Though in a weird way, it was also technically an early start -- namely because I woke up sometime around ass o'clock in the morning (I never actually checked the time) because I was cold and needed to go to the bathroom. So I did that, got back under all my blankets, then ended up turning my music back on because I could hear my parents starting to move around and didn't want that to keep me up. Ended up sleeping in to 10:30 once I fell asleep again. . .

And then I spent the rest of the morning watching a terrible Christmas disaster movie and working on the puzzle with my parents, in between making my smoothie. It wasn't until after 12:30 that I got dressed! Good thing I have two weeks off and can afford to have lazy starts like that. . .

Anyway -- even with that, how did I do on the old to-do list?

1. Read and review the final chapter of my friend's fanfic: Check! Took some time this afternoon to finish off that final chapter and write my comment! :D Hooray! Nice to not have that guilt hanging over my head anymore. . . If you’re curious about the fic, it’s Strange Magic – a Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency fic based on season 2. So if you haven’t seen that, it’s probably gonna be at least somewhat confusing. . .but if you have and you’re a fan, you’ll probably enjoy it. :)

2. Watch the OXBox/OXtra Christmas Challenges: Check! Here we go:

OXBox Xmas Challenge Day 8 – Jane versus the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater “Warehouse Wonderland” challenge! The rules: In the combined remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2, complete all goals in the Warehouse level in a single two-minute run! The boys were generous and gave Jane, largely unfamiliar with the game, as many “practice runs” as she wanted to get her hand in and figure out how to complete all the goals, and even gave her as many tips as they could on how to do combo tricks and whatnot. . .but in the end, all was for naught, as Jane could not pull off enough tricks in enough time to win her Christmas point. To be fair, there was a LOT she had to do (three different high scores, one combo high score, a number of little collect-a-thons, and a few specific tricks), and she didn’t make things easier on herself by constantly getting distracted by the cat added running by the outside grate in the remaster. XD So yes, she and Andy are currently tied at one, leaving Mike still in the lead! We’ll see if he widens the gap any further tomorrow. . .

OXTRA Christmas Challenge Day 3 – Luke vs Ellen in Untitled Goose Game, “Un-Co-Op Thievery Contest!” The challenge: In co-op mode (which is known, appropriately, as Untitled Geese Game), steal the gardener’s keys before the other player and get them into the yellow crate. Best out of five tries (resetting each time the gardener reclaims his keys from the crate) wins! Ellen played Classic Goose, while Luke played New Bumpy-Beaked Goose. And Luke and his goose kind of SMASHED the competition – turns out he’s VERY good at grabbing those keys, stealing them from Ellen as necessary, and getting them into the crate. He got the Christmas point in a mere three tries! Though, as they were having so much fun (seriously, Ellen is CONSTANTLY cracking up in these videos), they agreed to play the remaining two rounds anyway. Poor Ellen had one attempt snatched right out of her beak by the gardener, but managed in the end to get the keys into the crate once. Some dignity restored – if you can call playing Untitled Goose Game dignified. XD

3. Catch up at least a little on YouTube Subscriptions: Technically check, though I was hoping to get a little more done on this front. As it is, I got one of the Call Me Kevin videos piling up out of the way – Landlord’s Super, a game all about being a British landlord! Well, it says that – in practice, it’s a game about living in a caravan, peeing on people, being filthy, selling items you drag into a skip (after having to give a delivery driver job to someone else as you don’t have a license for it), and getting a job as a pot washer at the local pub, only to be continually barred because you keep smashing your glasses after having your pints. XD Oh, and there was a bit of renovation of a very grody house, once Kevin figured out how to access the build site. And how to steal his supplies instead of buying them. XD What, he had a bad influence in “Scouser” Jim! (Who am I kidding, Kevin never needs a bad influence.) He got one square foot of weak concrete foundation poured by the time he ended the video. XD Good stuff – hopefully tomorrow I can properly catch up on him and Gray!

4. Figure out what I need to do to fix my Fallout 4 DLC stuff (THANKS, FO4Edit) and what that means for my current save: Unfortunately no -- this one I blame on the late start and me trying to keep up on the YouTubes. Though I did do a little searching on the subject of replacing the .esm files. . .just didn't come up with a lot. I will have to put more effort into this tomorrow, as, you know, I would actually like to play this game again. Properly.

5. Edit another gift fic: Check! Another one bites the dust, for my main RP partner over on The Valice Multiverse. She actually had two ideas for a gift fic that I was able to combine into one (one a scenario, one a setting), so I imagine she’ll be pleased with the end result. :) Four to go!

