crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)

Mostly my commute (as covered in the "Work" section below) and Dad getting pissed off at -- I'm not sure, actually, which online service he uses for his online business was screwing him over, but it was, and he got pissed, so. . . *shrug* Trust me, I get it. *sigh* But anyway, here's the round-up for this Thursday:

Work – Well, it was a fairly productive one, at least – got through a spreadsheet I had to do, sent or resent some letters to people, and generally cleared some stuff off my desk. But between a REALLY foggy ride in and an extra-trafficky ride home – yeah, still count the “work” portion of the day as “meh.” At least tomorrow’s Friday!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another half-hour with the Oxventure Rolling In The Deep! With the Grells deciding that no, they don’t want to listen to fake-Grell-Dob’s story about why he was telling the “prisoners” to play along in Common (though Dob was actually able to think up another excuse later, in that Prudence is crazy and thinks herself some big powerful warlock, so it’s best to play along with her), it was off to find the hiding place of the troll(s)! After a trip through a hidden tunnel in a pool, the group found themselves outside the boss arena chamber, where a bit of fourth-wall-bending banter ended up in Corazon getting paralyzed because a Grell thought it was funny. XD So the gang was technically short a member as they entered the final room of the cave –

To find one hulking troll with an axe in the middle of what looked like a laboratory. Complete with strange monsters floating in large tanks and various colored liquids and whatnot. Hmmmmm. . .a not-unfamiliar scene to our Oxventurers, actually. After dramatically declaring that she was here to kill the troll for the Hermit’s Guild, Prudence promptly switched tactics when the troll said “so you’re not here for the monster men?” and said, yes, she was here for the monster men. Troll told her the monster men were not fully formed yet and to come back in a week; Prudence protested and managed to confirm through said protest that – yup, this was Lilianna’s work! The drow sorceress who stole Egbert’s kidney! On behalf of Egbert, she asked about the kidney, and the troll said they only had a bit of it there, which Egbert said he’d take. There was a council between the non-paralyzed members of the team as to what to do – Dob said, since the Grell couldn’t SEE them (blind and all), they could do as they liked as long as he checked in every so often, and suggested Prudence get back the bit of kidney for Egbert and command the troll to smash the monster tanks as a “bad batch.” Prudence was a little saddened at not getting a monster army, but told the troll to start smashing – he bitched but used his ax to smash open the first tube –

ROLL FOR INITIATIVE! Because, as it turns out, what was in there was basically a skinless horrible Egbert creation, and even though he didn’t have his scales yet, he was STILL ready to rumble! A panicked Merilwen went first and, turning back into her usual elf form, tried to use “Entangle” on the beast, but he easily avoided the vines. He chose instead to try to attack Egbert himself, but missed thanks to a wide swing and Egbert being encased in a well-made foam tentacle. XD Prudence promptly hit him with Agonizing Blast and managed to sear off a decent chunk of his face via a nice crit, but didn’t bring him down for the count. And then Egbert –

Well, Egbert had a swell of fatherly feelings and decided to try and talk his kidney-clone down. Sonbert, as I shall now call him, wasn’t exactly into stopping fighting, but Egbert was able to redirect him to fighting one of the Grell! Or, rather, what was left of a certain fake Grell, which was Dob in a well-made foam tentacle. After a brief break to panic over the troll trying to smash ANOTHER tank (and not quite doing so, fortunately), Dob managed to pull off one of his amazing acrobatic moves and trip up Sonbert, who got a shard of tank RIGHT through the jaw, ouch. And then it was Corazon’s turn – and after some talk about whether or not he could move, and the decision that he could TRY to do something at disadvantage, he (with the help of Prudence propping his still-mostly-paralyzed body up) managed to spear Sonbert with a snarl of “Egbert sends his regards!” and kill him. Sonbert died asking for his papa, poor thing – in a bad French accent, because Johnny apparently can’t do a “Mike” voice. XD Egbert was not exactly pleased.

