crossover_chick: Doc in his mind-reading helmet with the text "so cute!" (BTTF: feeling flirty)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
Again, rather low-key in the "celebration," but I did wear my Doc Brown character socks today (splitting them from the Marty character socks for a change), and I allowed myself an extra cookie and some milk with dessert. XD And I did listen to Pogo's "Time Machine" remix this morning, that's gotta count too. :P

Work didn't start out great thanks to a bad commute (ugh), but my boss is officially COVID negative, and I managed to clear a few things from the exceptions and whatnot, so that's all right then. Still gotta get through one more day, but -- we'll see. At least we've made it to Friday in one piece. And the weather's supposed to remain beautiful for a couple of days yet, so that'll be nice.

Afternoon round-up commences:

-->Another five rounds of beanbag game -- Dad took away three wins, while Mom and I each got one. Though Mom got second three times, so that counts for something too. We were all playing really well -- I started one game with an eight! Would have won it too if Mom hadn't managed to get ONE more point than me at the very end. . .

-->Did a ride on the bike, which is always good (even if my butt doesn't really agree)

-->And that segues nicely into the Youtube:

A) More bike-riding, more Jon's Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! We rejoined Grills Bears trying to figure out a random house with a chained door and no other obvious way in (Jon eventually concluded it was meant for people who have the power armor jetpack add-on), before heading back to Breakheart Bank to deal with the Super Mutants. MUCH more successfully this time, too – keeping in cover and carefully shooting the Legendary with as many sneak attacks as possible got him the win, and got him Greentop Nursery as a settlement! :) Sadly, Starlight Drive-In suffered an attack while he was away, but – hey, what the hell was he supposed to do in a world with no fast travel? Sheesh. . . Anyway, after setting himself up, he decided to set out for the insane asylum. . .and promptly ran into some angry robots, including a Mr. Gutsy. Fortunately the ghoul settlement the Slog was nearby, so he was able to run to safety there. He chatted with the residents, filled up his bottles, went to cross the river to get to Parsons Insane Asylum – and promptly fled BACK across the river after finding a DEATHCLAW waiting for him on the other shore. XD Fortunately the Deathclaw couldn't effectively follow him across the river and ran off, allowing him to sneakily cross after getting his nerve back. And then, suspicious of everything he came across, he accidentally killed one of the people he was supposed to be HELPING at the Asylum. Whoops. Fortunately it wasn't the actual quest-giver, and his stealthy approach meant that no one knew he was the murderer, so he got the quest to clear the Raiders out of the nearby Parsons Creamery. Left him after managing to take out the Raider Survivalist in charge with a sneak attack critical headshot. :) As usual, good times with this playthrough!

B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin for a sponsored look at Immortals Fenyx Rising. Kevin, now able to use the character creator, promptly made an abomination against man and god with a delightful mustache. On a feminine character. XD The game itself looks fun – the overarching "Prometheus and Zeus telling the story of Fenyx" narrative is pretty funny, and the gameplay seems solid. And Kevin playing means you get plenty of hilarious commentary too. XD Namely wondering why he's chasing this helpless stranger to save them (and then getting mugged when he does!), and cutting down every tree he can – at least until he runs into Aphrodite, turned into a tree. XD Good times. . .

C) And then it was time for a bit of GrayStillPlays, with:

1. More Skater XL, that skateboarding simulator that allows you to mess around with the physics more than it should. Gray discovered that you can mess with all SORTS of numbers today! Ever tried skateboarding on a board 234 feet long? Have you ever managed to shove your own foot up your butt and through your neck while doing a flip? Yeeted yourself to space while doing 1 million flips? Tried negative numbers to see what happens when you do an ollie? Gray has. XD Also, Displate the metal poster company sponsored him this video, and Gray promptly went at their product with a circular saw. (It cuts, but apparently it blunts the saw blade too, sooo. . .) You think they would have asked Raycon what he does to the products he's given first.

2. More Universe Sandbox 2, that universe simulator that allows you to mess around with the physics more than it should. Gray heard that a 6.5 foot asteroid is going to hit the Earth around election day! (Yes, SERIOUSLY.) Google told him that it doesn't actually pose any danger to the Earth.

Gray made it pose a danger. Mostly by figuring out how to set the power of explosions in the game, and increasing the speed of the fragments to like one billion time lightspeed. Also he discovered you can make these fragments SUPER cold if you wish – he actually flash-froze the Earth with one! And then he tried giving the asteroid the power of like a kajillion supernovas. . .yeah, he managed to vaporize Earth. And the solar system. And the WHOLE REST OF THE UNIVERSE. Seriously, game went to a completely black screen. And it was showing off all sorts of graphical glitches when he tried to start a new game! Basically Gray has achieved a new personal best for breaking stuff here. XD I'm so proud.

-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice is saying goodbye to E, Lily, and Rosa as they prepare to head up to Oregon, with Rosa giving her a few last bits of cryptic advice (namely, don't trust LaCroix and Ming Xiao, and don't try to turn away Victor when he shows up). Aaaalmost done with this chapter -- and then I have one more to go to wrap up the final main Santa Monica mission. Perhaps I'll get this first draft of the first part of the story done by the end of the year! Wouldn't that be nice. . .

-->Got something in the queue for tomorrow on Victor Luvs Alice, and currently I'm working my way through the Valice Multiverse one. . .still gotta answer comments over here too, so I'd better get on that. (Fell down a "catching up on webcomics" rabbit hole, unfortunately, otherwise I'd be a little further ahead. . .)

And that's about it for the night! Like I said, one more day at work to get through. . .and then a cleaning Saturday, but it's worth it not to have to clean on Halloween. Have to spend some time looking up more new computer stuff this weekend too. My laptop's been behaving a bit better lately, but still -- an upgrade is probably a good idea.

Anyway -- time for comments and bed. Night all!
