crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Or unhappy, depending on the fandom -- either Doc falls off a toilet and invents the flux capacitor, or Alice's family home burns down. Both events kickstarting I know and love dearly. :p Ah, the duality of this date. . .

Okay, now that I've actually wrapped up some more stuff (like catching up on webcomics and whatnot), let's have the update of the evening:

Work – All right, mainly quiet – I helped fold things for a mailing we’re doing and had the call with the credit card people, who promised that they were doing things to fix all the issues we’ve been having. We’ll see if that actually comes to fruition – they’ve actually promised DEADLINES this time, so at least we have something to call them out on if they don’t get them done by then!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: No check – decided I wanted today to be my “break day.” I’ll catch back up tomorrow and see if I want to get back into L.A. By Night or do something else for a bit.

2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – Alice has confirmed Lily is indeed Lily, and gotten a bit more of her story out of her (along with an explanation of what a “thin-blood” is). She was quite happy to give the poor, miserable girl the good news that E wants to see her again. And she’s even agreed to keep Lily killing the orderly a secret – though she HAS told Lily that she should tell E herself. If only for Copper’s sake, as she wouldn’t be surprised if the idiot tried starving himself to turn human again. Unfortunately, Vandal’s finally come out of his little booth looking for his coworker. . .fortunately, Alice knows how to get Lily out of there and keep him from following.

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – nice easy three-in, three-out –

A) Started with this week’s Fun With Shorts – “The Shoplifter,” Part 1! An old informational short about shoplifting and how to prevent it for store management and personnel, it claims that people can walk easily out of a store clutching a stack of about six frozen steaks between their thighs. Yeaaah, both Josh and the commenters were more impressed than shocked over this fact. XD And someone pointed out that it was the one black woman in the short who got chosen to be the “professional shoplifter. . .” Old 40s and 50s racism – gotta love it! *strained smile*

B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin and Happy Game, which – is NOT truth in advertising. It’s a puzzle game about guiding a young boy through three different nightmares, apparently – Kevin did two of them, one revolving around being bullied for his favorite ball, the other around the loss of his favorite stuffed rabbit. Both of which involved the destruction of many innocent toys and creatures, monstrous tentacle monsters, various creepy smiley faces, and tons of blood everywhere. All in an art style that could generously be called “disturbing.” O.o I don’t know who made this and why, but kudos, this is a genuinely creepy horror game. Da fuq. O.o And the worst part is, since Kevin only completed part of it, I kind of want to see the rest in another episode. Better him than a silent playthrough – I need his disturbed commentary to keep my own wits!

C) Speaking of disturbed things, we finished off with GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! Only a few boards today, but that’s because three out of the five were EXCEPTIONALLY painful. We started with the again-usual bottle flip, this time with multiple wins ranging from a glass break (with a bottle) to a spike fall (with yourself) to a yeet surgeon (with Gray’s sanity fraying as he couldn’t QUITE get it far enough in the hole). From there we had the Stairs of Pain, complete with Secret Wins of Pain – such as falling from the start area, avoiding being crushed by spikes, and then dodging like every harpoon and mine known to man. And the actual board was HARDER! How hard? Bouncy platform stairs with spikes and crossbows followed by a glass break that minces Santa hard! Gray managed to complete both, but he was STRUGGLING! After that was a brief break in the form of a “glass bridge” level (which Gray managed to win by going at reasonable speeds on his bike while talking about how he’d try to cheat it), and then we had the next Board of Pain – a harpoon dodge with Pogo Man where dodging the harpoons wasn’t the hard bit! That was avoiding the LAND MINES immediately after the last harpoon. Gray spent SO LONG on this board either getting blown up or launched into space. . .you could HEAR the relief in his voice when he finally reached the win!

And then we went straight into eight-bit hell, where he consistently failed at inserting a coin into the slot to play. XD In order, there was a sword throw against Mario, Pac-Man, and a Space Invader; a ball throw where you had to unlock the next stage without hitting either of the two deaths; a freeze-block fall with smaller and smaller blocks to fall through and eventually dodge (and if you didn’t get rid of all your swords from before, they’re coming along for the ride); and finally a single rope swing to get you to the win. Gray came SO CLOSE the first time, but got impaled on the eight-bit spikes and had to try like another two dozen times before finally reaching the win. Ooof – some high-quality Gray agony this episode, THAT’S for damn sure!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got one new thread reply in the queue for Valice Multiverse, currently looking for any fandom posts that could join it.

Not too shabby -- still juggling a few things, but at least the Friday Night Writing Thing has become a bit more of an RP thing for the evening, so that's a little easier to handle when juggling some other messages and whatnot. So let's set up the to-do list for tomorrow:

1. Either write some more on "Learn To Love Again," or try to finish up "The Worst Lot In The World"

2. Watch the three OXtra/OXBox videos in my Watch Later and keep up with YouTube subs

3. Either play Bloodlines and do some Chinatown side missions, or Sims 4 and get further with my house build

4. Get in a workout

Yeah, couple of "multiple choice" options for this list -- and whichever doesn't get picked for tomorrow gets moved to Sunday! So that works out nicely. :p Night all!
