crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)

We've got our first appointment to go to a dealership and look at a car tomorrow -- Mom and I were looking this afternoon once we got home, and we found a Chevy Sonic Hatchback with good mileage, a decent price, and a "passion fruit" exterior. AKA, the car is freaking PURPLE. XD You can't help but feel like that MIIIGHT be a sign. We're heading down to the place to check it out at 11 AM tomorrow. If we're lucky, it might be the one! If we're not. . .well, there's a couple of other possibilities still out there, I suppose. Just would be nice to have this more or less over with sooner rather than later. . .

As for the rest of my day --

Work – Shockingly quiet – we had like, two calls all day? I did the GL, I processed some gifts, I worked on exceptions. . .there were a few little bumps at the beginning and end of the day with looking up credit card gifts, but other than that. . .trust me, I’ll take a kinda-boring day over a super-stressful one!

Beanbags – Nope – raining when I left work, so no go. And it’s looking like much of the weekend is going to be at least drizzly now? *sigh* I mean, we’ll see!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – got on the treadmill today after looking at cars with Mom, and watched more of Helloween’s Untitled Goose Game stream archive! He completed the back gardens, ended up looping back around the river to the garden and getting the gardener (after MANY missed attempts) to put his sunhat on, and then went into the pub and accomplished most of the to-do list there (for some reason he didn’t even seem to register the “set the table” task). This’ll finish up tomorrow, as he’s already in the model village and there’s only twelve minutes left in the video. Then I’ll have to find something else to watch – I’m sure something will pop up!

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Decided to go ahead and give this another go again tonight – got a good page in this time, with Vandal telling Alice he doesn’t have the werewolf blood she’s after and she’ll have to go skulk around the main clinic. She’s just picked the lock on the door into the main hall and has gotten in undetected – now it’s just a matter of Obfuscating her way to St. Martin’s office. (Not that HE’LL have the blood, but she’s got to figure out where it is and how you open its cabinet first anyway. . .)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check (apart from the obvious “still need to listen to the Wyrd Sisters Podcast” thing). And it turned out to be a very Sims-themed night –

A) Started with the new “gameplay trailer” to drop from Sims 4: Cottage Living! As narrated by Harold the llama, who is a snarky little bastard, it must be said. I am intrigued by the pack, though – looks like there’s going to be plenty to do if you like growing your own food and whatnot! I think it would sync very well with my hopes for various game challenges. . .we’ll see if it lives up to the hype!

B) Then it was onto James Turner for a side video regarding his current save file – namely, it’s time to straighten out the timeline a touch and send a few beloved but EXTREMELY elderly Sims to the netherworld. Mostly because generations six through eleven were still alive thanks to only his active played household aging, meaning we had Sims from the Seasons LP straight through Snowy Escape/Paranormal Stuff stuff alive! Yeah, seems like a few of them needed to go. . . James went through and aged up a bunch of Sims, killing off all the generations before Eco Lifestyle and Realm of Magic (apart from Bob’s robot, Misdemenoir) and turning the EL/RoM generation into elders (well, the ones that should LOGICALLY be elders into elders – Lilith was spared because she’s a vampire, while Column got aged up but should never die because of her immortality potion. Reginald, however, remains a baby simply because he JUST got a nursery). He also bulldozed the lighthouse on Deadgrass Isle in Brindleton Bay to turn into a Bigwallet Cemetery, collecting all the graves he could find (including some older ones still stuck in their houses) and putting them on the plot. He hasn’t decided on a design yet, but at least all the graves of all the past generations of Bigwallets are in one place!

C) And then it was time to catch up with Call Me Kevin –

I. From yesterday, a trip back to the Sims 2 Kevin, who – well. . .okay, so Kevin had a plan to make money, and that was selling his microphone and some windows and shrubbery and whatnot to adopt some cats and make THEM get jobs so he could leech off their income. This – well, it SORT of worked, with the first cat (a Siamese called Hard Worker) getting a decent Security job and keeping the family just BARELY afloat with his $130 daily salary. This did not solve all their ills, though, as Kevin trying to get the nanny back over ended in her STEALING THE FAMILY TOILET. The toddlers aged up to CHILDREN (one badly, one – decently? I’m shocked too) before Kevin had the funds to replace it. Mostly because he kept having to spend money on things like grocery delivery or repairing the computer the nanny busted (he tried to fix it himself, but only got electrocuted for his trouble). And then a dog (or maybe a wolf) he invited in to try and make friends completely destroyed his bed, and it took him AGES to fix that too! Wooof. . . Uh, no pun intended. XD Things started looking up briefly when having children around to eat his vast amount of grilled cheese sandwiches gave Sim!Kevin enough aspiration points to successfully buy and use the counterfeiting machine, and they were able to get a second cat, Work Horse, who got a lucky chance card and an immediate promotion. . .but then the cats were taken away because Work Horse refused to eat, and the counterfeiting machine caught fire, causing Kevin to burn to death. And possibly one of the children too. XD That’s two deaths for him in this series! Luckily he has a slightly-earlier save he can roll back to, but damn. XD

II. And then it’s back into Sims 4 with Jim Pickens taking on a new career – Dream Home Decorator! Yup, Kevin finally has that pack and is turning Jim from a ghostbuster (non-copyrighted) to an interior designer! In a house that ALSO did not have a toilet, and when Kevin finally added one, he put it in the kitchen. XD Anyway, Jim’s renovations included turning someone’s living room into a creepy black room full of mannequins, a boxing bag, and a séance table; ripping the roof off another person’s living room and painting it red and putting a rocket inside; and tearing out the kitchen of an apartment full of babies and dumping all his trash in there. Also aging up all the children into toddlers, except for the one that was taken away. ...Every renovation was a success and Jim is even being given referrals and repeat jobs. If ANYTHING illustrates how weird and broken this pack is. . . XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, though I have to take away my check from yesterday – turns out, thanks to the thunderstorm and me trying to catch up on other stuff, I forgot to change my queue posting speed on Victor Luvs Alice from “three a day” back to “one a day” and thus everything except my second Song Saturday post went up today. *grumbles* I put something new in from my drafts for Friday and edited the remaining Song Saturday post to make more sense, but that still annoys me a little.

As for Valice Multiverse – four asks, one thread reply. At least THAT one I can be assured won’t have its queue misfire! (Or, at least, if it does, it’s not my fault.)

So yeah, a day of mild frustrations and small joys and a lot of anxiety and hopeful anticipation. We'll see how tomorrow goes. . . As I will be out of the house for a decent portion of the day (dealership visit, plus a non-zero chance I get a freaking haircut), I will keep my other to-dos light:

1. Work on the HypnoKink Notes Document

2. Watch something out of the Watch Later as well as keeping up with YouTube Subs

3. Play either Sims 4 or Portal Reloaded

4. Get in a workout

Yeah, I think that's fairly reasonable given the circumstances. Wish me luck tomorrow, folks! Night all!