6. Get in some sort of workout: Check! Got back on the bike for a 25 minute ride, and watched some more of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! We finished up episode 30 today – after poking around in the FEV lab, Grills Bears delivered Virgil’s holotape to Dr. Li, who was horrified and furious about how the Institute had lied to her. So she’s heading back to the Brotherhood – via secret NPC teleport, because obviously she can’t walk out with Grills, that would be too weird. Grills also picked up the Warwick Homestead quest, “Building a Better Crop,” which Jon was excited about – let’s grow some weirdly huge melons! XD With his time in the Institute temporarily over, Grills telported back up to the CIT Ruins, then headed over to Hangman’s Alley to clean up his junk, give his power armor a final upgrade, and catch some sleep. Next day was all about getting out into Boston and clearing up some quests – picking up “Curtain Call” (the quest where you meet Strong), going back into his FAVORITE building for a “Jackpot” quest for the Railroad, and then visiting RR HQ itself to see if he could do both Railroad missions and BOS ones at the same time. Answer? Uh – not really. He was able to start “Underground Undercover" by talking to Desdemona and saying he’d do her mission, but since it involved giving the holotape in his possession to Tinker Tom, he had to back out. It hasn’t auto-failed yet (to Jon’s surprise), but I’m sure that’s coming. At any rate, he does have a mission to kill a Courser from P.A.M. (and apparently doing so does NOT break your cover as an Institute Agent), so that’s a little extra XP from the Railroad, anyway. He ended the episode back at the Boston Airport and the Prydwen, giving the tape to Proctor Ingram, giving Maxson the good news about Dr. Li. . .and then picking up an interesting quest called “Liberty Reprimed. . .” Yes, as the start of episode 31 showed, the Brotherhood is trying to get their ultra-American nuke-throwing robot back up and running, and Grills is going to help! How, I don’t know yet, because I had to pause while Jon was asking, but I’m sure it’ll involve a lot of fetch quests! :P What I’m really waiting for is the reaction to “Blind Betrayal” starting. . .

7. Watch Jon's latest Fallout 4 YOLO video: Check! Today was “Adventures In South Boston” day, with Jon making his way back to base (and killing a few last raiders along the way) to drop off junk and check out his gear before making a few level up decisions – namely, Gun Nut 2 and Hacker 2. Gun Nut 2 in order to mod up his new combat rifle to bring the appropriate amount of pain; Hacker 2 because he was on the hunt for some nice new power armor for Miss Finalley. In fact, he was out and about in the wastes of Southern Boston for three things specifically:

1. The Railway Rifle, found at Big Jon’s Salvage Yard – unfortunately, Finalley had to abandon this one, as the place turned out to have more and tougher super mutants in it than Jon had first anticipated. He picked a good number of them off with his sniper rifle, but eventually had to leave because the numbers of enemies were too great. Not to mention the Gunners and Raiders nearby. . .also bears. Jon nearly got Finalley eaten by bears. XD

2. The guaranteed power armor spawn at the South Boston Checkpoint – this went a little better, with Jon able to take out the small amount of Gunners inside and hack the terminal. Unfortunately, it was T51 armor, when he was hoping for T60 – the comments revealed he was a level too low for the good stuff to spawn! He still went ahead and took it, mind. . .and promptly started regretting that as he had to sneak through ALL the raider camps on his way through South Boston. Managed to avoid any major hassles, at least, and even got some nice combat armor off a Legendary Raider. So that’s something!

3. Taking back The Castle for the Minutemen – yup, the whole reason he wanted power armor and Fat Man launchers and the like! And a buttload of mines. He and the other Minutemen went in guns blazing, took care of the smaller Mirelurks (sort of – Jon kept finding new nests after they were supposedly “done”) – and, much like in the Survival Playthrough, a bunch of mines dropped near where the Mirelurk Queen spawns took care of her without Jon even having to risk using a Fat Man. XD Awesome!

So yes, Jon now has a nice-ish set of power armor, the Castle, and Radio Freedom. And five million quests from Preston Garvey, because Preston’s AI has been set to “maximum annoying” when it comes to radiant quests, sadly. (This is part of why I downloaded the “We Are The Minutemen” mod – it’s guaranteed to calm Preston the fuck down. XD And give him a snazzy new recolor of his outfit!) He’s actually planning on taking a sort of holiday next episode, though, hanging around the Castle in the hopes that Old Guns will start with him there so he can greet Ronnie. . .and figure out how to deal with SARGE. The Minutemen’s old malfunctioning sentry bot. *gulps* Dude, you’ve guaranteed there will be an episode of this on my birthday, which I much appreciate. Can you try now to make sure that episode is not the last?

Other:

-->Also finally answered my FF.net friend’s latest PM, which is good – we’re both kind of sluggish on the replies these days, though, so I don’t feel too guilty. XD Plus I’ve gotten her gift fic sorted, so that’s nice.

-->Bonus video of the day – in my Recommendeds, there was a video from a guy who said he’d played Among Us with Kevin without realizing it. Turns out said guy was Big PP from Kevin’s “Father K” run! So that was fun to see a bit of his side of it. XD

-->Currently doing The Valice Multiverse's queue, as well as preparing to do some DW RP stuff. I'm going to TRY to head to bed a little earlier (like how back in April I was going to bed around 12:30 on weekdays) to help distinguish "ordinary weekdays" from weekends/holidays, but we'll see how that goes. Definitely going to get to bed before 2 AM, though. That seems to be working out for me.

Okay, time to get back to queuing and answering tumblr messages and comments and the like. To-do list for tomorrow:

1. Catch up on subscriptions (at the very least, I need to watch all my Kevins, or all my Grays, though I'm hoping for both)

2. Watch the next OXBox and OXtra Christmas Challenges

3. Edit another gift fic

4. Get some of the edited gift fics that will be posted on tumblr put into drafts

5. Figure out the Fallout 4 mess so I can play it (and remake Victor if I have to)

I think that covers just about everything -- I have a couple of things in my Watch Later, but catching up on subscriptions should come first! And take longer; Kevin and Gray are both doing some longer vids lately. But hey, at least it'll be fun. And I'll have plenty of time to do it all in. :D Night all!
