crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)

Yeaaaah -- so, that snow we were supposed to get today? The small storm that was supposed to come in after five and dump an inch or three on us before petering off after midnight and eventually changing to rain and snow showers?

Yeah, that arrived at 2:30 and led to me having one of my most stressful rides home ever. The one plus was that my work let us go at four due to the bad weather, but DAMN. All the roads were slushy, slippery messes, and I could FEEL my wheels starting to skid almost every time I turned. I couldn't even make it into the garage when I got home! Mom ended up having to put the car in for me. *wince* I really HATE living in New England sometimes. . .on the plus side, at least they've already guaranteed us an hour delay in the morning, so that's something. Get a little extra time to myself! And considering it snowed for longer and harder than they said, I'm not entirely convinced it won't turn into something more. Looks like it may have stopped (or at least gotten really light) for the moment, but I dunno. . .

Anyway -- workday was kinda stressful (tracking down various problems for people, although at least SOME of my issues got resolved), but I got through it and got home in one piece. And I haven't done too badly at the afternoon to-do list:

1. Continue working on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff: Check – finished up “The Technicolor Phase” section today! Or, well, the first draft of same. . .I am definitely going to want to double-check the “confirmed colors” lists for everyone. I swear, I just had to make life difficult for myself here by not writing down who had what before. . .at least most of them are easy to guess from the titles?

2. Keep up best I can with YouTube Subscriptions: Check, again, because of the qualification – James uploaded again, but I didn’t have time for his video. Hopefully tomorrow I can clear out everything! At least I’m good with my other two boys –

A) First, let’s catch up with Call Me Kevin. We had:

1. Fortnite, in 2021! Yeah, first Gray, then Kevin. O.o Kevin had the excuse of it being a sponsored video, apparently to show off the new football kit skins. Now, I always thought this was a team game with specific characters you played while doing specific missions, but apparently there’s a more freeform battle royale mode now as well? Hmmm. . .well, if they can make challenge maps for Gray, they can do this as well, I guess. Kevin tried a couple of team games – the first didn’t go so well, with his teammates mainly just destroying the nice house he found and giggling at him (I want to assume someone recognized his username and wanted to turn the chaos on him for a while) before they all died, but the second resulted in a massive comeback when Kevin, hiding from the enemy with one health, managed to revive his fallen teammates, and they all worked together to get a Victory Royale! :D Kevin was very excited. Kevin then tried a few solo battle royale runs, and promptly got more invested in fishing than actually shooting people. XD You know what, Kevin, I feel you. I’d probably trying to be stealthily playing this as a survival sim if I was in it myself. XD (Actually, given everyone else trying to kill you, I guess it is a survival sim of sorts. . .)

2. GTA: San Andreas with the – “Rainbowmiser” Mod (Kevin wasn’t sure how to say it). What does this mod do?

RANDOMIZE. LITERALLY. EVERYTHING. Character models from one area to the next, one cutscene to the next! Voice lines – they may even be replaced with sound effects! Vehicles – the streets of San Andreas are filled with boats, hovercraft, helicopters, airplanes, and even movable stairs! Just – anything that could possibly be randomized, was. It led to a lot of cutscenes with creepy jawless people, but also a lot of laughs. :D And Kevin actually managed to complete four missions in one episode, which is a new personal best when it comes to him and GTA mods! Good for you, Kevin. :)

B) And then onto GrayStillPlays, with – dun dun dun – a new game. This one? Guts and Glory, which is – essentially, 3-D Happy Wheels. Now with more buzzsaws! :D Gray of course leapt right into a bunch of impossible challenges, including a cone run (like a bottle run, but with traffic cones), a long-ass obstacle dodge, the stairs of doom (where Tom Hardy takes center stage on his little bike! Suzy would join him but he couldn’t keep her wagon with him), and a terrifying parkour course that took Gray AGES to get through. You hear that kind of suffering in his voice, you KNOW a game is gonna be good. XD

3. Get in a workout: Check! Another bike ride, another round of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Started Episode 46 with Jon taking a look at all his various weapons, weighing stopping power against weight to get the correct loadout for his journey with Nick up to the Nakano residence to start the Far Harbor DLC. Funnily enough, Nick must like you modding weapons or something (as Jon took a moment to upgrade his Enraging Lever-Action to be even lighter – the value isn’t in the power of the hit, but in getting enemies to fight), as Grills got Affinity Conversation Two right afterward! Nothing about Eddie Winter, just Nick going over his past. Which, you know, is actually really appropriate right before they take the journey and everything Nick knows about himself is questioned.

Once the heart-to-heart was over and he’d chosen his guns, Grills called in a vertbird (musing that it was surprisingly tolerant of the Brotherhood to allow Nick aboard) and took a journey to the Slog to start his trip north! . . .He immediately found himself in the middle of an attack on the settlement by an Assaultron and a Legendary Colonel Mr. Gutsy. He fought bravely and well with the ghoul residents of the tarberry farm, but the Gutsy managed to take him out. Whoops. Back to the previous save point for take two, in which Grills got into his power armor and took THAT along. And in which the game spawned just the one Assaultron – and a Deathclaw, which managed to sneak up on Grills but fortunately wasn’t able to take him apart because power armor. Grills did struggle to kill it due to a mysterious lack of action points, but eventually he brought it down, along with the Assaultron. . .and Art number three! Yes, apparently another instance of the “Art vs Art” random encounter, which Grills already experienced, spawned, and he was forced to kill another synth Art who opened fire on him. The hell, game. O.o

ANYWAY, with that all wrapped up, Grills and Nick set out across the wastes! They swung by an old quarry, where Jon had Grills spent some time testing out the Explosive .50cal sniper (and taking a load of damage in the process when Nick got in the way of one of his shots) – I wasn’t sure what it was at first (looked vaguely like where you go to start the Vault 88 stuff, but that’s much lower on the map), but apparently that’s Dunwich Borers! Good information to have. . .there’s also a location nearby called Hugo’s Hole that is radioactive as hell, but provides some good hints as to how creepy Dunwich really is. Jon picked up the holotape, then finally got Grills and Nick to his actual destination – the Museum of Witchcraft in Salem! Where he encountered a weird Gunner corpse outside with a holotape -- listening to it revealed more or less the last moments of the Gunner encampment inside. . .I left Grills and Nick wandering around the museum’s basement, getting ready to go up against the GUARANTEED Deathclaw inside. Wonder what path Grills will choose for the associated mini-quest. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: About three-quarters of a check -- I got the Victor Luvs Alice queue, with tomorrow's Newcrest Adventures update, sorted, but my Valice Multiverse queue. . .there was more thread activity than I expected over there, and with me again having a bit of a late start thanks to us watching Taskmaster with dinner (which is funny, but also forty-five minutes, and when we eat at seven. . .) I'm honestly ALMOST done with it, but given that I don't want to go to bed any later than I normally do, I'll probably have to draft this current reply and finish up in the morning. Meeh.

Oh, and I still have that other comment to answer as well. . .let me see if I can get that done quick, then go to bed. Might let myself sleep in a half-hour, since I'll have the extra time in the morning. . .we'll see! Night all~
