crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

For the following reasons:

-->Weather be shit, yo -- it didn't start out too bad this morning, but as the afternoon wore on, it really started straight out POURING. And it's windy too -- I'm mildly surprised we haven't had a power outage! O.o About the only plus is that the temperature is decent -- up in the 60s! But as soon as the rain and wind go away, so does the warmth. Meeeeh. . . Then again, we've had worse ends to November and starts to December, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. *is still nervous about what the snow situation could look like this winter*

-->Trying to find a good spot for my laptop -- there's not really room on my desk for both computers, and I don't have any other truly good workspaces! I finally found something that worked by shoving my keyboard here over, but if working from home becomes a regular thing, I definitely need to make a better space for myself.

-->Late lunch -- we ate at one, which is much easier on the Vicky when breakfast is at 10:30 than at 7:30. My own fault, though -- should have asked if we could eat sooner or just had a snack. Also, the person who was uploading our Taskmaster episodes seems to have vanished, so we've had to go back to QI -- not that I don't like the latter, but darn it, I was getting into series 8.

-->Kinda boring workday -- though that's partially my own fault; I didn't put on any music until well after lunch, so. . . Also just not a lot to do, though I did manage the GL and cleaning up some deceased folks and duplicates.

-->More credit card processing woes -- CAN I GO ONE DAY -- *uuuuugh* I'm just so tired of having to e-mail them so constantly! And I want to be sympathetic, since we're all in the same COVID boat, but -- I dunno, it really gets annoying.

Still, I made it through the day with a minimum of annoyance, and I did have a few wins:

-->Answered a FF.net PM before it could get too old during what remained of my lunch break

-->Got in a bike ride after work again, yay~

-->Also finished up my Newcrest Adventures pictures for the week, and got the drafts of the posts (all five!) in my Victor Luvs Alice drafts with some starter text, w00~

-->Caught up some on the YouTubes:

A) More time on the bike, more time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! He finished his conversation with Phyllis, breaking out the red dress to convince her what happened to her Samuel wasn’t her fault, and that the Minutemen could use someone like her. She accepted his offer, and Grills got to claim the settlement she was at – Egret Tours Marina I believe – as his own! He didn’t do much with it besides scrapping all the stuff and setting up one turret for her (he plans to just use it for resources for his main base), then he proceeded down the road, dodging Rust Devils and taking out ghouls. He came across Robot Pioneer park and activated all the Protectrons to help take down the Deathclaw in there – they DO do an excellent job of helping take the monster down, as I well know! And then past that was the Glowing Sea, a terrible place full of grimy yellowish pools and blasted trees and a just general sense of horror and death.

Exemplified by Grills inadvisably taking on a Legendary Alpha Deathclaw, and then being targeted by a Radscorpion Hunter at the same time. He fully expected to die there, but by sheer luck, his Crippling Plasma “shotgun” managed to save him. The Deathclaw didn’t even have any good gear – just a Hunter’s Synth Leg (reduces damage from animals). :( Worse yet, despite stumbling into a couple of defunct military bases (and taking out some synths), Grills hasn’t found ANYWHERE to sleep, and thus save. (Beds out in the open do him no good – he can’t sleep if he’s taking rads!) I left him as he finally made it to the crater where the Children of Atom live, but damn. I sincerely hope he doesn’t have to redo most of this run – the Glowing Sea is NOT a fun place to be.

B) And then, time for another Call Me Kevin catch-up!

1. More Among Us, with Kevin bringing out his wheel from his old “kill this color” challenge for the opposite purpose – to PROTECT whatever color it lands on! He was – not particularly good at this. Either because his “client” was an impostor (happened in one of the first game), to him being impostor and killing his client in a huff after being accused, to protecting one guy (again as impostor) with the help of another crewmate, and their client randomly accusing BOTH of them despite them constantly being with him. It was pretty funny. XD

2. Empire of Sin, a sponsored video by Paradox Interactive for one of their new games! It’s about gangs in the 1920s during the height of Prohibition, and Kevin dressed up to match. XD Even did a whole opening skit for it, which was nice. The actual game is has turn-based combat and sees you completing various missions and taking over buildings to turn them into “rackets” – speakeasy, casino, all that. Kevin had his character, Dean, take a job from a priest to clear out a brothel – unfortunately, Dean is not the most accurate man in combat and was quickly killed. Fortunately Kevin hired a couple of guys to help out during his next attempt, and thus were created Unnamed Henchman (previously Grover) and Tiny, fighters extraordinaire! They easily cleared out the place with the help of Dean’s friend George – and promptly turned it into another brothel. Named after the priest. XD Admittedly, he didn’t seem to mind, so. . .

3. In Silence, a multiplayer game where it’s one monster versus a bunch of survivors – the survivors have to either fix a car to escape, or open an armory to fight the monster, while the monster just has to kill everyone, relying mainly on following the sounds they make since it has poor eyesight. Kevin joined this random group which was surprisingly tolerant of Mr. Newbie Troll yammering on and insisting everyone be a bush. XD It was good times, especially when Kevin got to be the monster and started making random noises. . .and then one of the other guys picked up the habit for HIS turn as the monster. XD Always fun when they just play along.

4. People Playground – you know those “torture these stick figures in various ways” games Gray likes to play? Yeah, this was one of those. Kevin started off the video comparing it to the way he plays Sims 4. XD And – he’s not wrong. Honestly, the way he was constantly throwing various horrors at his chosen humans Jeff and Brendon (their monster mom, a bus that sinks into the sea, a boat made of people attached to an overenthusiastic thruster, a living room made of terrible death machines, a truck containing their monster mother that drives into a bunch of bombs on a snowy day. . .), I felt a bit like I was watching Gray. Which is not a bad thing, trust me. XD

-->Wrote my first Christmas gift fic of the year! Mostly because I had a request in already from my friend Newt on tumblr and figured I might as well get a head start. It's ALMOST December. :p My plan is to alternate gift fics with "Londerland Bloodlines" for a bit so I'll be prepared for the holidays. Seems like a plan, right?

-->And now I'm going to wrap things up by answering whatever comments remain and heading to bed. Hoping I sleep a little better tonight; it was kinda rough last night. My own fault for fucking up my schedule with a long weekend, I know, but. . .another day of working at home tomorrow! At least now I've worked out some of the kinks and should have a better experience. I hope, anyway. . . *fingers crossed* Night all!