And then the Grells managed to stab THEMSELVES with their own venomous tentacles because Luke, on behalf of Johnny, rolled a natural one on their turn. XD This led to round two and the gang against the troll – Merilwen went Octowen again and grappled the troll, who ALSO got a natural one on his roll and thus was basically being used like a baseball bat in Octowen’s tentacles. Prudence used her turn to defer to Dob, hoping he could put the troll to sleep before he released any more Sonberts – and that is where I left off! Ten minutes to wrap this up and deal with the Grells – I’m not sure how it will be done, but it shall! :P

2. Continue editing Chapter 5 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – Alice has used the fact that she’s heard some rather unflattering things about both Jeannette and Therese to get the sisters riled up about the name-callers – then point out that, even when they want to kill each other, they’re still jumping to each others’ defense. And when she finally got them to admit they got along well as children, ruling over imaginary worlds together, she told them about her own sister – how Lizzie, despite not being of an age to play with her much, still served as one of her best friends and confidantes as Alice ran around her Wonderland. . .and how much she misses her now that she’s dead. Talk about hitting the girls right in the feels, huh? But sometimes, that’s all that works. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – very easy tonight, with only one video in the list! So I took the opportunity to watch some other stuff I’ve been meaning to get to –

A) Started in the Watch Later with the latest from Plumbella! We had:

I. “Sims 4: Get Together is the best pack argue with the wall” – Plumbella plays through a bit of Get Together and its content! This version of her self-Sim, Plum, was a lady in a knight outfit, who got a starter home in Windenburg, promptly joined the “Knights of the Hedge” club, attempted to take it over on her first gathering, got annoyed when she couldn’t, formed her OWN club “Knights of the Hedge Real” with Mortimer Goth, fought her old leader Jacques for club points, then got REALLY invested in the story of the Von Haunt estate, as Plumbella hadn’t realized the plaques all had unique text. After that she hit a local nightclub to have a dance battle with Jacques, then got cannolis for breakfast the next morning from a local cafe before heading over to the ancient ruins to play with the bonfire, and the island bluffs for a skinny-dip in the pool there. XD Plumbella was of the opinion that the world itself was a great way to show how open they could be even with having to deal with loading screens between lots, and the club system was great – but the fashion. . . XD It was a fun video to watch, though, and makes me realize that I REALLY do need to get into the other worlds more. I don’t think I’ve seen much of Windenburg at all! Maybe I should start taking advantage of the fact you can now vacation anywhere and put rental lots in each world so my Sims can take little vacations everywhere. . .

II. “AHHH WEDDING STORIES PACK (trailer reaction)” – just what it says on the tin, Plumbella checking out the trailer and blog post on My Wedding Stories. Being a family Simmer who likes getting people together to pop out babies, she is a lot more excited about this pack than James was, that’s for certain. XD She thinks that this game pack has the right amount of focus for a pack of its nature, and is hopeful that it’ll have good gameplay and just generally be fun! We’re all hoping that, Plumbella! Just slightly annoyed that I can’t do a big fancy Valice wedding since, in both my current “actually playing” save files (as opposed to my building and test saves), Victor and Alice are already married. Meh.

B) Then it was over to the Subs for Call Me Kevin using a painting game (I don’t know the name of it, it didn’t come up) to recreate NFTs! Because he looked at the Bored Ape NFTs and was like “I could do that.” And, honestly – he could do that. Him making copies of NFTs to send to buyers in-game actually showed he does have some artistic skills. At least, when it comes to copying ridiculous digital drawings that go for absurd amounts of cryptocurrency. His cat one was arguably better than the actual freaking NFT! Best of all, his sponsor for the video was SkillShare, a video all about learning things and building your skills, which – I don’t think it was INTENDED as a flex, but damn does it feel like one. XD Anyway, always up for some NFT mocking, Kevin – continue the good work!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – one ask reply and one reblog from myself over on Valice Multiverse (the ship meme from last year I reblogged first on Victor Luvs Alice – why not, you know?).

So yeah, not a bad day -- even had time to catch up on all my tumblr tags and add more Victor and Alice clips to my YouTube playlist for that purpose. :p Mostly because I didn't have a bunch of messages to keep up with on tumblr unlike usual, but I'll take the quiet for the night! And now it's time to head to bed. . .just one more day to get through! Though we'll be down a coworker tomorrow, and it's not the talky one, so. . .we'll see how it goes. Night all!
