Time Keeps On Slippin' Slippin' Slippin'
Jul. 29th, 2021 11:23 pmAKA the night's gotten away from me without me noticing, so let's just quickly do the standard update and then get moving:
Work – Another pretty quiet day – I ended up spending a good portion of my morning e-mailing people who haven’t gotten back to us about certain issues, and then packing up old general ledgers so they could be taken into storage downstairs. And then, after another couple of credit card calls, it was back to duplicates and obits. *shrugs* We’ll see how tomorrow goes!
Beanbags – Nope – we MIGHT have been able to do it, but it clouded up pretty fast this afternoon, so the threat of rain kept us indoors. (Probably rightfully too, as it did sprinkle a little bit today -- and we just had a burst of harder rain. Meeh.) Tomorrow should be a better shake!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check! Another thirty on the bike, meaning more time with Jon’s Original FO4 Playthrough! After a bit more fooling around on the church roof, and then squeeing over Dogmeat’s sit-up trick, Miss Jon finally went into the Museum of Freedom and started taking care of the raiders! She took a rank of Lockpicking to get past the Advanced gate without going through the exhibits along the side – Past!Jon initially thought it was a secret area and was disappointed to find it was not. He also discovered that he really had to be more discerning with his junk pick-up, as it was VERY easy to hit weight capacity with everything there is to loot! (Hard same, Past!Jon, hard same. . .) But Miss Jon eventually made it up, around, and past all the raiders, meeting up with Preston Garvey and agreeing to help him and his little crew to end Episode 2.
Episode 3 started with – a bit of a mild reset, mostly because Past!Jon had gotten his hands on the PC version of the game (reminder – to get started early, he purchased the XBOX version first), and thus had to recreate Miss Jon and redo everything up to the point where he left off (with a few changes, such as taking the first rank of Rifleman over Lockpicking). Having accidentally gotten the fusion core off-camera (not a huge deal), Miss Jon proceeded to the roof to pick up her power armor and get fighting the raiders – and, of course, the Deathclaw! Which proved to be a formidable opponent indeed, especially when battling it with an inaccurate minigun. (Damn thing really isn’t worth the bother.) But with a lot of careful retreating inside buildings and up onto rooftops, Miss Jon managed to take the damn thing out!
. . .and exploded a car in the process, which killed her immediately afterward. XD Whoops. I left it off on her PROPERLY killing the Deathclaw without getting murdered herself. XD Good times!
2. Write some more on “Learn To Love Again”: Check – I’ve finished off Chapter 2 with Alice talking about how she didn’t expect Victor to be that nice, and fun to talk to – and then meeting up with June and learning about the “corpse bride” incident. XD Chapter 3 will start with her meeting up with Victor again with June as back-up, wanting to hear all about this – which is good, as Victor wants to hear about HER history too. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Again, only a half check – at least I didn’t have to worry about falling any further behind with Gray today! And I’m almost to my vacation, so soon I’ll be able to do ALL the catching up, yay. . .but for now –
A) Caught up with yesterday’s Cottage Living LP episode from James Turner – you know, the one that was just shy of an hour. Though, in James’s defense, a LOT happened during this episode! With the highlights being:
I. Building Chicken Island for the evil chicken – based on a favorite comment, James made an island in the middle of his pond for Hennibal the Evil Chicken, complete with a bridge with a big old gate on it to keep her properly isolated from the other chickens. It’s totally usable and Chaz and Trenton can feed her and everything, so she’s not totally isolated – it just amuses James to have her there.
II. Doing Errands for Kim – mostly because she is the most reliable source of upgrade parts for the coops and sheds. Chaz has given her golden wool and a blue egg so far to get her favor and her parts, and has given Cowlene a nice life-extender addition to her shed!
III. Foraging Frogs in the Bramblewood – yes, apparently catching frogs in there counts for the “forage five things from the Bramblewood” goal of the pack’s aspiration. Which is good, because those dang plants aren’t growing! But going back for frogs will slowly but surely get Chaz his aspiration points.
IV. Automating the Garden – Trenton has successfully befriended Patchy, so now he comes to life and helps tend to everything, and of course we still have our bird and bunny friends to help with bugs and weeds. And James finally figured out the perfect placement for the sprinklers to guarantee they’ll water at least two patches at once, so now he’s getting all of those to put around and automate watering. His hope is that Chaz and Trenton will just have to plant, do a bit of fertilizing, and harvest their crops eventually. We’ll see if it ever comes to pass!
V. Winning The Finchwick Fair – Chaz lugged his 16 kg eggplant to the Oversized Crops fair and managed to get first place! Mostly because the other competitors submitted small lettuces and mushrooms. XD Next week is the Llama fair, and James totally plans to enter Lenny as a golden llama. XD
So yeah, they are keeping busy! James’s enthusiasm for this pack is deeply contagious, I must admit. And now that I’ve got confirmation that MC Command Center is all sorted, I think I’ll be buying it this weekend. . .
B) And then we had Call Me Kevin and – um, actually, I’m not sure he ever said the name of the game. It’s a mobile game where you have to solve puzzles, except all the puzzles are HORRIBLY MURDERING PEOPLE. Everything from simply spilling water all over the floor so some unlucky rando will electrocute themselves, to dropping flowerpots on girls to make them jump down a manhole in surprise, to exploding a grill and skewering a couple nearby with the parts, to – you get the idea. Kevin persevered through many terrible ads to kill an even 50 people, good for him. :p Best part is, I’m pretty certain I’ve seen Gray play this particular game before, and I don’t think he got this far. Hey, Gray, you’re lagging behind here – go start murdering mobile pixels again!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – found a nice Poets of the Fall post on my blog to reblog for Song Saturday on Victor Luvs Alice, and cleared up everything in Valice Multiverse – five asks and one thread reply! Busy over there today. . .but it’s all sorted now, so that’s good. :)
Whew! Not bad, not bad. . . And now I just have to answer my comment and head to bed, because I still have tomorrow morning to get through! Hopefully it won't be too miserable (weather or work-wise). . .night all!
