Later Start Saturday

This is what happened in a nutshell:
Me last night: "Okay, it's two AM -- let's get to bed and get some sleep."
Me early this morning: "Ah shit, it's my alarm. I don't wanna get up and -- wait a minute, Vic, it's Saturday! Get the stuffies you knocked out of bed and go back to sleep!"
Me MUCH LATER this morning: "Oh, conscious again -- yeah, I guess I ought to get up. Wonder what time it -- WHAT THE FUCK IT'S ALMOST ELEVEN-THIRTY?!"
Yeaaah -- turns out when I went back to sleep that first time, I zonked out a lot harder than I expected! I haven't slept that late without being sick in quite some time! Not exactly a fan of it either, as it made it feel like I had less time in general today. . .though thanks to my parents having late breakfasts and whatnot as well, the whole day was kind of off-kilter, time-wise. We didn't eat lunch until two-thirty, and dinner until seven-thirtyish. I mean, I suppose it wasn't a huge deal or anything -- Dad was watching football all day, Mom working on the puzzle, and I was doing YouTube and video games -- but still. Bit of a wonky first Saturday after a full week of work!
Speaking of YouTube and video games, how did I do on the to-do list?
1. Get as close as I can to finishing the Valice Multiverse verse revamps: Check! Or check-ish, anyway. I made some decent progress on this before lunch – I’ve got the Cuddlepile and Inevitable High School verse sections like 99% complete! Hopefully I can at least get the basic descriptions and tag lists for a few of the others in my list sorted before I go to bed!
2. Keep up on my YouTube Subscriptions and watch at least the Plumbella videos in my Watch Later: Check! Here we go:
A) Call Me Kevin plays more Rust! He, uh, woke up dead again. XD Some guy going by ToxicWaste jackhammered into his house to steal his stuff, and openly admitted to killing Kevin just so he couldn’t wake up and stop him. But this exchange led to Kevin meeting Ziqqo! A nice sort who helped Kevin out by giving him some materials, and even an old base that he’d been using as a decoy! Yeah, turns out he and Toxic had history, and Z was only too happy to help out a victim. Kevin, however, was determined to win Toxic over, and tried approaching him to give him a present. This – did not work out well, and Kevin got grenaded. But this brought OptimalFailure into the group, who also wanted to help out the newbie! Kevin, Z, and Optimal ended up becoming the cave-exploring team, even finding a half-finished base down there that Kevin promptly decided to adopt as their own! . . .and then he used some of the materials Z gathered and gave him for that purpose making a porch for his new house. XD Z was a bit annoyed. XD On the plus side, Kevin DID eventually make peace with Toxic, who ended up giving him a bunch of clothes and stuff, and was even calling him buddy by the end of the session! :) And the Z-K-O group did get their underground base built, complete with a jam session to celebrate! This game is so weird and I really hope it becomes one of Kevin’s semi-regular series for a while.
B) Then it was onto the pair of Plumbella videos in my Watch Later:
1. A look at a new mod for The Sims 4 which lets you make your own custom world. Or, rather, it looks like it takes over one side of Newcrest and lets you edit that into a sort of custom location? Plumbella didn’t go through the whole “tutorial” video before she downloaded it in a fit of sobbing squee. XD At any rate, it’s by a guy who previously did a whole “open world” mod expansion, “Brookheights,” (name of Arnie) so I guess he knows what he’s doing. And from what Plumbella played of the mod itself, it looks like a hell of a thing! You can add a variety of world objects, from set dressing to actual interactive bits (campsites, graveyards, the fucking Foxbury University campus. . .), design roads, make oceans, all that fun stuff. Though Plumbella quickly learned that clipping is a thing (like bits of a forest appearing on the road, forcing you to delete trees one by one) – and that it’s very easy to put everyone underwater with the ocean if you’re not careful. XD Basically, if you get this mod, you probably want the T.O.OL. mod by TwistedMexi that lets you edit objects and adjust terrain outside of your home lot as well. They kind of work hand-in-hand. But yeah, if you’ve been craving the ability to create an at least semi-open world, with new things for Sims to do, and don’t mind sacrificing a chunk of Newcrest, this could be your thing!
