Glad To See The End Of This Week

crossover_chickYou know a day isn't going to be great when you stir in the morning, go to look at your alarm clock, and realize you forgot to set your alarm and thus slept in. Only by seven minutes, fortunately, and I was able to claw it back, but still. And then there was the usual dealing with traffic, and having to stop to get gas on my way home, and a really bad game of SimsGuessr (I CANNOT identify Magnolia Promenade for the life of me), and all the other stresses of the day. . .seriously, why is it sometimes the short weeks are my most stressful ones? *sigh*
All right, I also promised my friend Squid we'd try to start the Friday Night Writing Thing early, so let's get through the to-do list of the day:
Work – Ugh – another day where I felt like I wasn’t getting nearly enough done on the things that needed to be done. More credit card calls (most of which I had to leave a message), a payment that wouldn’t go through, trying to craft an e-mail to the credit card people, and just. . .it’s frustrating, you know? It really is. Glad it’s the weekend again.
Beanbags – Yes, despite looming clouds and cooler-than-anticipated temperatures. Ended up having a really bad day, which I blame on my cranky mood – lost every game. Dad got W-W-2, and Mom got 2-2-W. I mean, we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: No check – after the day (and week) I’ve had, I was just – too tired. We’ll see if I can make it up tomorrow, or just start fresh on Sunday, I suppose!
2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check! Alice has finished reading Lily’s diary, learning her last entry was in August and mentioned her going to try and steal blood from the blood bank (having survived off rats in the interim, as she couldn’t bring herself to feed off humans after what happened with E). Alice is not THRILLED to have to go deal with Vandal, but needs must, and so she’s back in his little hole, ready to ask him about how to get into the morgue, and what happened to poor little Lily. As you might imagine, she’s not going to be satisfied with the answers. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – four in, four out, with some delightfully good content today –
A) Started with the latest Fun With Shorts – “Mr. Happy,” another in the awful and bonkers Lone Rangers cartoon series! Basically what we had was “Old West Joker” – a gentleman who used laughing gas to subdue his victims, and had clown henchmen, including a jester second-in-command (though his was a giant man who wrassled with the Ranger). Dude was defeated by bursting one of his own gas bombs in his face. Stupid, silly fun, especially with Josh making fun of everything on the regular. :)
B) Then it was over to James Turner and another look at his subreddit, since it’s been a month. Some more fun stuff has been posted, such as a short video of a real-life Roomba heading outside (mirroring the adventures of in-game Cottage Living LP robot vacuum Sucker); compilation videos for James yelling “KATRINA!” and “Aw, Batuu, yeah!” (the first as per his request, the second a happy surprise); a picture of his self-Sim offering a date a rose being called “creepy” by some redditors, and inspiring other redditors to call him unromantic thanks to his Sims never really having any romance in their lives (James reminded everyone that it’s silly LP times, and brought in his real-life girlfriend to defend his honor); a counter-offer to his previous offer of “25K redditors and I’ll do Part 4 of my Hotel Build” – “30K redditors and you do another Prison Challenge video,” which he chose to accept after reviewing the old rules; and an interesting look into why sometimes the thumbnails and titles of videos on YouTube change based on someone screenshotting the original title of his “taking all poops in Sims 4” video – basically it’s all to do with analytics, and if a video is underperforming, a change in thumbnail and title can help get some more attention. Neat stuff! And I’m intrigued to see the Prison Challenge in action, if he can find some rules that were written more recently (to account for stuff like being able to lock doors).
C) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin, who was doing some Sims 4 content himself – making his own version of the Squid Games with Jim Pickens! If you’re like me and finally want some context for why people in Happy Wheels and Sims 4 are doing these strange challenges, it’s a South Korean show on Netflix that has a bunch of people competing in strange and dangerous games for a MASSIVE cash prize. Right up Jim’s alley, really! Kevin created five random Sims (named 01, 02, 03, 04, and 05), dragged his latest Father Winter captive into this, then created a large basement where everyone could live and rest between the various challenges! Said challenges were – a running challenge on the treadmill (first one off lost – and it was poor exhausted Father Winter); an artistry challenge (lowest-value painting lost – this actually had TWO eliminations, as 02 was too uncomfortable to even finish her painting, and 01 had the least-valuable painting (one dollar below the next-lowest!)); then a swimming challenge in a walled-up pool (first to drown lost, and poor 03 who was the tiredest dropped first); and finally a “Don’t Wake The Llama” challenge (best two out of three – unfortunately 05 lost two in a row, leaving 04 as the last one standing!). Our winner got a nice song from Jim, their freedom, and $250,000 to buy Cordelia’s cabin in Henford-On-Bagley! Don’t you love a happy ending? XD
D) And finally it was time for GrayStillPlays and Kiss In Public – yes, another one of his beloved shitty mobile games! This one was simple – you’re a dorky guy dating a girl, and you have alternating levels of sneaking into/out of places (like the girlfriend’s house, the R-rated movie, or the beach) without being spotted by the Terminator-like adults populating the levels, then kissing to fill a meter while also avoiding the terrifying gaze of a glowing-eyed manbot. (Or avoiding crashing her father’s car – Gray made getting to the top of the meter at the exact time he crashed the car an art form.) Also sometimes you were required to text your girlfriend and try not to annoy her, which Gray was deliberately bad at. XD Most of the game was spent with Hailey, but after Gray’s character got a dye jobs, new shorts, and ditched his glasses, he moved onto Jessica, which Gray seemed quite shocked by. Dude, don’t pretend you’re above your fictional people cheating – not with some of the games you’ve played. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just a couple of ask replies over on Valice Multiverse, nothing major. Which, trust me, I’m glad of.
Well, at least the funny was brought on YouTube! And now to set up tomorrow's to-dos:
1. Clean my room
2. Watch the stuff in my Watch Later and keep up with YouTube Subs
3. Free Writing Day -- work on either my idea for the "all lot challenges challenge" or more Hypnosnippet stuff
4. Decide between playing Sims 4, playing Bloodlines, or doing prep work for trying Fallout 4 again
5. OPTIONAL -- Get in a workout
Yeah, you can see I'm undecided on a couple of things -- we'll see where the day takes me! For now, gotta go do the thing -- night all!
