What do I mean by that? That I woke up, chatted to my mom doing yardwork through the window, then went to the bathroom, sat down -- and discovered it was that time of the month! So basically I woke up with my period, but by some miracle it didn't PROPERLY start until I was already on the toilet, meaning I didn't ruin any clothes or my sheets. Whew! Also "whew" for getting it on a weekend, where I can feel more comfortable changing my pad in my own bathroom and it doesn't particularly matter that it makes me tired and kinda achy.
Anyway! Another BTTF Day -- Doc and Marty heading to the school and finding out that their big problem is Lorraine thinks Marty is cute and is crushing on him instead of giving George a chance. Say it with me all -- "ewwww." At least in this verse, as will be proven later, humans do come with inbuilt incest alarms!
As for my actual day:
-->Spent the morning cleaning -- in a rare twist, thanks to my parents doing yard work and my room not being that dirty, I managed to finish up the dusting before lunch! So that was nice. . even if I ALMOST lost a minimate behind my bed (was able to fish her out, fortunately)
-->After lunch, Swiffering, and vacuuming, we went out into the newly-raked back yard to play beanbag game! Weather was absolutely gorgeous (in the 70s!), so we wanted to take advantage of it. Dad, unfortunately, CRUSHED me and Mom, taking all five games -- Mom came in second three times, and I managed second on the first and last games. I'd like to put a LITTLE of the blame on my period, but to be honest I'm probably just rusty from not playing for a while.
-->All SimsTube, all the time today:
A) Decided to catch up on my Plumbella in the Watch Later today:
1. Plumbella "illegally downloads" clothes for The Sims 4 – by which I mean she goes on the clothing site Shein, picks a few items she likes (a simple skirt with a little heart on the band, a daisy-print dress, a tie-dye purple shirt, and a hat with a cherries pattern), and uses Sims 4 Studio to recreate them as custom content! She wasn't able to recreate any of them exactly (the skirt came the closest because of how simple it was), but she did a really good job getting the basic idea of all of them across! :D I actually really liked the cherry hat in particular – and happily, she provided a download link with the video, so I went ahead and grabbed that and the clothes within. :D (That hat I like is now part of Alice's second cold weather outfit!)
2. Plumbella revamping her previous tiny house for eight sims – only this time, using the glorious powers of CC! Mostly the power of custom bunkbeds and a tiny bath/shower combo that allowed her to shrink her bathroom even smaller! She, uh, had to remove the DOOR to make it all work, admittedly, but she put a curtain up! XD But yeah, she folded together some bunkbeds and mattresses, squeezed in a tiny desk and computer, found a tiny stove, counter, and sink, some tiny corner seats, and everything was good! I imagine it's not FUN to live in this house, but it's functional. XD And it is pretty amazing, watching what people can do with these sorts of things.
3. Plumbella commenting on the blog update regarding skin tones and future updates in December – namely, she still thinks this took way too long coming, she's a little annoyed with EA for never actually admitting they keep running into issues, but she's happy with the screenshots on display, she's happy progress seems to be on the way, and she's happy that the team is partnering with the Sims Community to actually tackle some of this stuff! (Insert my "I still think the Gamechangers should be getting paid for this" not-quite-a-rant here.) We'll have to see what the actual update looks like in December to see if she remains pleased!
B) Then it was over to James Turner to catch up on HIS stuff in my subscriptions, namely:
1. James takes a few seconds to redo his official lots in Snowy Escape because he's not QUITE satisfied with them! Namely, he redoes his starter home's exterior to not blend into the dirt patch it's situated on so much (he didn't realize the lot would be the same beige as the house when he submitted it); tweaking those misaligned windows and adding a computer into his rental (because it's near the ski slopes and mountain, and you need a computer to buy gear); and fixing the terrain paint and adding a wedding arch to his lounge (because nice view = nice place to get married). Nothing too special, but everything looked nice when he was done, soo. . .
2. James takes a few minutes to show off the platform tool in the upcoming update to The Sims 4! They look super versatile, I have to admit – you can make them basically as tall as a wall, or sink them waaay down into the basement, but the game still treats them all as existing on the same "level," so Sims can properly interact across all the different heights! You can use stairs with the taller ones, mix and match levels, all that fun stuff! There are a few annoyances – pulling them out to the edge of a room will destroy the walls around them; they don't take wallpapers or any other wall textures, instead needing their own trims (which may not look quite right depending on lighting); and you can cover them with half-walls, but you'll have to play around to find the right height of half-wall you need. But all in all, this looks like a very solid update to the build mode, and I look forward to seeing people playing around with it. :D
-->Also played Sims 4 -- my plans to try and get Victor and Alice to do something interesting were derailed by an extremely rainy and stormy Sunday in-game. Also by trying to coordinate everybody so nobody was doing something I didn't approve of (Alice is very keen on showering in the rain -- despite one of her vampire powers being HER HYGIENE NEED NEVER GOES DOWN. I'm pretty sure this is down to her "Erratic" trait, but it's still annoying!). I managed things in the end -- Victor wrote a new song, the kids did their homework and earned some skills, Alice didn't QUITE get promoted but she's almost there -- but it was a task. At least I got her outfits properly updated -- I've been meaning to add the "real" Hysteria dress I picked up as CC to her dark form for a while now.
And then at the end of my play session those damn aliens showed up and abducted Alice. *facepalm* They returned her in decent condition, but for feck's sake. . .I even got an ACHIEVEMENT for it, which -- are you mocking me, game? Seriously? Uuugh. . . I guess it's something to spice up the end of that update?
-->Got some writing in -- revised the gift fic for a friend that's going up this Wednesday. It's "Londerland Bloodlines"-adjacent too, so that was good. Yay keeping on top of the fic!
-->I've ended up taking the night off Valice Multiverse RP for two reasons:
1. The aforementioned period making me tired and ugh
2. The growing number of comments in my AO3 inbox from my friend reading her way through the Forgotten Vows Verse -- I decided I wanted to spend my mental energy catching up on that tonight!
So yeah -- gonna try and answer any DW comments I have, and getting stuff queued over on Valice Multiverse, but that's my focus tonight (that and maybe getting a comment of my own on one of THEIR fics -- I've been meaning to for some time!). Tomorrow, of course, is Fallout 4 Sunday, thanks to Jon -- but before that, I'm planning on trying to catch up on more of the videos I'm behind on. Gotta at least catch up with Kevin and Gray, and hoping to fit some OXBox and OXtra in there! Also have to remember to make muffins, so breakfast next week can happen. And maybe get in some workout time, though I will be flexible there because period.
Anyway -- back to answering things and queuing things and whatnot. And possibly watching a video on a Commonwealth pizza mod, because I may want my boy Victor to have pizza. XD Hey, we had it for dinner last night and lunch today -- pizza be good, yo! :p Night all!
