Meh Friday Before Halloween

I'm not really in the spooky mood, which I partially blame on the radio station we listen to at work playing like three Halloween songs before giving up. *sigh* But mostly it's just because I've been stressed and tired and whatnot, so it's hard to get into the groove. And I've got cleaning to do tomorrow. . .on the other hand, tomorrow Mom's determined to finally carve jack-o-lanterns, so I guess that'll help! Plan to listen to some Halloween music on my own too. . . But for now, we have our usual to-dos:
Work – Meh – most of the day was largely quiet, with just cleaning up more duplicates, but my chatty coworker was in a Mood and doing some passive-aggressive bitching, and right at the end of the day some different credit card stuff came up regarding our PCI compliance, and – yeah. Me being annoyingly stressed at the end of a work day continues.
Beanbags – No, because again, the weather was pretty well shit today – and tomorrow it’s supposed to POUR. I think it’s time to retire this portion of the to-do list again, as we’re coming up on the time where we have to put the game away for the winter anyway.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another day on the bike, and another half-hour with L.A. By Night, “Fear No Monsters!” The gang were largely enjoying their night at the club – Nelli successfully fed from the purple-haired girl by hitting her with some Entrancement, while Victor got his pad of notes from the journalist, whom he then made forget he ever handed them over; went over to Chocolate Drop pre-her live performance and Mesmerized her into giving the best one of her life (which I guess is probably the nicest way you can use that particular power); and then fed from an influencer hanging out in the club whom he then gave a bit of a boost by doing a bit of livestreaming with her. X and Annabelle, meanwhile, headed upstairs to the offices (playing silly “fuck marry kill” games about vampire movies on the way), where X had a moment of genuine pathos involving him attempting to explain the nature of the Malkavian curse (that is, he’s got a lot of shit going on in his mind at all times and he has no idea if he can even trust himself) that Annabelle didn’t QUITE get, but still offered her sympathy on, which then turned into a private dance party after she refused his offer to take her to Venice Beach and fight the cougar. All fun and games – until Victor got word of a rat infestation in the basement and kitchen. He texted the others, scooped up Nelli, then headed downstairs via the elevator, EXPECTING I guess Nosferatu – and got a whole bunch of actual rats and a very freaked-out Nelli. We will find out who is behind the infestation next time!
2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check – Alice has successfully investigated Virgil Crumb’s corpse and found his keycard for Foxy Boxes, which she has taken for later (leaving his license in exchange). Now she’s back on the hunt for Lily, having gone across to the freezer room looking for clues. And while she wasn’t able to crack the computer before, the Queen has noticed that one freezer feels distinctly warmer than the others. Time to open it up and see if there’s something in there that there shouldn’t be!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – another two-in-two-out-plus-bonus day –
A) Still no James, but Red Plumbob uploaded today – an examination of dancing between the four mainline Sims games! Which proved to have some interesting information – did you know that The Sims Sims would dance in different styles depending on the music currently playing? (Mostly appropriately, but the “classical” dance does NOT fit the music at all. XD) Or that The Sims 2 is the only game to have a “slow dance” option where you can pick what the Sims do during the dance? (The Sims and The Sims 3 have “slow dance,” but you can’t influence it, while Sims 4 remains weirdly lacking in that department.) Or that the “Mascot Dance” in The Sims 3 is literally just Gangham Style? XD Fun times, and makes me want to get my Sims dancing more. (And get around to downloading one of those mods that puts slow dancing back in Sims 4.)
B) Then it was over to the Subs for Call Me Kevin and another short episode of “Two Chunk Challenge” in Minecraft! He’s doing pretty well with his two chunks – he’s chopped down most of the trees above ground and shaped the land so he has a little lookout point and a waterfall where he can go fishing (because suddenly spiders and their string are thick on the ground). :) He also made a well, though that didn’t go quite so well (lol) – namely because, in digging it, he accidentally temporarily flooded his prisoner room, ruining most of his farm and freeing a bunch of pigs. XD He made himself more porkchops, then dug out a bunch of his new underground space to make a new farm, though he’s still working out how to best irrigate it. He also has a VIP (Very Important Prisoner) – a sheep! Yes, shock and horror, one wandered by the chunk, and using some wheat and his spare lead, he was able to get it down to the prison room and into a pen. Figures he’d finally get one AFTER he’s made a bed from spider silk, right? :p He has also captured a witch with his boat defense system, so that’s something! Something that is constantly chucking potions at him, but something. XD Life is good in the double chunk! Hopefully it stays that way.
C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! We had a variety of fun boards today, with the top ones being a cherry ball throw that included such things as cherry bombs, a cherry ball fall (which Gray kept getting, to his own annoyance), and a win that was surprisingly difficult to manage; a rainbow freeze wall rope swing where following the arrows meant getting impaled on spiky rainbow death, and getting down the thumbnail hole tube was the hardest part – well, until Gray discovered there was also a partial wall in front of the win, meaning his rope swings fell short (you should have HEARD the noises he made until he managed to haul himself onto the win); a short trip through a haunted house that was SUPPOSED to end in spiky death, but Gray managed to survive (though young Tom Hardy didn’t), a “Gray’s Spiky Endurance” board that was basically a conveyor belt of terrible spike walls you were meant to jump with Pogo Man – however, the moment Gray discovered you could hang onto the back “wall,” he became determined to beat it that way, riding above the spiky walls and dodging as they tried to rise up to kill him (courtesy of his abandoned pogo stick) before crawling his way to victory; and an “escape the box” challenge he managed to win while he was doing the intro for it. XD And it ended with a cool party that became a short parkour/obstacle dodge that ended with a jet fall! How you want all of your sojourns into Happy Wheels to end. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – had a thread reply over on Valice Multiverse, and I threw in a fandom reblog for a VTMB post I liked. All good there for a bit!
Not too bad, eh? And since I've got the Friday Night Writing Thing looming, let's get the to-dos for tomorrow sorted and then head out:
1. Clean my room and do my laundry pile
2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and watch at least the AT4W in my Watch Later
3. Play Bloodlines and get Crystal to Chinatown
4. Work some more on my "Worst Lot In The World" challenge
*nods* Seems legit. Night all!
