Happy Bombs Drop Day!
Oct. 23rd, 2020 11:26 pmIf you're wondering what the hell I'm on about, today is the date of the Great War in Fallout Lore -- basically, this is the day America and China exchanged their nuclear payloads and shot the earth straight to hell. And also the day you start out on in Fallout 4! This is why I wanted to do my restart of Victor's save file this weekend -- it's as close as I can get to the date. Guess this Sunday will be all about taking crack number 2 at his face! Not sure I'll be able to do better than I did the first time, but -- girl can try, right?
Anyway, time's a-wasting, should give you the daily round-up:
-->Had a busy morning and a quieter afternoon at work -- tracking down problems while trying to do the GL took up most of my morning, then I was able to switch off to more roster maintenance stuff after lunch. Made the time go by, at least! Just glad to be through the week. . .
-->Came home to another five rounds of beanbag game -- Dad had a bit of an off day and only won the first game, while Mom won three and I won one. Mom was very happy with this result -- she's kind of hilariously competitive. XD Ah well, not gonna be long until we have to retire the game for the winter -- might as well let her enjoy herself while she can!
-->Got in the usual pre-dinner bike ride, so I'm doing well on keeping up with that
-->And again, that brings us straight to the YouTube portion of the day:
A) Another bike ride, another twenty-odd minutes spent on Jon's Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Grills Bears finished clearing out the raiders who had stolen the Cabots' Mysterious Serum (after a close call with the Raider Psycho, who was practically on top of him), found a mattress to nap on, then started planning his route back to the Cabot house to drop off the quest, figuring out some of the other things he wanted to do along the way (namely: send Preston to Hangman's Alley, since that'll be his new base; drop off some of the other quests he's picked up, and restock in Diamond City). He also decided to go to Covenant, because apparently he'd never BEEN to Covenant before! Huh – I thought everybody went there sooner or later? At any rate, it was on his planned route, so he figured he could stop in. After he decided to brave the Malden Hospital and its Super Mutants to get the Surgical Journal (and its increase to limb damage) within, that is – some lucky throws with a grenade and some very careful hiding allowed him to kill the TWO legendary spawns that appeared when he entered the place, yay! (Though only one had anything good on them, sadly.) And one of them even bounced around amusingly when he killed it, thanks to janky physics. XD Anyway, he got the Journal, took a break at Taffington (ending episode 10 and starting episode 11), then found his way to Covenant past a dead caravan. He passed the entrance exam, and I left him investigating the mystery of Old Man Stockton's missing daughter (part of the dead caravan) – and why a two-story house in the town didn't have any stairs to the top level. XD
B) Evening started with Call Me Kevin and more Among Us! Today's quirk – being super agreeable! Even to the point of agreeing when he's "sus." XD Hilariously, this is also the episode where he got killed the most, as he kept following impostors, or being voted off (presumably for being weird and/or annoying). Best game was when he was trying to stick together with new buddy Khals, and kept calling emergency meetings every time they were separated – as it turned out, Khals was the impostor, and was probably trying to SHAKE Kevin so he could, you know, do impostor stuff. XD Though he never ended up killing Kevin for it, so I guess there was some genuine fondness there. You may join the Among Us Fam on a provisional basis, Khals. XD
C) And then it was back to GrayStillPlays, and more Happy Wheels! :D We have combined harpoon and bottle runs, absolutely madness bottle flips, and the GrayStillPlays Hard board – you have to flee from an absolute ONSLAUGHT of harpoons and arrows, and the first "victory" spot actually has an invisible wall over it – you need to drop down and smash a guy to actually win. XD Also there was a pogo-stick spike JUMP – Gray needed a few tries to get through that one! Same with the walls of jet engines, but he did make it eventually! Despite the CREATOR apparently being unable to get through that board. XD Oh, don't put an "impossible" challenge in front of Gray in this game – he will not stop until he proves it possible. XD
-->Wrote some more on "In A World Of His Own" -- the gang has entered Blue Ben's sanctuary, and Victor has been invited to ride on Ben on a trip to the nearby beach. They're currently trying to coax a somewhat-more-hesitant Alice on. Thinking the chapter will end with another soaking for Victor (and Alice too), and sandcastles on the beach. :P
-->Got something in the queue for VictorLuvsAlice on tumblr -- did the smart thing and just did it RIGHT after I watched my evening videos for a change~
-->And. . .well, I've been a bit lazy tonight, taking my time catching up on webcomics and the like. I've only just started taking care of the Valice Multiverse queue, and catching up on comments. But hey, it's Friday, I have a bit of time tonight to just hang about if I want. Gonna try and get on those comments now, though.
Okay, game plan for tomorrow: Room clean (since I had to skip last week), then Sims videos and some Sims 4 myself (gonna try and finish up the wizard tower). I feel this is reasonable. Also probably gonna have beanbag game again, as it's supposed to be the last nice day before the temperature crashes back down to more normal for the end of October. *sigh* Ah well, nice while it lasted. . .Night all!
