Though it could have been worse -- they were predicting some slushy snow at one point, but it never actually changed over, thankfully. Though it's supposed to get very cold overnight, so ice on the roads is a possibility. . .and APPARENTLY we're getting SOME sort of snow event overnight Wednesday into Thursday, so my last week of work for 2020 might be a little shorter than anticipated. . .

That's to worry about later, though -- for now, here's the sum-up of my day so I can get to bed at a decent time:

-->Work was thankfully rather quiet, with me mainly doing the GL and working my way through some of the stuff still hanging over my head and seeing what I can resolve this week before my vacation and the extended holiday break. Dunno what exactly I'll be able to accomplish, but anything is better than nothing!

-->Helped out a bit on the new "movie posters" puzzle when I got home, then had a ride on the bike for my exercise, yay~

-->I'm unfortunately falling behind on my subscriptions, but I'm keeping up with some bits and bobs of YouTube:

A) Another round on the bike, another chunk of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough to watch! After leaving the “Cat Chapel” (stealing most of the meat on the way), he wandered through South Boston, killing raiders and Super Mutants, exploring what little was left of the South Boston High School, and coming across Parker Quinn! Parker is the guy who can scam the Sole Survivor with a “charge card” to buy things with, despite the fact that money these days is BOTTLECAPS. However, Jon had Grills take the bait, just because there is ONE vendor, off in Far Harbor, who will actually cash out the damn thing, and Jon wanted to show it off later. Why not, right?

After that, Jon reached University Point and started exploring! I’ve actually already been to this location on my wanders during modding, and I knew the story, so it was particularly interesting for me to see Jon speculate about what was going on here. His first instinct was to assume Super Mutants were about (since, you know, the Institute IS responsible for those being in the Commonwealth), then – upon finding one of the holotapes, with someone suggesting they give the institute “the girl” – he assumed that a synth had tried to take refuge here, and even wondered if Stockton and his daughter had lived here at some point. He eventually stumbled upon the real story, though – a tech-savvy wastelander who stumbled across some important pre-War info. . .and when the town didn’t immediately hand it over to the Institute (I’m pretty sure, listening to the holotape again, they sent Kellogg to threaten them), they came in and wiped the place. It’s pretty intense stuff. I left Jon still exploring one of the University halls, praising Fallout 4’s ability to make random places interesting and worth exploring. Though he almost didn’t get a chance to explore the interior – for whatever reason, two of the three entrances in and out of the building suddenly just stopped working! Fortunately the third hadn’t mysteriously despawned, and he was able to get inside for more story and more junk. This is fun – I like seeing Jon’s reactions to stuff I already know about, but he didn’t at the time. I’m REALLY looking forward to his reaction to some of the later Brotherhood stuff – apparently he’s never really followed their questline before, which means he might not know the twist of “Blind Betrayal” in this playthrough. . .

B) Over to Linkara for the next seasonal episode of Atop The Fourth Wall, with a look at another Transformers UK Christmas comic! This one features Circuit Breaker, a genius mechanic and computer scientist who was paralyzed when the oil rig she was working on got a major shock during a Decepticon attack, and build herself a cyborg suit to allow herself to move again and give herself special powers (including not being cold in a suit that is essentially a techno-bikini). Unfortunately, the attack has led her to blame both the Decepticons AND the Transformers for her condition, and she’s a recurring villain in the series. Her appearance here is – weird, mostly focusing around her expositing about her backstory, saving a kid who fell through the ice during a snowball fight on a lake only to be called a freak, then misinterpreting a Transformer accidentally wrecking during a drive through the snow with their human friend Buster as an attack on the kid and trying to start a fight, only for Buster to get her to call it off by telling her it’s Christmas. Also, the Transfomers are confused as to what Christmas even is, and Optimus wears a Santa suit for no reason. It’s too short and just kinda meh, but after last week’s comic, I’ll actually just take that.

C) Then it was time for OXBox Xmas Challenge Day 2 – Jane and her usual “Giant Killing” challenge in FIFA 21! As happens every year, Jane must play everyone’s favorite soccer game and use a low-rated team (League One) to bet one of the best of the best (Premiereship). (Though, apparently, they looked back, and Jane’s only had this challenge three or so times – Mike’s also had it three times, and Andy got it the very first year they did it! I guess Jane’s attempts are just the funniest. XD) This year was Hull Tigers versus West Brom Thrussels, with Jane playing as the Tigers. And playing DIRTY – she’s learned the sliding tackle button, and she’s not afraid to use it! To the detriment of her team, it must be said – a couple of yellow cards got one player taken off the field in infamy. But she managed two rather spectacular goals too, including a side-swipe that had to be seen to be believed! Unfortunately, her opponents ALSO managed two goals, so the game ended up going into extra time. Jane chose to end it via Golden Goal – first to score a goal, wins. And, lucky her, she managed to coordinate her guys to score in the first couple of minutes! :D So she wins herself a Christmas point, and is currently in the lead! Now we just have to see what Mike gets tomorrow. . .

-->Wrote up one of the gift fics that I recently got a brief for, so yay, still keeping on top of that. Just two more to write, then it's pure editing until Christmas!

-->Found a video on how you save a Preset in LooksMenu -- now I just have to weigh the pros and cons of downloading the mod, which appears to be glitchy, for the sole purpose of saving the Victor Van Dort I crafted in this save game as a preset so I don't have to spend likely hours trying to redo it all over again (since I'm pretty sure I have to start another new game to PROPERLY fix whatever happened with the Nuka-World cleaning -- still Sour).

-->And then I took a turn into listening to various musical tunes thanks to a friend sharing a video of a Hamilton parody featuring Donald Trump, so I'm a little late in heading to bed. Whoops. Let me just answer my comment and get back on track there! Tomorrow should be more of the same as today, only substitute "cold" for rain. . .uuugh, just a few more days, Vic. Night all!
