Trash Fire Start To October
Oct. 1st, 2020 11:15 pm-->Shitty ride in thanks to an accident on the highway -- it was fairly close to the onramp and cleared up right afterwards, but the slow slog past it was. . .well, it's lucky that traffic is reasonably light otherwise, so I didn't actually get in late, but ugh. So that threw off my morning to start. . .
-->Had trouble getting in because I managed to pull up near completely wrong to the thing you're supposed to zap with your badge -- someone passing by took pity on me and zapped me in
-->Yet more people in the building not wearing masks when they're supposed to (with me doing my best to avoid them) -- we did have a memo about this, along with other practices, today, but who knows if it'll actually have any affect
-->Having a call with a donor trying to update their information, only to discover the damn pledge had vanished, forcing me to make a NEW one and do a bunch of reversals to get things right (along with my coworker making comments about how I needed to get the computer I need to get all of this done on up earlier, which, fine, true, but I was distracted by something else and you getting catty about it isn't HELPING)
-->Afternoon phone conference about the upcoming next appeal, which -- I guess went okay, but didn't feel very satisfying in terms of knowing where we're going (especially with our online vendor)
-->Lots of messages from people with more updates to do while I was on said phone
-->Getting out late AGAIN because I needed to rewash my hands a couple of times and my attempts at avoiding people getting out of the building meant I ended up taking the long way around -- and, of course, traffic was not good coming home. . .
-->Did the beanbag game -- didn't win a single game (though I did manage second twice -- Dad won three, Mom won two)
-->Did get in a short bike ride downstairs afterward as Mom was baking rolls and heating up soup; had to fight with the TV to actually get it to connect to the internet, though, so I could watch some YouTube while riding
-->Watched the end of Taskmaster series 7 with dinner -- do not regret this, as it was hilarious and delightful, but it did mean I got on my computer very late. . .and I was sufficiently worn out to completely skip writing
-->Did get a little YouTube in, despite the usual fight with the wifi:
A) Back on the bike today, so (after a fight with the internet connection downstairs; what else do you expect from today) got to watch a little more of Jon's Fallout 4 Survival playthrough. As per the title of this episode, poor guy's gotten sick thanks to Rad-Away suppressing his immune system and bloatflies splurting their gunk all over him. He's got the Lethargy, and his action points are regenerating 50% slower. He is not happy. On the plus side, he was able to clear out Sunshine Tidings, so – new settlement? In the future, anyway.
B) Then it was onto Plumbella playing some (sponsored) Ooblets! To my amusement, she chose a similar look to Call Me Kevin's character when he played it. XD She had fun with it, accusing the mayor of being a Tory, smashing stones and branches with her bare hands, and growing a whole coterie of bitches (because she was Plumbitch, so all of the Ooblets ended up with "bitch" in their names too XD). Even completed a quest or two! Also, she's in love with Padraig the hair stylist as he sent her a cupcake. XD Nice to see her around again – apparently she's been having it tough lately, poor thing.
C) And then it was time to finally catch up with Linkara's latest episode, another jaunt with "Mr. T. and the T-Force!" Which – was actually rather subdued this time around! It was mostly set-up for a bunch of problems for Mr. T to deal with in future issues, such as stopping a lady from being mugged for her assistance checks, or giving a hand to a fighter going up against a beloved local champion with truly toxic fans. Nothing earth-shaking, but fine enough as a comic. And apparently Linkara's planning on a new horror show over in Moarte's corner! That should be interesting. . .
D) And just to finish things up quickly, a quick montage of funny and weird Fallout 4 moments I found searching YouTube. Including things like Ada basically rocketing off into the sky because Bethesda game! Also the player really, REALLY hating Sheng the water kid from Diamond City. XD
-->And I'm now wrapping things up for the day with answering comments (oh, my main mail app also isn't updating itself correctly, though I'm not sure WHY -- I can check it via internet, though) and finishing up my Valice Multiverse queue (which fortunately is SMALL).
So yeah -- I'm in a mood. *rubs face* At least tomorrow's Friday. . . We'll see if it's any better. Night all.
