Still got a bit of a stiff neck (though it is better than before, as long as I don't get annoyed and tighten up the affected muscle), and my computer turned off for unknown reasons during my workout/shower (no clue what happened -- power blink? But my clock wasn't affected. . .), but other than that, can't complain about the day! Quite pleasant, actually, and I did very well on my to-do list:

1. Keep up with the FoD Playthrough Progression; Free Writing Day otherwise: Check – as per usual, the fanficcy write-up was done after my regular write-up for this list, below. Pretty simple one tonight, given it was mostly “Preston, Victor, and later one settler set up a tiny settlement.” XD Next week should be more interesting, with meeting Danse and doing his early BOS stuff! Not that Victor plans to join his club, but you can always help out a guy in need. Even if that will involve accidentally (at least in fanfic terms) setting him on fire. XD

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and Jon's latest F:NV "Utter Chaos" video: Check – surprise three in the subs instead of just two, but hey, can’t really say no to an extra Sims video, right? :p

A) Started with the latest from James Turner – another episode of “Every Lot Challenge Challenge!” In an attempt to contain the chaos, the Renrut family now has a new butler, who got a shipping container all their own, complete with an en-suite bathroom. Meanwhile all the children are still crammed into one tiny room – which got even tinier after James shoved everything over a few tiles to make a proper nook for the new washer/dryer combo and build a second downstairs bathroom. XD The two older twins, Donnell and Chi, have also been forced into the scouts, with James making them clean up each other’s messes and annoy the butler for scout badges. The younger twins, Micah and Grayson, ended up aging into children this episode as well (on New Year’s Eve no less) – Micah got the Animal Enthusiast trait from the randomizer, and is pursuing the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration, while Grayson got the Proper trait and is taking on the Social Butterfly aspiration. Jasmin, in between all this nonsense, got through another semester of university – she got an A- in one class, but A+s in both of the others, meaning she’s brought her GPA up to an A-, whew! And Semaj, in addition to upgrading everyone’s beds, making cakes for all the birthdays, ordering a bunch of new Zoomers meals, choosing to seek Inner Peace as an aspiration, and coming home early one day from work to age up to Adult (to James’s fury because he was JUST about to be promoted) FINALLY maxed out the Business career. And his promotion?

GOT RID OF “OFF THE GRID.” James was THRILLED. XD Now it’s just down to “Quake Zone” (which was REALLY active this episode – then again, James admitted to playing for TWO HOURS to get that promotion) and “Simple Living,” plus the three lot traits “Dog Hangout,” “Cat Hangout,” and “On a Ley Line.” We haven’t QUITE stopped all the chaos on the lot, but the end is in sight! XD

B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin for another Project Zomboid video – playing the game as a pacifist! Yup, this nonsense again. XD “Rob Burglerson” was a Weak Pacifist Burglar who was also Dexterous, Graceful, and Inconspicuous – the perfect combination for the zombie apocalypse, no?

. . .actually, yes. While Rob just barely escaped danger a number of times thanks to his weak constitution making it hard for him to scale fences and force windows (despite his name), and came VERY close at about the ten-minute mark to being eaten by a horde, he actually SURVIVED THE ENTIRE EPISODE. He found a suitcase early on to carry important things (like canned chili, a cabbage, and some sheets), then even got his hands on some gas for a van he found in the street! He wrecked it after a little while and hurt himself, unfortunately, but he got his hands on some medical supplies and continued dodging zombies – luring them into the woods, setting up radios and alarm clocks to distract them, and even firing a gun randomly into the wild to get them to go in different directions. He even ended the episode with a VERY successful raid on the local grocery store, devouring a few ears of corn before taking loads of fresh fruit and veg and canned goods back to his little home base. Yes, he’s got a scratched arm and a hurt neck, but he does not seem to be infected with zombie-ism, and he has not killed any zombies either. Despite running a few over with the van. No, I don’t get it either, but I’m very proud of him regardless. XD Part of me wants a sequel, part of me doesn’t want the almost-inevitable death a sequel would bring for the poor guy. XD

C) Then it was time for GrayStillPlays and more Happy Wheels! :D We had the Satan Bottle Flip today (complete with axes, death by van if you wrecked Satan’s TV, and the chance to get Satan’s bathwater and the Demon of Holes); a rope swing flip through a thumbnail hole to get the coin (harder than it looked, largely because Nixon’s arms kept ripping off); a fairly difficult spike fall where your position and timing had to be PERFECT to avoid mincing yourself at the bottom (Gray eventually got it to just splitting the guy in half, which was enough to win); an uphill bottle run with – wonders of wonders – an ACTUAL DAYCARE FOR TOM (no, seriously, the creator built a daycare underneath the main level, complete with teacher, TV, soccer ball, and a pineapple); a gravity test where you had to avoid getting crushed by the boosters (pure desperate speed ended up winning the day here); Nixon versus the Robot Revolution (made rather more difficult when a robot jet-propels itself into your groin and gets stuck – Gray got past it and its compatriots eventually, though!); a “best run” board that zips you past all the bombs, arrows, and spikes in the world (and which Gray did complete in one go, to his own bafflement), and a “Blast from the Past” by Dylan Snider, which involved Nixon avoiding front-flipping Among Us astronauts with machetes, trying not to be murdered by googly-eyed purple “Slithers” going through some holes, smashing his way through the glass “beams” of some spaceships, before hitching a ride to the sun with Kirby (it makes as much sense to me as it does to you). Good times! XD

