's still glitchy, but I'm starting to think that's a service provider thing, so. . .working for the moment, so I'll just roll with the punches there.

Anyway! Pretty typical Saturday, with nice weather and plenty of things to do:

-->Made myself a smoothie (remembered to freeze my banana!) and changed the sheets on my bed

-->Watched the usual bunch of YouTube (with breaks for gaming and whatnot):

A) Starting with another random clip from my Recommendeds – this one from a news station showing their weather map showing some – interesting temperatures over in Arizona. Basically when your town is showing temps in the thousands, you know something's wrong. The weatherman handled it perfectly, though, calmly suggesting that people might "evacuate" these areas and pointing out that steel probably boils at the temperature in Cave Creek, so don't even bother looting. XD

B) Then it was onto a couple of videos from The English Simmer (the second I'd put into my Watch Later, but when she mentioned it was kind of a sequel to another video she'd done last week, I went ahead and found that one to watch first):

1. Her reaction to the The Sims Team's letter addressing some of people's concerns about stuff like skin tones, babies, cars, how long expansions take, how open the Gurus are with us, etc. She was reasonably impressed and optimistic, though she says it definitely should NOT have taken this long to fix the skintones. (On the plus side, she managed to guess one of the improvements they plan to make to skintones by December – adding sliders so you can lighten or darken a chosen swatch to your preferred color!) She's also hopeful quarterly teasers will be back, as she's all for the Gurus sharing more information on the process and their "roadmap" when it comes to DLC, but I'm not holding my breath, sadly.

2. And then a video on "fixing" The Sims 4 – things that she is still bothered by in the game, and potential solutions. Like not breaking up packs so much and making expansion packs bigger (all for that – game packs are best left to things like the occults, simply because they did such a good job on Vampires); providing more consequences and more personality to Sims (basically, bring back a TON of stuff from Sims 2 like wants & fears, chemistry, the "furious" cooldown timer – and from Sims 3, favorites! I am in favor of ALL of this); more aspirations and removing the "tutorial" aspect from newer ones (she acknowledges she's not sure how best to fix these, and I'm not either, but more options – never a bad thing?); and adding more traits and – well, she's not sure how to fix emotions, beyond possibly "making them more stable" (which – yeah, I'm with you, ES). Honestly, I don't think any of these are going to come to fruition except in mods (which keep getting broken with each new patch, which is why I haven't actually downloaded any of them yet), but it's good to keep talking about these things – maybe it means something better will come out down the line. Whether that's Sims 5 or Paralives remains to be seen, of course. . .

C) Then it was on to our friend Carl's Sims Guides, where he reveals that he's gotten into modding Sims 4! And has made a save file to practice on that. . .well. . . XD All of his Sims do the panic walk in slow motion to get everywhere; sit-ups spawn Mother plants and force a Sim to experience a Spellcaster overload; doing push-ups gets a Sim struck by lightning; one of the paintings will now kill a Sim upon request (in slow-mo, no less) – you get the idea. Basically he's been fucking around with the game files and having a blast doing it. He admits to wanting to do make ACTUAL mods in the future, but at least this is a good learning experience!

D) Then over to the Red Plumbob for a short video on dragons in the Sims series! . . .Well, Sims 1 and Sims 3, anyway, with an "honorable mention" at the end for Sims 4's familiar dragon (plus apparently there's a dragon-dragonfly? Will have to go hunting around Granite Falls). It was a nice little video, even if it makes me sad to think that I didn't get a proper dragon in my current Sims game. :( I want ones that act like the Sims 1 dragons (though, er, perhaps with less burning things when they're upset). Meh.

E) Then time for good old Call Me Kevin:

1. Another Sims 4 episode, with him finishing up Jim's adventures in Journey To Batuu. Jim's buggy, anticlimactic adventures – the game kept glitching out on him (refusing to complete an arrest, meaning he couldn't do anything because someone was being escorted, and giving him the wrong options on one of those text adventure pop ups), and he finished the story missions in this episode, getting to the highest rank without even fully maxing out his bar! What the hell? *sigh* At least Jim knew exactly how to handle his disappointment – FIRE. Goodbye Kylo Ren, Rey, and Hondo! Jim has some knitting to do with his mysteriously-now-adult 7-year-old. XD

2. A cover of "Hurt" by Johnny Cash/Nine Inch Nails, in honor of the friends he's made and lost playing Among Us. You'd THINK this would be a silly parody cover – noooope. It's completely serious and – well, once again shows that Kevin can really sing. And play guitar! Dude, if YouTube doesn't work out, try music. I think you've got the chops.

-->Had another five rounds of the beanbag game -- Dad once again won four games, but this time I managed to win one! And I was playing pretty well for most of the session too -- Dad and I got into a shoot-out in the fourth game. Tied scores five times in a row! Finally ended when I had a bad throw that ended up putting him into the lead. Fun while it lasted!

-->Also played some Sims 4 -- after trying to look things up on the gallery turned out to be a bust, I went ahead and just went back to remodeling the wizard's tower. Managed to fix the problems I was having with making it bigger, and started redoing some of the rooms and adding more furnishings. I think it's coming along pretty okay, honestly! I'll have to take some pictures and share them when it's done. :)

-->Writing today was me working on my plans for the challenges I'd like to do with Alice and Victor (in addition to making them go through University, since I haven't done that yet -- it doesn't seem to jive well with my usual play style in "Newcrest Adventures!"). I've gotten the basics down for Alice's Bloodlines-themed challenge -- still need to do the same for Victor's Fallout-themed challenge. I know it's gonna be along the lines of a rags to riches, but I need to figure out the specific goals I want him to accomplish. . .

-->And now it's time to do a bit of the RP thing over on Valice Multiverse and answer comments on DW. And any other messing around I want do online. :p Tomorrow's back to Fallout 4 -- Jon from Many A True Nerd should have something released, since it's Sunday! And of course I have to continue my Vault 81 stuff and see how my power armor holds up against rabid mole rats. No other big plans, beyond getting back to work on "Londerland Bloodlines," sooo. . .yeah. I'm gonna go answer stuff and chill. Night all!
