Time Getting Away From Me Monday
Feb. 21st, 2022 11:41 pmTo be fair, that's partially because I got home and immediately made a dozen muffins so I'd have breakfast for the next 12 working days (ended up making a quick-and-dirty smoothie this morning with the leftover apple from my parfaits), and thus most of my usual before-workout computer time got shifted. . .but I do have to-do updates:
Work – Largely quiet but rather tense, mostly because Chatty Coworker was in a bad mood/had anxiety and was making what felt like a lot of passive-aggressive comments. *grumbles* And of course all the credit card calls of the day came in like the same five minute timespan, which was a little annoying. And we had ANOTHER fire alarm which forced us to head outside. Still don’t know what set it off. At least today it was decent weather! *sigh* Just a day of minor annoyances, though at least I cleared out more exceptions. We’ll see what the rest of the week brings!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike today, with more of the OxSong Livestream! Andy talked a bit about the guitar solo he did for the middle of the music video, and then they played the video again so everyone could enjoy it another time. :) Got a better look at Johnny’s to-do list in the video too – one of the items was “make a boss that lasts more than one combat round.” XD And then, after that, it was time for Oxventure Pictionary! First round was Johnny, Jane, and Mike taking turns drawing and guessing to wrack up the points and go up against Luke and Ellen (Andy, who wrote all the cards of things to draw, served as scorekeeper and card-hander-outer). They all did pretty well, but Johnny managed to smash it, both with guessing and with drawing. :) (I mean, as they pointed out, they did COME UP with all of these adventures. . .) After some shout-outs to donors and a quick goodbye to James, who helped direct the music video and who had to leave early, the Johnny-Luke-Ellen round started – and when I left it, it wasn’t going particularly well. XD I’m sorry, Ellen, but your “quest market” looked to me like the killer chairs too! Or maybe the trapped animals when you fought the mechanical beetle. . .
2. Edit Chapter 4 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check! I have indeed gotten Alice and Mercurio through visiting Gimble and fighting him in a boss fight that probably goes rather quicker than the one in the game, on account of two people being around to beat his head in. Left it with them freeing Carson – I’m on page 37 of 46, yay! :D So yeah, hitting my Wednesday “finish and post” target is looking doable, good. (And I found out that the official WoD channel uploaded another compilation of music for V:tM, so I was able to listen to that while writing – good stuff, I’m enjoying these playlists they’re coming up with.)
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – even got in a short bonus video, yay!
A) Started with Carl’s Sims Guides and his first look at the early access version of the My Wedding Stories pack – and his attempts to mod it so it would actually WORK. Yes, the “please take your seats” option does NOT work correctly without him poking at the code. He also had to fix the broadcasters for the champagne toasts bucket and the first dance so Sims would actually participate in and watch these activities – and he’s gonna have to stop kids from making messes, because that’s all the kid at his test wedding did. While looking straight at her parents all the while. XD But yeah, the whole thing feels depressingly robotic and broken, and my enthusiasm for the pack is waning. Rather like Dream Home Decorator, in fact. . . I still think the world would be great for vacations, but it’s not a reason to pick up the pack anytime soon.
B) From that bit of bug-fixing depression, we moved into the Subs with Call Me Kevin and some Dark Souls: Remastered! Where Kevin has installed a mod that changes his weapon every minute. In, what I repeat, is DARK FUCKING SOULS. He actually got farther than I expected, thanks to getting some really good luck-of-the-draw when it came to fighting the Asylum Demon at the start – though he also made a habit of killing pretty much any semi-useful NPC as well. And he got REALLY stuck on the Taurus Demon and the area around it – sometimes he’d have an awesome weapon and just take out the enemies with ease, sometimes he’d have exactly the wrong weapon and get wrecked. A lot. And of course, with the weapons swapping so often – basically, every time he wanted a bow, he got a sword, and every time he wanted a sword, he got a bow. XD At least EVENTUALLY he found his way to a bonfire other than the one at Firelink Shrine! And then proceeded to get toasted to a crisp by the bridge dragon nearby. XD Oh man. . .I mean, surviving for any length of time in Dark Souls is an achievement, but to make it as long as he did with that mod? Kevin luckiest Irishman on earth, confirmed. XD
C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and Boxing Surgery Simulator 2000, which is a game in which you must force a randomly generated boxer into fighting better by yelling either encouragement or abuse during the actual matches – and then, between rounds, you must fix up your fighter’s health via a variety of terrible implements for the job (like soothing bumps with an ice cream bar, or pulling closed wounds with a fish hook). Gray naturally used a few boxers to see how many injuries you could collect on one character (a lot), how quickly you could kill a character, and how many silly tombstones there were, then used “War The Protector” to go the distance and see how long he could get them to last! Result – pretty freaking long! He got all the way to a fifteen-round fight before War died, because the game put so many injuries on them that no more could spawn, meaning Gray had no way to repair their health between rounds. And the tombstone claimed that Arby’s, of all things, might have finished them off. XD Ahhh, good times, good times. . . Oh, also, he got a guy on Cameo who pretends to be Jesus to promote his coffee brand. XD Love it.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: N/A because I got it all done the other day! So that’s nice, one less thing to worry about at the beginning of the week.
Well, that's all good at least, and now I am very glad that I devoted so much of my Sunday to getting that queue stuff done. XD And now it's time to zip off to bed -- night all!