D) And, of course, we ended the Sunday on Jon’s latest F:NV “Utter Chaos” video! And today actually featured that rarest of animals – PLOT PROGRESS! :D After a brief detour upon finding the entrance to Jacobstown and solving their mercenary problem (via the medium of selling his own junk because Marcus gave him a randomized number of caps instead of their desired price – and then the mercenaries just walked peacefully into Jacobstown, making Jon feel like he’d been scammed somehow), Jon spent some time wandering around looking for doors into the various rooms of Hoover Dam, which then allowed him to find out where THEY led. This ranged from “good plot-important door so I can meet up with the person who will eventually give me NCR plot missions” to “let’s go spelunking in the world’s most dangerous cave full of spore monsters and angry sheep.” XD Further wandering, however, gave him exactly the door he needed to advance one of his missions – the Silver Rush! In there was the Van Graffs, who were happy to hire him to protect a door in Freeside, which allowed him (after patting down a few other folks and thwarting a suicide bomber) to kill Pacer for the NCR without anyone knowing it was the NCR – a random Van Graff merc using an energy weapon shall get the blame! The guy who gave Jon that mission was pleased and told him to go meet with Colonel Moore, and so Jon went back through his plot-important door and met with her to receive the mission to talk with or exterminate the Great Khans. She also gave him permission to use their Quartermaster for supplies!

Said Quartermaster has all the fucking explosives. Jon was shocked and thrilled and immediately loaded up on as many grenades as he could afford. To the point where he was clearing out caves and needlessly antagonizing alpha male Deathclaws near Red Rock Canyon, where he would normally need to go to talk to the Great Khans. (He did indeed get killed for his trouble when the Deathclaw proved to be faster and have a longer reach than anticipated.) He still has quite a few things to find – the current location of the Great Khan he has to talk to, ED-E, this one sonic emitter that will eventually allow him to take out forcefields. . .but now, he can blow up ALL of the things for as long as he can afford it, yay. I look forward to THAT going wrong quickly. XD

3. Play Fallout 4 and set up Starlight Drive-In as a settlement, then go over to Corvega to get Haylen's message for Danse's stuff: Check! Most of the playsession was the former – I cleared out the main concessions/projection building (disarmed one bomb, managed to avoid the explosion from the other since the tension trigger was on the other side off the door), killed some bloatflies that apparently scared some brahmin into the settlement (that was – weird), found myself with a surprise Minutemen Outfit thanks to taking all of Preston’s stuff off him (including his hat, which I returned – so yeah, now Victor’s in the official outfit!), then scrapped a load of items, tried to figure out if building a fence or walls was worth it or not, decided to prioritize crops for the moment and planted a little farm near the workshop shed (with some bloodleaf in the previously irradiated puddle), built a water pump next to that, headed over to the little home in the screen the previous occupants were using to build a bed and cook some stuff, then had Victor hit the sheets around 9:30 in-game. 5:30 AM the next day, I finally built the recruitment beacon (putting it atop the concessions building with a switch and a windmill generator to power it – turned the quest in to Preston and got “Troubled Waters” (the Graygarden special quest) in return, then set about making the place a little nicer for the one settler who’s currently turned up. She has her own large metal shack near the workshop shed, with a bed, dresser (in which I put a nice blue dress), living chair, and desk, and I put some facilities – aka an outhouse and shower station – around the back of the shed. That actually got me up to level 12, so after building an armor bench to scrap some leather stuff I found and add pockets to some of my gear, I looked at my options and took Hacker level 1 – never hurts to be able to hack more terminals! I FINALLY pulled myself away from settlement-building around 4 PM both in and out of game. XD From there it was a short hike back to the Corvega plant (killing a small horde of ferals along the way), and around 5:30 PM in-game, Victor had found Haylen’s message and picked up “Fire Support!” He and Preston are on their way to help now. :) THAT should get me up to level 13 and finally unlock some of the better gun and armor mods I’ve been waiting on! Fingers crossed!

4. Work on tumblr drafts/queues: Check! Started early by getting my latest ship meme and all the notes to explain my various checkbox and graph choices put into the drafts on Victor Luvs Alice before lunch, then did the pictures and starter text for the Chill Save update on Wednesday right after. And this evening, had one ask to reply to over on Valice Multiverse. Keepin’ on keepin’ on!

5. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, but with Smiler-themed content today! Yes, as you might imagine, I’m still on the roller coaster bullshit after making a Sim of said roller coaster to join Victor and Alice eventually in a threesome in my Chill Save. XD I ended up watching a documentary on the Smiler’s history (including, of course, the infamous crash – apparently what happened is that a car was added to the four running during some downtime while they were fixing another problem on the ride, for some reason the engineers in charge of keeping the ride moving weren’t TOLD there was a fifth car on the ride now and thus, when the first car full of the unlucky passengers stopped on the lift hill, they didn’t look for a fifth car and overrode the computer to keep downtime to a minimum, resulting in the crash and Merlin Entertainment getting rightfully fined and sued); the 40th anniversary animation for Alton Towers in general; some on-the-ride footage from The Smiler; and finally a relisten to “Meet Me At Our Spot” and a rewatch of a compilation of Victor Van Dort clips. Tomorrow we start Oxventure Rolling In The Deep!

Yes, solid day indeed -- and now I just have to get through this work week before getting a three-day weekend, followed by a half-day the following Wednesday. Hopefully it's not too much of a clusterfuck, either in terms of commute or actual work. *fingers crossed* As it stands, good night!
