Okay Enough Monday
Oct. 19th, 2020 11:15 pmNobody in the house seems to be sick (though, again, I've been having a bit of sinus stuff tonight -- I blame the fact that the temperature keeps going up and down a bit, plus the potential for a shower tomorrow), the weather was decent today, and work wasn't too bad -- a couple of stressful notes with shuffling things around and trying to figure out roster maintenance mysteries, but I've had much worse to start the week.
Afternoon's been pretty decent too:
-->Had the beanbag game, though today it was just me and Mom, since Dad wanted to watch an early football game. I won the first game, but Mom took all the rest. A lot of them were pretty close, though, with her beating me by just that much. Gotta up my game!
-->Got back on the workout train with a bike ride, yay~
-->And that, of course, led to YouTube:
A) Back on the bike, so back to Jon's Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! I rejoined Grills Bears as he (a bit clumsily) took out the raiders outside the BADTFL office, then considered starting the Automatron stuff until he realized that he was WAAAY too low level to actually do anything to the robots attacking poor Ada. He wanted to help, but he's just not powered up enough! So he instead left that behind and instead went to Poseidon Energy Turbine No 18-F, which was infested with various buggies – and, as poor Jon discovered when he went back outside, some Mirelurk hunters (essentially giant mutated lobsters). Including a Legendary. He managed to flee back inside the turbine and take out the hunter that chased him – and then, when he went back outside, discovered that the Legendary hunter, along with a Super Mutant and Mutant Hound, had apparently gotten WRECKED by this one Utility Protectron patrolling the place. XD The robots in the Commonwealth are badass, yo. At any rate, Jon left him to patrol, then cut across the nearby water to avoid any other Super Mutants before making his way to Taffington Boathouse, clearing out the bugs there, and claiming the workbench. (And cooking up TONS of meat, om nom.) I left him going over to the nearby drainage pipe after killing a BUNCH of bloodbug hatchlings, to investigate the sad story of the Sutton family that used to live there (namely, one of the kids found a holotape suggesting a bunch of chems were in the pipe and wanted to get them to sell; when he didn't come back, the second kid went to find him, and also didn't come back; and by the time you find the mother, she and the Brahmin are long dead from Bloodbugs).
B) Then it was time to catch up with GrayStillPlays this evening:
1. Superhero Stickman Crash – you guys know the drill with this kind of game now. XD The twist here being that the characters are all low-rent stick versions of superheroes and supervillains. . .and Gray managing to get OVER FOUR MILLION POINTS ON THE VERY FIRST BOARD. Mostly because he found that a) the shopping cart vehicle is VERY easy to get stuck inside your hero of choice, and b) the game will happily fire arrows at your character even before the round officially starts! Cue Gray racking up so many points he could buy literally everything, having more fun that should be allowed torturing Green Lantern, Spider-Man, and Harley Quinn, and finding a spot on a board with a bunch of fans for the Flash to rack him up NINETY-FOUR MILLION PLUS POINTS. Fear Gray on the "crush this stickman's bones" game. Fear him.
2. More Universe Sandbox 2 – what happens when you throw terrifying amounts of water at the various planets in the solar system? COMEDY! Namely, you can chase the poisonous gasses off Venus, turn Mars into a flamethrower, and turn Jupiter into a black hole. And then Gray decided to top himself by flinging water at the SUN, and – yes, turns out you can drown the Sun. Sort of. It goes supernova and fries the rest of the solar system. It's beautiful. XD
3. More Happy Wheels! Guess who was crying laughing five minutes into the episode as Gray struggled to complete a board made by someone who clearly knows him ENTIRELY too well. Invisible walls everywhere, and you have to FAIL the bottle run to succeed – something anathema to Gray. XD There were also two horrifying multi-stage "ball falls" (which had a lot more than balls in them, that's for sure!), a Segway bottle run (with some TERRIFYING angles involved), and of course, a bottle flip (where Gray took a lot of pride in getting the "Impossible 99.9%" and "Hacker" spots). I swear, I could watch him play this game ALL freaking day.
-->Wrote some more on "In A World Of His Own" -- Victor and Alice have just come across Blue Ben (a legendary dragon from Klive, West Somerset, England) and his exhibit, and the Wizard's about to show them how the place is bigger on the inside. Victor is all thrilled to see his favorite childhood dragon come to life, while Alice is just amused by his excitement. :) What can I say -- I like dragons, so he likes dragons. :p
-->Got the pictures for my next Sims 4-related update sorted and drafted on tumblr -- more of the wizard tower reno, since that's main project in the game lately. Also have an idea for a post where I confront my dark thoughts on whether or not to do NaNoWriMo this year. . .
-->And I just answered a couple of comments -- just gotta wrap that up and I'm good for the night, yay~
So yeah -- so long as my health holds, I think this week won't be a complete trash fire. We'll see, of course. Gotta head to bed now, though -- night all!