2. A list of the things she would like to show up in Sims 4 in 2021! Can be summed up as “Sims 3 Generations with more things to do for all life stages that aren’t young adult (also make babies less object-like)” (I’m not much of a family player myself, but I would like this for the families I DO have); “THEME PARK PACK with hotels and whatnot” (YES THIS IS ONE OF MY BIG WANTS TOO LET’S DO IT); “Farming with stuff like tractors and whatnot” (sure thing, I like gardening); “less American-centric gameplay; give me a world that’s like my own home in northern England” (you know what? Fair; the game could use more culture); “some smaller free improvements like cars, hair and clothing color sliders, and more updates for sentiments” (I am cool with these, yes). So yeah, I basically agree with all of these desires and hope that at least a couple come true. (Seriously I want in-game theme parks Eaxis MAKE IT HAPPEN)
C) And over with GrayStillPlays, we’re actually playing Happy Wheels today. XD More bottle flips (with Gray managing to flip a bottle into a rapidly rotating area – and then flipping the bottle into the PRONGS of the rotating area, so it was essentially FLOATING), the hardest jet wall run he’s done (you know you’re in for pain when you have two levels called “Demon” and “God”), a rope swing that was just “can you get yourself through this tiny gap in the spike wall?” (Gray could, but it took a lot of spikes to the wiener!), a spike fall where the secret “extra inpossible” fall was actually easier than the real one, and a BENT bottle run (which Gray completed! I should float my “loop-de-loop bottle run” idea in the comments for people. . .). All conquered by the one, the only, Gray. :D
3. Play Sims 4 (which save file to be determined): Check! I ended up going back to my Test File Victor and Alice, simply because I felt like staying with them for a while. Ended up playing them through a couple of days, with the following highlights:
-->Got them through a successful Prank Day, with the help of Clement Frost asking to come over and hang out and a couple of random sims passing by later in the day! The extra aspiration points are always nice.
-->Downloaded them a new little Victorian starter home off the Gallery, as I was sick of their literal box house – unfortunately, I forgot to grab all the lights AND Victor’s plants, so now he has to restart his garden and I ended up paying quite a lot to replace the lights. And, uh, expand the floorplan of the house a little, as it was TINY! I don’t get how people play in such narrow houses. . . Things are more or less working now, though. Once they actually come into some money, though, I intend on more adjustments. (Like, you know, actually putting plumbing in the downstairs bathroom.)
-->Learned that Victor was getting the “Indoorsy” lifestyle and so counteracted that the next day by making him spend lots of time outside, fishing, gathering plants, and finding collectibles – honestly, the only reason “Indoorsy” was even a thing for Mr. “I have the Loves Outdoors trait” was because the snow was taking its sweet time clearing out of Willow Creek at the start of spring! Ugh. . .
-->Got the pair of them into University! They’re both attending Britechester, and in Distinguished Degrees – Victor’s in the Fine Arts program, while Alice is taking Art History. I was thinking I would have to get them some loans to actually attend school (even if I’m having them live at home), but nope – with the scholarships they received, Victor’s first term only cost $110 bucks, and Alice a mere $10! Which is good, as their bills took a nasty spike with the new house. At least Alice’s paintings have made up for some of the lost cash!
-->Had Alice research some information on vampires, because she had a whim for it and – yeah, her becoming one is probably gonna happen. XD
So yeah, that was all very fun, and I’m glad I have this file where I can just play without worrying about taking fifty million pictures too. :p
4. Get in a workout: Not checked, though I’m not that surprised, given how late I got up. I was going to try and sneak something in after my Simming session, but then that ran long (two and a half hours!), sooo – yeah. No big deal – gonna try and get back into the groove tomorrow!
And in Other:
-->Bonus YouTube of the day:
A) Had to watch this – an old clip of The Late Late Show with James Corden featuring John Mulaney and Zooey Deschanel, talking about Mulaney’s “J.J. Bittenbinder” routine. Turns out that a) Bittenbinder is the guy’s real name, and b) the thing he was most sour about in the bit was Mulaney claiming he wore a cowboy hat with his suits – yes, he wears cowboy hats, but for cattle drives, not teaching kids “Street Smarts!” XD James also freaked out Mulaney briefly by claiming they’d gotten Bittenbinder on the show, which – missed opportunity, in my opinion. I wanted to see what this guy looked like. XD
B) And then a short collection of vines that reminded the compiler of Gray and his Sims. XD Featuring some very accurate depictions of Florida Man and Spleens!
-->Helped out with the puzzle for a little bit after supper -- it's coming along, slowly but surely!
And that's about it -- I'm currently doing some RP stuff, and I have stuff to answer, so I'd better get on that before the night's out. Especially since I think I should probably try to get to bed a bit earlier tonight. . .anyway, tomorrow's to-dos:
1. Continue with work on the Valice Multiverse verse updates
2. Watch the three remaining videos in my Watch Later, tomorrow's Call Me Kevin, and Jon's newest Fallout 4 YOLO episode
3. Play Fallout 4 and attempt to make something resembling progress
4. Get in a workout
Again, should be doable -- also, if you're wondering why GrayStillPlays isn't in my YouTube items? Simply a case of upload times -- in my time zone, Kevin uploads in the afternoon; Gray at night. Jon's YOLO episode is late afternoon, so I watch it at night -- and it's also typically about an hour long, so I don't really have time for anything else. I'm just keeping it real! As long as I stay caught up on Kevin, I can start Monday with a double-Gray and not worry about my Subscriptions videos becoming a mountain I have to climb.
But that's something to worry about tomorrow. Right now, I have shit to do. Night all!
